BabyStandish You'll have to let me know how the hemorrhoid suppositories work. I almost bought them last week, but was kind of put off by the idea of having to push those suckers past the hemorrhoids.
When I used them while pregnant- I would push the roids back in during my shower and then immediately put the suppository in once I was out. If you're no longer bleeding, make sure you at least have a pantiliner on for any leakage of the suppository.
I hope that when people come over to visit and they use our restroom that they don't look in the trash can with all the gross PP pads in it. It probably looks like I killed someone. I can't wait to no longer have to use pads!
I'm so sick of using pads. I'm at least glad I'm using pretty thin ones now, but I still feel like I'm wearing a diaper.
I've been in thin ones since the morning after he was born; the moment I showered, the hospital underwear and pads weren't touched again--I used the "overnight" thin ones after that until I got home then moved to "regular." So sick of them. I guess this is payback for not having a period for the past 9 months but still. Ugh!
With my first, I bled/had lochia the full 6 weeks. My second, 3 weeks.

My bathroom at the hospital looked like that after I finally got out of the bed following delivery. FFIL and FMIL both went to use it after being specifically told not to by the nurse. Welp, they learned their lesson (especially since the nurses were measuring how much I went-- *that* I didn't expect!)

Yeah, I didn't realize I'd need a panty liner for my ass too. Awesome.
Five days after surgery, I still hadn't pooped, and was in a lot of pain because of it. So I finally called my doc, and per his advice used an enema. Not pleasant but worked! The best part- my mom gave it to me. Just lovely.
So maybe this is more embarrassing than tmi but we spent the afternoon at my in-laws ranch and my 17 year old BIL was out with friends so my MIL told me to use his room to pump. I went into his bathroom because I felt awkward just chillin on his bed. Well he decided to come home early because his baby niece was over and he definitely walked in on me pumping... we just left their house and instead of a hug goodbye we did a fist bump lol

Luckily my bathroom trash can at the hospital had a lid. So the 100 people that used it when they visited didn't have to see that haha.

I feel like I need to poop but I'm scared. I've already failed twice so far today. Haven't tried since putting the suppository in though so maybe it'll be easier?
My poop was so ridiculous today it took me 10 minutes to unclog the toilet. Also, my midwife has suggested taking a look down below since I hemorrhaged and needed 3 hours of stitching...but I am way too terrified. I know there's a problem area they missed due to swelling, but I'm in denial and don't want to see how bad it is.

Me too! My ILs came over today and I was yelling at DH to change the bathroom garbage from my nursing chair just before they got here. It was practically overflowing with grossness.
You know you have horrible hemorrhoids when the day nurse congratulates you on them going down and the night nurse exclaims "sweet Jesus! " When she checks you for the first time. With my first I didn't even have them so I guess I get the worst case the second time around. My only saving grace is all of the stool softeners they gave me allowed me to have a non traumatic first bowel movement so life isn't horrible, its just super swollen.
Well, I know it's now Wednesday, but here's an update for a previous statement I made. I finally grabbed a mirror and checked everything out down there... just ew. I hope at some point it all goes back to normal and it's not going to be stuck like this...

It didn't always work, but most of the time, it definitely made me spend some quality time with the toilet for a good 30 minutes
All this talk of hemorrhoids....I am happy I had a csection for that reason....my b-hole is ok!
Mine are all from pregnancy. They were actually a lot better the moment this kid was out and I started getting some circulation back down there. Then again, I pushed for 20 minutes max so that could have contributed to that as well.

In hindsight A C section might have been easier on recovery, I had a huge blood hemmorage where a doctor had to rush into my room and manually remove my clots which contribute to my swelling in general and then he had to administer medication to get my uterus to contract and I guess he had to push them past my hemorrhoids so maybe that aggravated them as well. I'm also thinking that since I had been bleeding so much I didn't get to use tucks or anything to keep down swelling and them I was stuck laying on my back for 24 hours. I know all of this is tmi, but in the spirit of the thread :-) Basically this type of hemorrhaging is rare so I could not have expected it in advance.
My hemorrhoid problems both started in pregnancy. I guess some of us are just lucky like that.
Mine was during delivery. I managed to get through my pregnancy without them, then pushing for 2.5 hours apparently wrecked my booty. I was a mess afterward! I also busted capillaries on my face and blood vessels in my eyes. My eyes are just getting back to normal, now if my bottom would just follow suit!
Speaking of hemorrhoids, mine are shrinking. Waahoo!!
If you don't mind my asking how long has it been and were you prescribed any special treatment like hydrocortisone or using tucks etc? I received some special prescription foam so I'm curious how well it works vs tucks and rest etc.

It's the TMI thread; I don't mind.
First one developed at 13 weeks pregnant. The remainder at 31/32 weeks when DS dropped. They got worse at 35 weeks when he dropped again and stayed that way though shrunk a small amount right at the end. I had no new ones following labor/delivery; I didn't even notice them. I still don't notice them often. It's more that I have the habit of pushing them back in when I shower that I still do that.
During pregnancy, I used tucks pads, suppositories, prep H cream, hot water, and dermaplast for the pain when it was really bad. Since delivery, I haven't done any of that or anything new. Just rest, upping water intake, and taking daily colace.

ETA: currently 16 days PP
Thanks, I had one small one before l&d but now they're really bad, do hopefully I have a chance of them going down, I should go drink some water, already on a regimen of colace due to having to take iron. However I will say all of this is worth it to have a sweet baby napping next to me!
