Does anyone know if we can give our LO's anything for constipation at this age? We've tried Apple Juice all day and staying away from constipating foods. Poor thing cries when she's trying to go and nothing is coming out. I can tell it hurts her a lot and I feel aweful. :/

Prune juice?
The book I have recommends fruits or veggies puréed with peels 3 times a day. Increase fiber and water. Also glycerin suppositories that are sold over the counter. If those don't help, your pediatrician should be able to recommend/approve stool softeners such as mineral oil or miralax.

I forgot I had some Colic medicine in the cabinet and filled her up with that. She also just screamed and cried and ended up with a giant, hard poop the size of her fist that I can only imagine how painful was passing....so, hopefully that's what we were waiting for all day and the juice will kick in from here on out. Ugh. Poor kiddo.
Thankfully she finally had a somewhat normal poo finally late morning, so I'm hoping it keeps up! We're still avoiding cheese and bananas for a few days just in case.
