People trying to find things that could go wrong with my kids.
SIL was just here and said she wouldn't be surprised if DD has ADD down the road because her daughter was diagnosed at 5. I know there's a slight risk that my kids might also get it but I'd rather a professional do an assessment.
My mom also tries to find things wrong with DD. Part of me thinks she wants to make me look like a bad mother.
Although I don't think it's irrational to be irritated by any of this.
That's shitty!! I would be angry too. What bitches!!

I don't see anything irrational about these irritations. This is just way out of bounds.

Healthcare workers who use a condescending tone to speak to patients. Just talk like a normal person.
My husband never heats up a freaking pan before he cooks on the stove. He just puts bacon in a cold pan and then turns the stove on!!!
I thought that's how you're supposed to cook bacon. It's what A does and he cures his own bacon.
It's not just bacon; it's everything. I always heat up the pan so that it sizzles when you put it in. I have found that it doesn't turn out as good that way.

Lol... my dad puts water in pot, puts noodles in, turns stove on medium low, and lets them cook that way. I'm all "dad, its a lot faster if you bring the pot to a boil and then add the noodles!"
I'm also irritated with my cat, and the doors in my house. Aside from MIL's room and the bathroom, none of the other bedroom doors click shut. So they will close but can be easily pushed open. Our cat keeps getting into DS's room. She only really goes underneath his crib or lays on the rocking chair, but I feel like it wakes him up at times.
I hate it when people keep repeating my name over and over in a conversation.
I'm horrible with names, so if I'm just meeting you the choices are: have me repeat your name a million times in the conversation or have me walk away with no clue what your name was.
For some reason early genetic testing and finding out baby sex irritates me. Eta- this reads oddly. Early testing that is necessary, but finding out what you're having at that point just feels too soon to me.
I agree with this to some degree. If you're going to find out you will find out eventually. I don't think there is a huge difference in knowing at week 13 or week 18. It isn't an irritation it is more of an I don't get it.
Like the ones who schedule an elective ultrasound SUPER EARLY and then get pissed when the tech can't give them a definitive answer on the sex. Just wait a few more weeks...
But this is coming from a person who is firmly team green.
SIL thinking she has a say in how many kids H and I are going to have. I was told yesterday that I need to make more nieces and nephews for her because we make beautiful babies.
I shut that down quickly. Can't we just enjoy the new baby that is still pretty fresh out of the womb for now before people bug us for another?
Besides, H and I feel like we're finished reproducing.

I do not do this... I also don't preheat the oven all the time.
If I'm baking I preheat the oven, but if I'm cooking meat or heating leftovers I put them in a cold oven then turn it on, especially if it's really cold.

I HATE this! They think they are giving you a complement and I just want to shoot them. Regardless of our plans, just stop and enjoy the baby in front of us. It was a lot of work to get to this point and they deserve to be treasured just the way they are.
My MIL took it to the next level. At exact 6 weeks each time she called to tell me that now I can start trying for a boy. (We have three girls.)

Remind that b that her son is the determining factor for girl vs. boy.

I get the opposite from my MIL. We cannot have more kids because she doesn't have enough room on her wall to hang up another Christmas stocking...

I am irritated by people who are irritated by when you find out. It's a personal preference. If you want to know asap, why is it more valuable to wait until week 20?
