nam2013 do you keep the 'baby potty' in the bathroom or out in the house somewhere? When we first started training B, I kept it in our kitchen so it was easy for him to get to. Since we kept his bottom half bare, it was easy for him to use it independently, or get him to it if he started to go and caught himself.

snoopmommymom like tgrimes said, Matthew will not go at day care. He'll go with us on the day care potty or urinal but will not go with any of his teachers. We have to put him in a pull up when we get to school and take it off when we leave. Otherwise he will just keep having accidents. If you come up with a solution, please post here!

Update: We've got peeing down, but pooping is a no-go. Which means a lot of gross underwear. I've thought about switching back to pull-ups until he will do both, although that might be confusing.

I would not go back. V struggled with pooping for a bit after she mastered peeing for the most part, I think a lot of kids go through that.

My Mom is picking up this Potty Training Watch this week for B. I asked him about it and he says he "LOVES' watches and would like a song to remind him to go instead of Mommy.
OK kid, what's another $15 to get this rolling.
My nephew used this watch when he was potty training. It was really helpful!
vinolove that's a great idea, I'm going to look for that. We are not ready yet and I can't fathom trying to do it this weekend with a 3 week old also attached to me! But I'll have to bite the bullet soon.
Haha klongoria11, no carpets. I will remember to pick up more wipes when I get more M&Ms. We're also trying gold coin chocolates, a sticker chart, and big boy underwear as motivation.

B has got poop down pat. She loves her big girl underwear ("so pretty!") and wants to wear them. She tells me she is a big girl and goes to the potty and that she will move to the 3s class w all her friends at DC. But she still has pee accidents in her underwear. Often. That tells me she's not ready. What do you all think?

Are you waiting for her to tell you she has to go or do you send her on an interval? I think they hold at this stage but don't stop to go. I know at dc they usually go at set times. E had an accident today on the way to the potty.
We aim for taking her at least every hour (like they do at DC). She almost always does something on the potty when we take her so its pretty frustrating that she has the accidents in between.

Try taking her more often. Our dc started at every 30 minutes, then 45, then an hour. If she is having accidents in between then she isn't able to hold it long enough or isn't sitting long enough on the potty when she does go.
2 successful pees, no accidents yet. He's good at holding and he's trying NOT to drink. He's on to us! We had to put lemon juice in his water to get him drinking again.
He moves into a new class Tuesday, and I'm going to see if they can start putting him in the potty. We've been doing it at home but it's very sporadic. I'm hoping to do it while I'm still on leave so it will be good if we get on the same page.
We start in 1-2hrs whenever he wakes up. I have candy and soda for us and Clorox wipes for him. I'm nervous.
You'll all be fine. Col went 9 times before his nap. He can hold it until the cows come home and he's no longer trying NOT to go on the potty, but we're no where near him asking to go. I hope we get there this about if not, but at least he's willing to go again.
Now we basically forced fluids and put him on the potty constantly. We wanted to get a lot of early wins in to basically turn his attitude around.
At first, he was holding it and he needed a couple of tries and pep talks to relax enough to go. By the end of the evening, he'd pee as soon as he sat down. Poop doesn't seem to phase him.
We're going to do another no pants day but not push the fluids tomorrow, and only put him on the potty every half hour. I am hoping he'll either ask to go sooner or have an accident at home and learn from it.
If tomorrow goes well, we'll take him grocery shopping in underwear on Monday.
Our day was going really well until MH was a royal ass, I took B to an indoor playplace this afternoon for a couple hours. He went pee there and still paid attention to the watch, so that's something but not 100%.
If this weekend is a bust I'm thinking to do this in Oct when MH is gone, it'll be way easier without him
That's annoying! There's no way this weekend would be going so well if DH wasn't as involved. He's been absolutely great about it - the actual process during the day as well as game-planning the whole thing.
