I'm doing pretty well so far. I'm already at 50% of our grocery spending target, but on the other hand H has been taking his lunch and not eating out every day, so we are saving money in that category. I really haven't done any unnecessary spending (I haven't placed a single Amazon order in 10 days! It's a miracle!).
I've also been doing really well going through every expenditure and classifying it by category on our money tracking tool. It's so helpful to keep things on track. Hopefully I can keep it up!
jessiespano, I too have struggled with emails from my favorite stores. I unsubscribed to almost all of them (and it was A LOT). No more temptation!
Plus you can always re-subscribe when you need something.
You could also filter them into a folder and mark ax read so they aren't tempting you.
I have a junk email account that I use for most of these type of things. I deleted the account off my phone so I have to make a point of logging into it to see any messages.
All of this has helped my impulse purchases and "good deals."
I suck at no spend February. I was really nauseous on 2/4 and went to 7-11 to buy ginger ale and saltines. It's been downhill since then.
I am recommitting to not shopping or buying clothes/toys/decor stuff. Basically no target!
So even though I've been frivolous with food (Starbucks, Chik Fil a, wawa, 7-11) I have only used cash and haven't bought any "stuff." Baby steps.
We are going through my clothes and the girls' this weekend. I'm going to consign everything I can next month to hopefully offset DD1's summer wardrobe (which will be from the same consignment sale). I'm also down 13 pounds so I'm fitting into a lot more prebaby clothes, which helps curb my desire to shop.
I went to Sprouts yesterday to get teething tablets and ended up getting two things that weren't a need. Some oatmeal soap that smells amazing and some In The Raw brand monk fruit sweetener. I've been wanting to try it to get away from Sweet n Low but it definitely wasn't a need.
Also, do we have a thread for tips and tricks to save money? Like I have a laundry detergent recipe I made and I've been using the same batch since last April.
