So I usually make this forbidden rice salad with mango, bell pepper, scallions, cilantro and a lime/chili powder/allspice vinaigrette. I found purple cauliflower at Whole Foods last week and decided to do half forbidden (purple) rice, half purple cauliflower rice. It's delicious, the kids gobbled it up, and it's mega healthy. I feel like I won mom today lol.

I can't wait until this summer. We have so many fun things planned. I miss the hot weather and being able to meet friends at the park or pool for play dates. That stupid groundhog can go shit in his hat.

That sounds amazing! What makes it forbidden?
Supposedly, this rice was once upon a time exclusively consumed by the emperor of China. So it was called "forbidden" bc the peasants weren't permitted to eat it. It's this gorgeous dark purple color and it smells like freshly popped popcorn. I love it. I also like to mix it with grapefruit and jalapeno and serve it with seared scallops

Oh but the plow left 6" of packedsnow on our driveway. I had to call to complain. I'm paying monthly for snow removal and unless they only want a portion of the bill paid, I expect all of the snow to be removed. They weren't happy about sending the truck back. Too fucking bad. Do it right the first time.
Playing sims and making chicken enchiladas with white sauce. Sofa king good. This is what makes shredding all that chicken for the Super Bowl worth it.

Hey all! I'm probing from the elliptical right now! DH and I set up a gym area in our basement with our bowflex and elliptical and a few other fitness things. We plan to come down after the boys are in bed 4-5x a week. Gotta go back and catch up on the thread now!
theophania as long as you're here do you care to weigh in on this? DS2 turned 2 last week. I would like to put him in a 2x/wk preschool starting in the fall. DH says we should wait another year (it's about $300 a month for any halfway decent preschool here so I think that's why he wants to wait). This would have him in preschool for the 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years, then in kinder for the 2018-2019 school year. Buuuuuuuuut he's at home with an ASD big brother right now, and I feel like the time away from home and the time with NT peers would be valuable. What say ye?

How many hours? I teach preschool and we have a 2 day a week program for two year olds. I think the specialness of going to school and being with NT peers will be great. If you can swing it financially, do it.
This makes me feel guilty about all the mangina jokes I've made about him over the last 10 years.
Also WTF to mangina. Just no. I had to get that out or it would bother me that I didn't say something.
I was a kid when the show became popular and everyone around here started using that term to describe (him/)her?. Out of the whole clan she's the only one i really could tolerate and really do hope the transformation goes well for her. Basically Kris seemed like she stole her balls along time ago. I really dislike Kris

I'm looking at a few different schools and they are all 2.5-3 hrs each day, 2x/wk

DD1 is cuddled up against me reading. Despite my aversion to touch today, it's pretty nice. The younger two are already sleeping and I can feel my blood pressure lowering.

Also, I really feel like he would love it. When we went to open house for DS1's preschool, DS2 just busted in there and started playing with toys and hanging out like he owned the place. Then when I told him that it was time to go home he cleaned up all the toys. I really think he would rock pre-k and would love going.
