I got my BFP Friday night and posted this in the Pregnant > 35 board the other day, so I figured I'd just C&P here. I honestly didn't even realize these boards existed. Thanks, caer, for mentioning it! 
My hubby and I are both 39 years old (we'll both turn 40 in May). We have two beautiful little girls, ages 6 and 8, who are going to lose their minds when we tell them I'm pregnant, especially my 6 year old. She has been talking about wanting a baby sister or brother for a couple of months now. We were planning to foster-to-adopt and then also decided to TTC in August (because the DCF licensing process was taking so long and I got baby fever), so the girls knew that we were planning to to foster-to-adopt and kept asking when we were going to "get a child." We went to a DCF Christmas brunch last month and our friends were there with their 2 year old and 9 month old foster sons and my 6 year old was completely obsessed. She asked if we could adopt them, and then talked about them constantly and still brings them up. After that, she told me she didn't want a 5 year old, she wants a baby. She is extremely maternal and is going to be an excellent helper. I'm curious to see how my 8 year old will react to the news, but I know they are both going to be awesome big sisters!
When I got pregnant with them, we told people right away because we were so excited and have no patience. This time around, we are planning to wait until after we have an u/s and whatever testing they recommend (or offer) to us AMAers. I want to make sure everything is okay before we tell the kids. And once we tell the kids, the whole world will know. LOL
I look forward to getting to know everyone!
