QOTM: Things have been quiet around here so I haven't updated the check-in in a while. Is the monthly check-in working for everyone or should I switch back to bi-weekly.

I give up on sleep. My rls has gotten a lot worse so what little sleep I was getting is quickly leaving. I can usually count on an hour or so nap in the middle of the day, so that's really helpful unless I actually need to go somewhere.
I'm talking to the doctor about possibly starting back up on the Mirapex, though I'm not sure how safe it is.

So, because of the RLS I use a heating pad on my legs when they start to ache. I've been sleeping on the couch with the heating pad the last two nights and I've actually been able to get a few hours of sleep here and there after using the heating pad! Last night I wasn't even having much pain from the RLS but used the heating pad on my legs anyways and was still able to get almost 4 hours of sleep!!!
Not sure why it works, but I'm not questioning it. I'm not cold AT ALL, to the extent that I have to stop using my blanket because it makes my feet too hot after a few minutes, but it's still helping somehow. Now I just need to find a way to make it work while I'm in my own bed.

ETA: I've tried sleeping on the couch when my insomnia is bad and I don't want to keep waking up Blake and it never changes the amount of sleep I get, so I don't think the couch itself helps at all, if that's what you were wondering.

I usually have it on the top of my legs while I lay on my back, then when they get hot I take it off and am (so far) able to fall asleep a short while later. Then I'll wake up after an hour or so and rinse and repeat.
Tried the heating pad in bed last night and it seems to work! Got almost 3 hours again. It didn't work initially, but I think I just wasn't tired enough yet. I'm hopeful this is the beginning of something beautiful.

3. What are you doing to treat or cope? Is it working? I take ambien nightly and finally saw a psychiatrist the other day. Ambien works most of the time.
4. Any major break-through lately that has helped you sleep. Not lately.
