MH is working today, so it's just me and my DS. We had a playdate at this really fun baby play place, but the other mom cancelled yesterday. I might take a trip to Carters since they are having their Presidents Day Sale this weekend (50% off!).
Other than that, pretty lazy day for us. I need to start purging a bunch of crap I have laying around the house. My biggest challenge over the next 9 months is figuring out how to have a toddler, newborn, 2 cats, a dog, and MH and me in a two bedroom house.
hey! Good morning DS is on a marathon nap (I'm raelly liking this new trend) so I got a rest while DH is in his studio. After that, stick in the laundry and head out to do grocery shopping. It's DSs 1st birthday next Friday so I'm trying to get some decorations together as well
adouces06, I hear you on decluttering!!! Sorely needed here too :/ we have 3 bedrooms and no pets btu we're going to move around December so it needs to be done now!
WittyLittle it's awful. My house is a legit disaster all the time. DS' birthday is in 2 weeks, so I need to get all the stuff for that plus clean the house since we are having it here. Are you doing a theme for your LO's birthday?! We are having a lumberjack bash!

I've been on a de-cluttering roll lately. I went through my closet and dresser last night and got rid of 94 pieces of clothing! That felt good. Need to tackle our basement storage room next.
DD has dance this morning. Afternoon will be spent cleaning the house. We're going over to a friend's house for dinner and board games. They have 2 boys DD'S age and they get along great.
I'm still in bed since H took puppy duty this morning. We're planning on doing our usual grocery thing and hitting up Lane Bryant for some new bras because the ones I bought 3 weeks ago are too small. IVF meds are no joke. We also have a 3 year olds birthday party tomorrow.
Good morning! We had blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast this morning. DD "helped" me cook. Still drinking my coffee now. And I have a massage scheduled for 12:00! My hips and back have been hurting so I am really looking forward to it!
I think I am going to swing by a kids store to buy DD a Big Sister shirt and take a pic of DD in it to send to my parents today or tomorrow. They know we were TTC and my mom said we didn't have to wait to tell them this time (last time we only waited til 6 weeks). I won't be seeing them for another 4 weeks so I don't want to wait that long.
We told DD last night that she is going to be a big sister and I am hoping she doesn't remember and tell people at church tomorrow! Etf typo
I woke up at 5:30 and folded laundry (lame), then played with DS when he got up an hour later (fun), then finally joined a gym after Mh got up. Now I'm counting the minutes until nap time for DS (and me).
Later on, I want pick out appetizers to make for the Super Bowl. We aren't doing anything for it, but I'll take any excuse I can to eat guacamole for dinner.
Question for moms of boys: I have to get my son his first haircut because the back of his hair is growing way faster than the top, and he sort of looks like he has a mullet. I'm going to bring him to one of those kid's haircut places. Do I have to tell them to cut it a specific way, or will they know what to do?? I know nothing about how to cut boys hair haha

Hahah first thing our hairdresser said with DS was "leeeeeet's get rid of that mullet shall we???" Most of them know what to do! Sometimes they ask you what you'd like but you don't need to come in with a specific style in mind
(Btw no theme for birthday party! Just an old skool traditional birthday party! niiiice and easy hehehe)
adouces06 - I agree, the hairdresser usually knows what to do. I just said "a trim please" and she did her thing. Good luck!
We had DS's 2nd birthday party today. We did a Mickey Mouse theme because he's obsessed. It was only us and the grandparents so we just did pizza, cake and presents. It was fun!
Woke up to the news that my SIL is in labor. She was due Monday, so I'm sure she's happy.
Spent the morning cleaning, as this means the in-laws will be staying with us for the next few days. Yay.
Feeling a bit raw today. I would be due in 2 weeks. Her going into labor, as happy as I am to get another nephew, it just leaves me in a weird place emotionally.
Going to go look at washers and dryers in a bit and probably go out to eat.
My dad is leaving tomorrow morning - he got the job, but they weren't offering him enough to survive in a metro area so he's heading home tomorrow. We are about to make some Indian food and watch BBC Sherlock since he hasn't seen all the episodes. Been wanting to tell him all week I am pregnant, but managed to keep it a secret.
DH gets home tomorrow - I'm glad. I wanna be excited about it with someone.
Also - we are telling our friends this is a "surprise" baby to limit questions about TTC while actively adopting (our first plan), but I was an idiot and forgot to keep with our story of not using BC for a month, and instead told a friend we conceived on BC. -_- So I now I have to keep up with this charade. Bleh.
