tikoberry99, tootsie, As long as it's flash frozen (and it is because we can't get fresh fish in the U.S. For shit) you're good. Eat all the sushi! Except maybe smoked stuff? I remember reading something somewhere, but it's gone amidst baby and pregnancy brain.
Have you "sushi is gross" people eaten sushi? I usually hear that from people who have never tried it and are just grossed out by the concept. I'm asking out of curiosity, not judgement. To each their own!

I was like this, until I tried some! I stick to the cooked stufff. Shrimp Tempura or California rolls mostly. Nothing raw in them so I can deal with that. Start small, people! Sushi is great!

Like I said in my earlier response, I'm not a fan of fish and the taste & texture of seaweed grosses me out for some reason. I've definitely given sushi a chance on multiple occasions (DH loves the stuff), but I always ended up gagging after a couple pieces haha I tried so hard to like it too because I love the spicy mayo!

Totally missed your post. You made an A+ effort at least

I have never tried it. I don't like fish....grosses me out. I also don't eat Asian food because it upsets my stomach. I got really sick after a Japanese hibachi grill experience.

I have tried it but it's been awhile. I'm also with mcktymck in that I don't like fish. I've tried it but just no. Shrimp also is gross. No seafood for me.

It works out in the end, we go to a fun sushi place that sends the sushi around on little boats. DH gets his sushi fix and I eat the chicken skewers, pot stickers, and inari! DH is hoping this baby loves sushi so that they can enjoy it together

That is such a shame! I love basically all Asian-type foods. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hawaiian. I could probably live off those foods for the rest of my life and be happy haha

We drink at my work all the time, like anytime we have a meeting after 3PM there better be alcohol or no-one is coming.
My boss and I have been trying to schedule a meeting forever and it just hasn't worked out so we're getting a drink after work today. I'm so excited for a glass of wine.
my old principal surprised us with wine and beer in the staff room the first PA day after report cards were due last year.

I'm so sad for you
It was good when I ate it. Now I cringe when I think about it.
Ray that sucks you have four more weeks of bed rest! I hope everything is okay.I'm sure everyone could come up with a list of TV shows to get into if you need!
TheTuna15, sarcaztic10, they basically said that while being on bedrest I've stabilized, which is good, but I haven't improved at all. So they're not about to take me off if that's what's keeping me stable at this point basically. They said that baby is doing very well though and doesn't seem impacted by anything at this point and they'd like to keep it that way. They added a restriction that I'm not allowed to be in a car for more than 30 mins at a time. Not sure what that's about. But I'm allowed to walk out into the yard to let me dogs pee during the day now so I'm sure they will be happy about that.
My principal seems not happy but I don't really give a shit at this point. Not my job to figure out the details of who is teaching and what they are teaching while I'm gone.

Ray, I'm so sorry for more bed rest. Glad baby is doing well though, and hopefully you will get better news at your next appt. The car thing seems weird. I know you are supposed to get up and walk around frequently (like if you are on a plane) to keep the blood flowing and such so a car would be similar, but if you are on bed rest anyway, the car thing seems odd.
Sucks about your principal too. It's not like you are choosing to have these complications. I get his/her frustration in having to scramble to figure things out, but I doubt the school will shut down in your absence. I know we are all awesome people, but really we are all replaceable at work.

I'm sorry @ray! Maybe you could start on Amazon Prime tv?
Speaking of sushi, I went to the grocery for the first time since nov! No puking or nausea! But, I wanted to strangle the guy who kept trying to offer me crab sushi!
Ray I'm sorry about the bedrest. Hopefully you find something to keep you entertained, I was bored out of my mine during my stints with DD and DS.
DS turns 4 this weekend and I guess we are getting him a chameleon. So I get to go tomorrow after my appointment and get all the equipment.
Is he into chameleons?
He's been asking for a lizard. I grew up with iguanas and had them before having kids, but they are very high maintenance and not small kid friendly. Top two choices for a smaller lizard would be bearded dragon or chameleon and he saw both at the pet store and liked the chameleon. While they are harder to get the environment right, they require less hands on than a beardie so that's the reason we decided on a chameleon. He doesn't know we are getting it, but he's asked non stop for a week if he can have one.
