frecklesnbrains A good LC is a good plan and they will definitely help more with specific issues that arise than a generalized class if you are already familiar with the ins and outs of BF.
I didn't take a breastfeeding class when I was pregnant with DS since they didn't offer one anywhere in my town, but I did read The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding: La Leche League. I found it very informative and the version I read was from the '80's, so I imagine the newer version would have more info. I would recommend it if anyone was interested in reading about breastfeeding.

The reason I'm using the PISA again is because I still have mine from DS and I have all of the accessories (tote, battery/car pack, etc) to go with it and can get a new pump through insurance this time. So, I can leave one at work and one at home. It worked last time, so I kinda don't want to mess with something that worked.
I'm going to try and get the Spectra 2 this time. I'm not sure insurance covers it, I know they cover the Spectra 9. I have the PISA, but o don't respond well to pumps and thought maybe the spectra may work better.
I've breastfed both girls and it was different each time. DD1 was a quick nurser...she'd feed for 7 minutes on one side. Then be done. I did not pump often as she would not take a bottle. DD2 was a bit of a lazy nurser and I never quite knew if she was full. I also had low supply ( I was an undiagnosed hypothyroid which I've heard can lower supply). I pumped a lot as I tried to improve supply and she would take a bottle.
I actually enjoy breastfeeding for the most part. Especially in the beginning. I also like that I'm the only one who can do it. Which means when there is a family gathering or we have visitors, I can escape and spend some one on one with baby. (Also known as get away from MIL )

This is one of the things I liked most about BF. I don't like that if you don't BF everyone and their brother wants to and thinks they are entitled to feed baby all the time. Everyone knows that BF is a great way to bond with baby, so what if you don't BF you don't need or want or get to bond with baby? I liked that BF gave me more control. When I needed time with DS I could use it as an excuse to get away with him when he was getting passed around like a football. Maybe I was just a crazy FTM but I really needed that little bit of control especially with an overbearing MIL.
