Yesterday was a super long day & I had to get to work a couple hours early this morning, I feel like I hardly had any time at home. Hopefully wrapping up a big project today and then I can take tomorrow off.

I had my 24-week appointment today. To join the weight gain discussion from the other day, I've gained almost 30 pounds, so that's awesome. There was discussion of "healthy snacks" and "fewer carbs." I actually think I usually do okay with food choices, but how does one wean from sugar addiction while pregnant? No thank you.
I have been fighting with my three year old about pants. Pants!!! She will not wear jeans. So I bought denim like leggings and she still pouted for an hour before putting them on. Ugh. I work at 2 today so we are hanging out at home.
How are you ladies surviving without pants? It's far too cold here to not where pants. I have like 10 maternity pants (jeans, thicker leggings, etc).
I have some sort of head cold thing going on. I don't really have a runny nose or anything just a gnarly headache and pressure in my head when I bend over. It might be from starring at a computer screen too much.
Unless you include tights, I haven't worn pants since October (maybe early November). I never bought maternity pants or maternity jeans. I only have maternity dresses and skirts. I can still wear my pre-pregnancy tights, but I can only wear tights on the weekends (they aren't considered work appropriate here). So basically I wear a dress or a skirt every day. It's cold here but I wear pantyhose and riding boots most days which cover my legs.
manybellsdown, I'm with you on the sugar intake. I never had a sweet tooth until I got pregnant. Now I'd rather have hot chocolate instead of coffee in the morning and a donut instead of a bagel. I crave cookies and ice cream all day long.
babyzebra, I've never posted a YouTube video, but it's prob not that difficult. I'd imagine you need to create an account, go to upload video then attach like you would a photo. Granted I haven't actually done this, so I could be 100% wrong.

I'm having pants drama too. All except two pairs of maternity pants are already too small (thanks giant bump) and the closest place to buy maternity tights/stockings is 15 miles away - so no stopping during the week when I rip mine (as i did yesterday. Monday was shit). I've outgrown all except one comfortable pair of mat jeans too. I HATE the price gouging of maternity clothes and have already scoured my second hand shops. I feel screwed.
bighair12 - my DD won't wear denim at all either. Only those stretchy pants. Such is life.

I bought one pair of maternity jeans and one pair of dressier maternity slacks and I have worn those two pairs of pants every single day since about 10 weeks. The jeans probably get worn at least 5 days per week. I'm hoping to get through the pregnancy without buying anything more. I should get some maternity tights (my non-maternity ones are AWFUL) but it's definitely too cold for skirts/dresses right now. I'll want them come April/May though.
My H says I should keep wearing my maternity jeans after delivery because they fit better than my regular ones. He's right - I have (well, HAD would be more appropriate now) a curvy figure so 100% of pants gape enormously on me at the waist if bought large enough to cover my hips/ass/thighs. The elastic band at the waist is awesome!

@manybells my last pregnancy my dr had the healthy eating talk with me at every appointment. I ate healthy but when I wanted something not healthy I would indulge. They wanted me to gain 15-20lbs. I ended up gaining 58lbs. Yup 58. I was healthy and DS was healthy and that was all that mattered in the end. As long as you are not causing health problems for you or baby just take it with a grain of salt. This pregnancy I haven't heard one word about weight gain. Thank god.
I was just thinking this morning that I'm so glad that leggings are in style right now, because there's no way that I'm lasting another few months having to wear jeans, and at least I can be comfortable and still kind of stylish. Thankfully, we have a casual dress code, so leggings and a dress or sweater is totally work appropriate.

I am super excited because my coworker, that I work very closely with, told me she is pregnant!! She MC right before I announced I was pregnant. I felt awful and she's been super supportive but I can only imagine how difficult it has been for her working with me every day. She is only 10 weeks so I have everything crossed that everything goes well for her this time.
I also got a good laugh during a meeting this morning. I'm very obviously pregnant at this point. Apparently the wife of one of the guys I met with is due in May and someone else made the comment about the office "baby boom" since there are a few others expecting too. He asked me "oh, you're pregnant too?" I laughed and was like, um yeah...
I give him props though for following the rule that you never assume!

I enjoy this convo. I am a pants person but totally over it. I get cold without them though! And tights are MORE uncomfortable--am I doing tights/leggings wrong? What's the best brand?
Luckily I work from home three days per week, so stretchy comfy pants are the majority of my wardrobe.
I am catching up from yesterday, but one of my favorite points in my last pregnancy was when my belly was so big that I couldn't see the scale read out. I go with the assumption that my doctor will tell me if I need to control my weight, I don't need to know the number.

manybellsdown, I like the Old Navy low-rise maternity leggings for hanging out at home and the ones linked below are my current "leave the house" leggings. I've only had them a few weeks but so far they're holding up pretty well and they're super comfortable. I'm wearing them right now actually!
babyzebra, love it! Except they need to add some postpartum pictures to the chart. After I had DS, I was totally asked about 4 weeks postpartum when I was due. "Ummm, 4 weeks ago??"

Lol Seriously! I was touring daycares with DS when he was about 5 weeks old and one of the teachers (male of course) made a comment about having one and one on the way. I said nope that's just the extra donuts I ate while growing this one.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for maternity yoga pants? I need some lounge wear! I'm currently rotating through 2 pairs of black work pants, 1 pair of jeans I like, 1 pair of jeans I don't really like, and leggings that get worn as tights ... Or around the house. My preference as my belly gets bigger is dresses though, last pregnancy I HATED fabric on my belly, so I've tried not to buy too much this time around.
I still fit into my regular yoga pants and suspect I will continue to for a while. They were probably a size too large pre-pregnancy. Maybe just get a normal pair one size up? The key is a low waist, which I find most yoga pants have.

No problem! I figured that if I didn't like them or if they were complete crap, I was only out $10. And amazon's return policy is pretty awesome if they don't work.
2dogs2kids, I wonder what people are thinking sometimes. If I had been by myself when I was asked, I would get it because I definitely still had a belly at that point. But DS was with me so I very obviously had a newborn!
That pic is hilarious. I still get people (mostly men) pretending not to notice that I'm pregnant out of politeness and fear of being wrong. I find it laughable because I'm so obviously pregnant. But I guess its better to be safe than sorry. I'd be really pissed if someone thought I was pregnant and I wasn't. I find men to be more reserved with their remarks; while women feel free to make all kinds of comments about my belly (i.e. "Are you carrying twins?" "You must be 7 or 8 months." "You're carrying big." "That's a big baby.")
