A lot of people are confused as to what has been happening the last few days on TB. This is how I understood it and why I'm leaving TB. Anyone with more info, please share here.
As of Dec 31, XO, the company who owns TheBump, is under new ownership. A few days ago, there were rumors new TOU were coming out. People were confused and wanted answers. Before new TOU were even posted several regs and mods were banned. People got angrier, tried to ask what was happening but still no answers from TB. New TOU came out and it became apparent that TB was trying to change the tone of the boards and silence the snark. More regular posters were banned for no reason and mods were demoted. At this point many peope decided to leave TB and started breaking TOU and getting banned on purpose.
M14 is leaving TB because we will not support a business that intentionally bans its most regular users and destroys entire communities. Welcome to our new home at proboards. The mods and parenting have done an amazing job setting up this place.
Everyone is welcome here, lurkers, newbies and regs. becole has been working non stop trying to PM everyone on M14 to let them know to come here but it's been a challenge with all the crashes on TB. So even if you have not receive a PM yet, come and join us here
Obviously, everyone is free to decide for themselves if they would like to stay at TB, move to PB, or use both. But a lot of us will not be returning to TB anymore and we hope you'll join us here.
I guess since I don't know anyone that was banned and tried not to engage in snark, I don't have strong feelings for leaving TB. But having a community of Moms with kiddos the same age has been such a valuable tool to me. I'm sticking with the group wherever it calls home.
I don't feel strongly re: the TOU changes, but I don't like the current malfunctions and I'd miss you all anyway. So. Here I am at 2am, only 6 hours before I need to drive 3 hours. Coffee and energy drinks will be my friends.
And they were also hacked by banned people and they put porn everywhere. So do you want to post somewhere so easily hacked by ladies at their home computers? I means I know they are probably geniuses, but TB security and mobile sucked. I can do so much more here and I don't have to worry about saying something snarky, getting banned- and having no community to return to.
And also- I cannot invite people to the group anymore so that they can be directed here. I promise no one on this board had the intention of leaving anyone out of the private group (which just explained how to set up your account over here). So please don't be hurt if you didn't get a pm. I promise I tried to send it to you!!

I've been trying to PM people since yesterday but TB won't let me. Sorr y to those who have not received one yet, you were NOT intentionally left off.
I agree with ho11yday. I feel that it was wrong for them to target the main people that keep their site going. Many of us have been here since the knot and for them to ban without warning is wrong. Andplusalso I would follow you ladies anywhere!

becole can you delete people from the private group? I was thinking maybe remove them when we see them post here, could make it easier to keep track of who is still in limbo, what do you think?

I can tell who hasn't accepted the invite yet. I worry about deleting folks if they are using the private group to figure out how to set up over here. I'm still answering people's questions. Also, a few people have posted that they plan to be in both places until it all blows over and they decide what they want to do. So I dunno. I'd rather just keep trying to add people. I mean I'm not getting banned over thre unless they ban me for the private group so I plan on catching people and redirecting them for weeks. Plus the bat signal Should point folks here.

What's the deal with all the requests to delete users and their posting history? I mean, clearly the BumpGods aren't doing it, but what's the reason there?
Also, my phone autocorrected delete to d'être. Go figure.

They say new policy. Which is crap. It's because they don't want to lose all their content. The users requesting deletion are heavy posters who have been here for years.
FYI I emailed the bump today and respectfully asked to have images of my kid removed. I provided links because there weren't that many I couldn't delete myself. I expressed that ultimately I'd like my account deactivated and content removed. They say they already deleted the images and will honor my request to remove all content and I should see that happen by late tonight.
