I was so swamped with work the past two weeks that I didn't participate in the AMAs and now I feel bad about asking questions in the new ones. I don't want people to think I prefer some members over others :/ #overthinkingitprobably
Re: people peddling crap, I absolutely hate when people say they're "running their own business" when they're selling Jamberry or Arbonne or what not. No, you're part of a pyramid scheme. You did not create Arbonne.
THIS EXACTLY.
I have a SAHM friend who sells stuff who's always going on about she supports other moms' 'businesses' by buying stuff from them and we should all be doing the same.
Except Arbonne, 31, Stela & Dot, etc is actually getting most of the money. I'd be happy to buy someone's handmade stuff from a craft fair or Etsy, pay a local mom to pick my kid up from school, give my kid piano lessons, do my hair, whatever, and feel good about supporting a local person's small business. Buying from MLMs is NOT the same.
the other night DH and I were both up because DS had a night terror. After we got him back down we had sex. Well, right after I finished DS had another one. DH went up to help him and I rolled over and went to sleep. Sorry not sorry DH! Oops

This bothers me. I know some of those women make decent money working for companies like that. However, that's still not your business. IDC how much money you make. When I worked for the steel company, I didn't walk around saying that it was my company because working there paid my bills. You're like a pharmaceutical sales rep just with clothes, cosmetics, and accessories.
Also, if people want your shit, then they will contact you. I post pictures of my kid on IG and I show people her picture. A. Lot. Never have I had to say to someone "do you see this awesome thing she's wearing? I made that. You need one." If someone is interested they will ask, I will tell them I made it, then they purchase. I'm really open about what I do because I'm proud of it and I've worked really hard at it. I'm sorry but doing sales for a larger company is not that difficult in comparison.
I'm eating my yogurt with the same plastic spoon I've been using for probably 2 months. I don't wash, just lick it clean and put it back in my drawer I'm disgusting.
No! I will send you a metal spoon and some dish soap so you can have a clean spoon each day!

I think essential oils are crap. That's great if they work for you but I don't need them being pushed onto me as the cure for XYZ. Not my thing.
I am the opposite....I think that essential oils are rad. But then again, I am not putting them all over my body, I like to put them in the diffuser. I was a Scentsy buyer, until I got sick of how strong the smells were. Now I have a diffuser in our house, and we will put some lemongrass in it in the kitchen (or sometimes sweet orange), to freshen it if we cooked something that left a strong smell. Or we will put it in DD's room with a little lavender in it, if she is going through a crappy sleeping rut at night. When we are sick, we are all wanting the eucalyptus going in our bedroom at night.
However, I never mention them on any social media where people know me personally, because I don't want to deal with people trying to sell them to me.

My aunt is a naturopathic "doctor" meaning she got an online certificate from a for profit school that has been involved in several lawsuits. She is always trying to push her pseudoscience "medicines" on me for things like my diabetes. Most of them are highly controversial and some are outright dangerous. I try to be nice when dealing with her but it drives me crazy that people out there believe her crap. You can't tell people to stop taking their meds for kidney failure and just use essential oils and herbs.
