DD1 is a peanut and is just starting to wear some 24 months clothes. I'm looking at winter clothes on clearance for next year. Should I buy 3T? The jumps between 24 months, 2T and 3T confuse me. Anyone with a bigger kid want to share their thoughts on these sizes? What's the difference between 24 months and 2T?
We have 24 months and 2T soft jeans from Carters - the 24 months are baggy. I think 24 month stuff is also supposed to be a little more babyish in appearance (also tops are usually onesies), where as 2T looks more kiddish.
I've bought a couple 3T tops that I figure will fit Tabitha next fall/winter, but I'm trying to restrain myself since I just don't know.

DS is wearing both 24m and 2T, it's totally dependent on how it's cut/made. He is also wearing some 3T pjs already because of how they are made. I've been wanting to buy ahead for next year but am afraid things won't fit so I've decided to wait. Once summer comes and I see how he's really growing then I'll garage sale and start to buy for next year.
Levi is also already in 3T! ugh didn't want to buy clothes before spring but had to as he outgrew the 2T overnight it seemed. I did buy a few 4T's as they will work next year; of course generalizing here but the rate of growth from 2yr old to 3yr old should be much less than this past year. I think you're safe to buy 3T
