TheTuna15 his parents are very strange people. They are a very quiet family who doesn't talk. MIL doesn't believe that packaged food expires. My family is very loud an is always talking. Basically my family and his family would never get along and its best that they just never meet. my family has absolutely no desire to see his family. H's parents have expressed interest in meeting my parents several times in the past but we brush them off and I think they have finally given up.
sarcaztic10, Gotcha, so it would be weird AF. Are you guys going to try to do smaller events once the little is here instead of big parties (christening, birthdays, etc) to avoid them meeting, or is it a case of in a crowd it's fine but for a dinner GTFO? And tell me to fuck off if I'm being obtrusive. My family is certifiable, so I always think of family dynamics as interesting.

My family has never been into big or even small events so if we were thrown any sort of party or shower they just wouldn't come. H's mom threw us a baby shower for DS that I didn't even go to, it was basically a party for her. At the time we lived in SC and couldn't make it to IL for the shower since I was pretty far along. For this one I doubt there will be any kind of gathering since we still live in a different state. We still haven't told his parents I am PG. My mom has known since I got a BFP and my dad and brother figured it out awhile ago just by talking to me in the phone. When we tell H's parents I doubt they will want another party where no one shows up.
