I found a recipe on Pinterest that says to cook a whole chicken in a Dutch oven but I don't have one. Can I just use a Pyrex baking dish? I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff!
All this childcare talk makes me glad I'll be work from home when baby gets here. H and I are still planning to find some part time day care anyway since I have to travel occasionally for work and it makes no sense for him to have to take an entire week off work for that, but it makes it a little less stressful to not have to worry about whether there's a spot right away or not.

Usually you'd use a dutch oven over an open fire like a campfire or something.
In theory, I don't see why you couldn't cook a whole chicken in a pyrex dish. I've done roasts and ribs and such in them. I'd keep in mind the cooking time might be different.
serendipity731, I am not a cooking expert, but I think Dutch ovens are designed to be able to go on the stovetop and in the oven itself. If the recipe requires cooking on the stovetop, I would NOT use a pyrex dish for that. I would use a saucepan, wok, or stockpot that is designed for the stovetop and then either transfer to the pyrex dish for baking or keep it in the pan if your pan is also oven-safe. I used a stockpot in place of a Dutch oven for some turkey chili that I made, and it turned out just fine.

I 100% did not think of the fact that there might be a stovetop component to the recipe. Definitely go with this. Maybe a deep cast iron skillet if you have one?

Cast iron skillet is an excellent suggestion! I don't have one, so it didn't even cross my mind, but it probably mimics a Dutch oven better than other pots and pans.
There's a small town in my county that has a fundraiser for their FFA program this weekend... it's a basketball game in which all the players are riding donkeys.
Apparently the donkeys are trained to do this and travel the country doing it.

I bought some new maternity jeans this morning because all of mine from my previous pregnancy are too long. I think I just didn't care last pregnancy but I would actually like to look cute this time around. Thankfully there is a maternity consignment shop nearby so I'm going to "trade."
I just made two big batches of brownies. Most of them are for my small group tonight. I think we all know the real reason I baked them though.
My FFFC is that I ate an entire quart of ice cream this week. Baby has a major sweet tooth.

So does this mean you'll work from home while taking care of the baby? I also WFH but have DD in daycare during the day. I'm totally impressed if you are able to manage both!!
Last night for dinner I ordered from a place called "Mexican Italian pizzeria." Yup, you read that right. I can order tacos, mozzarella sticks, guacamole and garlic knots all from the same place. I was in craving heaven. I ordered like 5 full meals for my h and I so I'll have my choice of deliciousness for a few days.
I had to move my u/s appointment from Wednesday to Friday for a work thing. Totally bummed, I can't wait to see this little guy/girl. Oh well, I took the day off so will probably get a massage and nails done. Overall a great day!

It wouldn't be ideal, but it's an option if we can't line up child care. Most of my job is designing curriculum and handling written communications to our employees, so my work hours are flexible, particularly with my team being on the east coast. Worst case scenario I'd get three straight hours of work in from 5:30am to about 8:30am when H leaves for work with him taking care of the baby, and then hopefully be able to get a few more hours in over the course of the day while he's gone.
I'll admit it's probably 50-50 of it blowing up in my face and not working, but it's my backup plan for now. At least while baby is an infant and (hopefully) sleeping a lot.
H manages an Early Head Start program that we're hoping to get into - it's only part time every day, but it's 9am to 2pm. So I could work 5:30am to 1:30pm (no lunch hour) and pick the baby up by 2pm. H could work 9am to 5:30pm and drop the baby off (since the program's in the same building as his office).

I think it's awesome that your job is flexible and you might be able to manage both. Childcare is expensive!
I'm *considering* telling my job that I'll continue on working for a few/several weeks into my maternity. It'll be our busiest season and I feel terrible that they just put me in this role, and now I'm pregnant. I wondered if anyone else had done it, and was also thinking I might be able to manage if the baby is sleeping a lot and if I have some help. The big kid will definitely stay in daycare.
Having great child care options is such a blessing! Our sitter is KU right now, so we're meeting a potential alternate (for during the sitter's maternity leave) next week. I hope our search will end there...and I also hope our sitter will take baby2 when she'll have a nine-month-old of her own! Oh god, I'd better tell her soon because I might need to look for other alternatives!

I just want to know who thought of this idea?
My school used to do this every year. Im not a sports person but watching out teachers try to ride donkeys was always entertaining.

Im quiting my job once I get so far into the pregnancy from there I'll start selling things from home and helping my mom selling her homemade soaps and stuff. Everyone at work keeps trying to get me to stay. Fuck that. I hate that job.

The OB Nurse I had my appointment with told me I could take a Benadryl at night if the stuffy/runny nose and sneezing were interfering with my ability to sleep. I'm going to try not to take it, but I picked some up in case I get worse at all.
Happily she also confirmed that I can eat any cheeses I want as long as their pasteurized (I LOVE blue cheese on a big o'l bacon cheeseburger) and to go ahead and eat cold cuts from reputable places which is great since I've been craving a turkey grinder with mayo, lettuce, and pickles all week.
On a disappointing note, as I was starting to expect, the doppler didn't arrive today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Grinder! I love it! I thought I was the only one who calls it that.

Haha, definitely not. That's all I call them! I know you're a Pats fan - are you a New Englander?

My husband gave me my Valentine's Day present early: a custom box of chocolate from this really great local chocolatier. YASSS! And he brought home a second smaller box of different flavors he just thought would be fun to try. So far I've tried lavender caramel (made my mouth itch, but worth it), Aporkalypse (Carmel made with bacon fat and bacon bits covered in dark chocolate), passion fruit caramel, a strawberry passion fruit mousse chocolate cup, a homemade peanut butter cup, pumpkin spice caramel, raspberry ganache, blueberry Bon Bon, and a marionberry jam filled dark chocolate. I think there may have been more but I'm losing track.
