We are on our own since we don't know anyone yet. We are having home made pizza and toasted ravioli. Nothing exciting. If I were having a party then I would probably do a hummus, olives, cheese, and pita bread tray. One of my favorites. You could also buy those ready to stuff pitas and have a tray of things, hummus olives red peppers grilled chicken spinach cheese. That would be something a little different.
I've made these 3 times in the last 3 weeks for 3 different events and everyone raved!! In muffin tins. I made 48 of them for Juno's party and they were gone halfway through the party, though we had 50 people over. So easy and filling!

OK I heartily admit I love Reuben dip. I never splurge and make it but I might this year. But I'm trying so hard to be healthy and that is so not healthy at all. Since it's just us, I might instead make an eccentric veggie tray into some fantastic shape for fun and experiment with dips. Cosette is recently turned onto tahini and chickpeas so I think I'm going to roast up a few different flavors of those. And then I think I'll do Chicken Satay for me and probably shrimp for her and H. Healthy-ish right but still for the most part finger-foodie.
Those meatballs look fun mrsplaydoh. I wonder if they would work with spaghetti squash?
somethingcleverer those dips look dangerous. Especially the loaded baked potato--I was expecting some potato in there, but nope! Just a pound of sour cream!
