I have a bunch of helium balloons at home right now from DD's 1 year old pics. Since inhaling helium was not on the OB's don't list, I assume I am allowed to Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Wait, can I get an official board ruling on whether I can have my eggs Benedict? (Runny yolks). Last pregnancy I did telling myself that eggs were pasteurized anyway. But isn't the risk also with it not being all the way cooked (hence it being runny?)
Also, cured meats? Like smoked salmon instead of cooked salmon.
I thought the runny eggs risk was because of salmonella. I still eat runny eggs.
And eat the smoked salmon! Salmon is so good for you.
See, I always thought that smoked wasn't as good as cooked. Like it didn't kill all the bacteria.
If I could have been having lox the past three years I'm going to be pissed.
I was super strict with last pregnancy due to loss brain. This time I am a bit more bendy.
I had no idea why smoked and cured meats weren't ok, but I've just been making sure they've been cooked. I eat cooked sushi, and you people are seriously tempting me to throw caution to the wind and go for the way yummier raw stuff. Like BADLY. It hurts.
Last time I didn't even take a teensy sip of beer or wine until after 20 weeks. I've had sips here or there since the start this time. Sorry #2.
I love hot dogs, they're always cooked so not considering that an issue. Wouldn't eat medium rare steak last time, it's all I eat this time. As someone above mentioned, freaking listeria is just everywhere...I got it from GD ice cream at week 40 last time and it put me into labor FFS. So whatever, it's game on now for this girl (that said, I hate deli meat, esp when KU so I won't touch it).
I drink my AM coffee. I miss ibuprofen. I got the go ahead to use my RX steroid cream daily if needed for my awful eczema on my hands. I pretty much just weaned when I'd gotten my bfp so I wasn't really doing much harmful stuff anyways.

According to the Ovia app, sunny side up eggs are totally fine, so eat the runny eggs! (I don't worry about that anyway)
The only thing that has really bothered me is the fact that I always get a cold and can't take anything that actually helps (Mucinex DM, etc.). That, and I have a UTI and had really bad lower back pain from it until I could get in to see the doctor today. I went to take something for the pain the other day and all we had was ibuprofen.
All these warnings are just precautionary so people don't start suing doctors if something happens to their babies. In 2001-2002 when I was pregnant with my son, I couldn't eat ANYTHING. The internet didn't have the wide amount of information nor the research capabilities we do now, so I just followed the doctors rules to a T. Now, being the last of my friends to have a baby in this decade, I hound them with so many questions. I will be eating hot dogs, hoagies, medium rare steaks, and enjoying the occasional red wine spritzer this summer. Oh I will also be indulging in Maryland blue claw crabs as often as our budget will allow. None of these things will be even weekly occurrences and as long as I see everything cooked, I don't see a problem.

So, my OB told me that ibuprofen is actually fine up until late 2nd trimester. Google kind of upholds that, although there are older articles about miscarriage risks. I have been sticking with Tylenol for headaches, but it was interesting he said that ibuprofen was fine right now.

The only thing I really stay clear of is alcohol...and unapproved medications ..I don't have time for no lists..I think last time I lived on sandwiches and stuff.
My first pregnancy I was a total stickler. No deli meat, no soft cheese, very limited coffee, etc. I was miserable and constantly stressed over accidentally eating something that was going to make me keel over instantly. I wanted deli meat so badly, we had Jimmy Johns deliver to the hospital the night I had DS.
Second pregnancy, I was like, polar opposite. Everything in moderation. There was a massive spinach recall that hit close to us, so I avoided that for most of it, but that's about it.

I was super cautious with my first. This time, not so much. I would be drinking coffee, except I can't stomach it... so I have a Red Bull a day instead. Pretty sure that breaks all the rules, but at least it has a lot of B6 to help with nausea?
I barely took medication with my first. Wouldn't even take gravol except a handful of times. Now I pop the gravol without thinking, plus a handful of other things that my psychiatrist gave me.
I hate deli meat, but I love salad.
And I'm riding horses until I feel my balance going, or other symptoms interfere.
