We had almost 2 feet of snow. H decided the roads were still bad and we did not go to the wedding. I'm bummed but I was so nervous about the roads conditions and driving 2 hours each way. Now I can be a bum read and relax.
Dug out early this morning and hit the grocery store. Demo is happening right now on my kitchen and I am amazed at how much bigger it looks after the wall came down. Eeek!!
H and I and going out for Sunday Funday in a few hours since we have been home bound all weekend. I'll be drinking and eating unhealthy foods. Yay!

So we're back from looking at the houses.
The 3/2 had a surprise edition of a den, bathroom, and sun room essentially making it a 4 bedroom 3 bath house. The owner passed and so it is like an estate sale. The added rooms were NOT permitted and the realtor, H, and MIL, all agree it is a virtual money pit.
The 2/1 is move in ready which I absolutely love and a good size for our family now and our potential bigger family. I'm not looking for our forever home, just something to last us until we have 2 incomes again. It needs a dishwasher, but I'm not worried about that. I could really move into this place. H likes it too, but is still hoping for (what we just now termed) our Unicorn house.
We were only approved for $71,500 w/ a down payment of $10K. I just don't think we can find a 3/2 in that price range that is move in ready. I'm trying to be realistic. I don't want to lose out on a house that is in such great condition hoping for our Unicorn house. Ugh! House hunting is stressful.

penguin129 I agree about the money pit. Will the non-permitted rooms have to be torn down? If not, what would it take to get the permits done or get the rooms up to code?

So is that window or opening in the kitchen behind the stove the opening/window that leads to that room?
Yes, that entire wall is coming down and it will be a large peninsula and totally open to that back room. (Which was a later addition, with the lovely paneling)

Same neighborhood/area. The square footage doesn't matter because H is a solid no on the 3/2 and I agree. There was no oven, only a range top on the counter which was very strange. The 2/1 is close to 1,100 sq feet. It is slightly bigger than the town house we are renting now, BUT everything is on ONE floor. I am so tired of having to go up and downstairs with laundry basket and DD in my arms (not at the same time of course).

I really would be H wants to wait and see if we can find a 3/2 in our price range and his mom is trying to push us in that direction. We've only been looking for a week and only seen 5 houses so I think we can give it a little more time or at least I hope. I need to call the management for the HOA to see what the fee's all go to. The HOA's are $600 a year and we know they at least go to the use of the pool and the park. The house I really like was just reduced to $64,900 from 67,900 and is going to be vacant February 14th. (there's a tenant in it right now). I have a feeling the seller wants to be able to sell it vs. renting it out again for another year.

I kept saying how much I really liked the house and where I would put our furniture in front of our Realtor. Now they think we won't be able to haggle as much on the price because I showed my hand, tipped my hat, etc. Is that really true? People on House Hunters and Property Virgins say how much they like the houses all the time.

gabride2010 I've got no allegiance either way but would love to see Peyton make it happen. I just don't know if he can do it against Brady. Cam was the man on 2 of my fantasy teams this year so I've been kind of pulling for the Panthers for that reason.

Good luck! I can totally understand trying to get a 3/2. I have a 3/1.5 and it's amazing how much use that little half bath gets. Good luck!
And the prices are amazing where you are, so be happy about that.

requiressnacks Thanks! I know southwest Florida is low cost of living area for the most part so we have that going for us. The thing is all the 3/2 are listed for at least $20K over our budget.

I don't think it'll be too big of a deal. Although generally the people on House Hunters and Property Virgins have already bought the house before filming (sorry to ruin the HGTV magic)

thelittleredm H loves his Glock .40. He had a .357, but he traded it. He won a Glock .380 in a raffle, but it was too small for his hand, so he sold it.

Hi ladies, I got home from work, showered, and passed out. I should have eaten first though because I have been ravenous since waking up. I'm eating everything in sight! Nothing exciting going on here ... meatballs in the crockpot and I need to do laundry! I'm making DH watch Say Yes to the Dress before football starts and he hogs the TV until bed lol.
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
