This is a major AW for me but since salary stuff is not generally talked about at work I can't share with anyone!!! My husband and I moved last year for me to take new job and to be closer to family. It was kind of a gamble, but a really good opportunity for me.. Unfortunately they recently announced that our company froze salaries this year so no raises which was a blow and was going to suck after ditching our old jobs.. I was given my salary and bonus information at work today and while I'm not getting a % increase, I am getting a one time increase (basically it doesn't effect my base rate so it's a way of getting around the no increase rule) and a really nice bonus - enough to basically cover my unpaid maternity leave this year. I've been at a company that didn't do bonuses for the last several years so I'm in shock today.....
Congrats!!! thiscoffeechick I definitely look pregnant I have even had a few people touch my stomach already lol
No one has touched yet but I am definitely aware of the knowing/questioning looks.. We are telling people but I'm not shouting it everywhere I go yet.
My muscles obviously haven't recovered from DS because they just gave up trying to hold anything in about 3 days ago. I've been in maternity pants for a couple weeks.
If someone tries to touch my bump they'll be pulling back a nub.
My plan for this situation has always been to immediately place my hand on that person's belly and when they get weird, say "oh I just thought we were touching each other's bellies." I almost wish someone would because I really want to try it, haha.
I've been wearing a lot of dresses to hide my blump. I don't want people to know yet! As soon as people found out I was pregnant with DS, all the questions about circumcision and religion and every other parenting choice that is none of their damn business started flooding in. I'm so not in the mood.

danielle I'm so not looking forward to the unsolicited advice and weird/personal questions! I think it's so weird for people to ask about our plans for our kids penis lol and religion is best to not talk about, what is wrong with some people?!
serendipity731 I kid you not, a minimum of 30 people asked me the circ question when I was pregnant with DS. Mostly people who would never even meet my child, let alone see his penis!
Congratulations on your healthy babies thiscoffeechick and pismoduo! Congratulations on your raise/not really a raise jennybeans! You can shout it from the rooftop here For all the unsolicited advice that is sure to come, it's so weird that just because people can see your condition, they feel like it's okay to be involved like that. I wonder if those same people would weigh in on choice of treatment for some other condition...oh I see you're going bald. Are you going to do hair transplants?

That's soooo bizarre. I would never think of asking that, nor would I ever care if someone was circumcizing their kid!
Yay for healthy baby pismoduo ! Did they tell you the sex or are you team green?
We just did an ultrasound and some blood test that looked only at my DNA, not the harmony or the maternti21 or whatever that one is.
But we're definitely going to be finding out, assuming this kid cooperates at the AS more than it did at the NT. Kid is just completely chill about everything. Doesn't care if I cough, laugh, jiggle around a bit. Nope, just gonna chill.

Pretty sure asking about someone's child's genitalia is like... super goddamn creepy.
And if ever asked by anyone about it, I think I'm going to just look at them and say "Thank you for your concern, but might I recommend you find another hobby other than asking about children's genitalia?"
Or I'll just think it, because as sassy as my internal monologue is, I'm too damn non-confrontational in real life.

I regularly think I should channel my inner Lorelai Gilmore but mostly end up nodding, smiling and walking away.

So weird that people legitimately ask about circumcision IRL. I never had that happen with ZombieBoy. It was a big deal on message boards, but literally the only person who asked me about it offline was my BFF, who noticed he wasn't circumcised during a diaper change she was helping me out with and casually asked why we chose not to.
