Hi y'all, here we go again! Hope y'all are having a good start to the week. How about joining me for some goal setting this week, pretty please?! Lol JK. If you are new and would like to start participating, please follow the format given below and update us next week! Thank you
I'm biting the bullet and starting to take control of my ED recovery again. Since I was pregnant I was a little more lax and less concentrated on myself, but I have to change this now. I've been scared and hesitant to make an steps forward but I feel more motivated now and I hope that by incorporating my recovery into these goals, I can stay accountable. I know that if I write it down and proclaim that I'm going to do something, I beat myself to the ground to make sure it happens. So here goes.
Goal: go one full day without purging
Short/long term: short
Why is it important? I have to prove to myself that I can go without behaviors because my kids need me to be healthy, mentally and physically. It's been way too long since I have had a good day with this particular symptom and I know it's my most severe one.
How will I accomplish it? Make a meal plan and text my mom and sis to stay accountable.
icequeen, The fact alone that you are here every week posting goals and showing up and encouraging people even if little people join you, or they do and then mess up and don't feel like reporting back (like me) inspires me to set goals and be accountable once again. You rock! So I'll post again this week and then after that. I also read this, and take it as motivation to take things one day at the time, like you're doing with your goal. I hope you've had and are having a good day today!
Short/long term: I want to create a healthy habit so long term. When I have this down, I'd like to add other stuff.
Why is it important? I know my mind and body feel better when I do, incorporating meditation in my morning routine me help me get my day started on the right foot, as it were.
How will I accomplish it? I am taking part in a 30-day meditation challenge, and chosen a couple of poses to do in the mornings.
@dutchkatie, thank you so much girl! Sorry if I put too much pressure on y'all. I didn't want to be pushy I just want to liven up the board a bit and get some traffic going so we can all support each other with challenges. I know that always helps me a lot.
I really like your meditation challenge, that looks like it would be great for recentering your focus and calming yourself. Things that I definitely need too!
As I said, it is inspiring to see your tenacity. You're setting the example for all of us, so I am quite sure you'll be a good example for your kids as well.
