My ILs still have my daughter and I'm not going back to work til Friday at least. So I'm laying on the couch. I have a physical therapy intake appointment today and an orthopedics appointment Saturday. I don't even know how I'm how I'm going to handle my daughter.
The good news is that I haven't had any contractions in the last 24 hours!
Can your inlaws do a sleep over? That really helped me with ds when I was super sick.
Glad you have been contraction free for 24 hours!!!
My ribs are soooo sore. I know its still too early for baby girl to really be the one that's all up in there, but everything else that's been pushed out of the way seems to be residing in my ribs and it hurtssss. Sitting is the absolute worst. Trying to make a goal to get up and do a lap around my office building every hour or so today since walking seems to help, but uggh. I can only imagine how this will be as baby girl gets bigger and joins the party that is my ribcage.
ginabini, with my last pregnancy I had an almost constant pain around my right ribcage, I remember it started pretty early on too. I had to sit in the most awkward position at my desk to relieve some of the pain.

Yessss! People come around to my cube and I'm like slouched to the left with my right arm resting on my head and I'm just like "don't mind me" lol.
Sounds like my pregnancy has been pretty similar to your first so far!
I just realized that this weekend we "spring forward". I am really not looking forward to losing a hour of sleep, but super excited about going to be earlier!

I had some weird rib cage pain last night but it went away. It was horrible so hopefully it doesn't come back.

katelou, what's the PT for? Is it related to you recent hospital stay?
Yes. The short version is that I was dx with hip bursitis (inflammation of the hip joint) and they think that inflammation so close to my uterus irritated it and caused the contractions. They have never seen this happen before (cause bursitis mostly happens in middle age and elderly people, not 32 y/os) but inflammation from kidney infections, UTIs, etc frequently causes the same reaction.
So the PT and ortho appointment are for my hip. I don't really know how it's supposed to help. I'd rather just douse the inflammation with steroids and not move for the next 20 weeks, but apparently they don't agree with me haha. I don't have any restrictions on what I can do but I'm really nervous about how to handle groceries, laundry, even getting my DD in the car and not re-injure it. We have street parking only so I have to stand on the curb and bend down and lean over to buckle her in. I have already asked my mom to take her for Saturday night and Sunday.
I just realized that this weekend we "spring forward". I am really not looking forward to losing a hour of sleep, but super excited about going to be earlier!
Oh, wow, I didn't realize this. I always get so confused by this. So when I set my alarm for 7AM it will feel like 6AM to me? That might work out well for me because I need DS to get up a little earlier then he has been.
I just bought my kid 4 sippy cups, some foam magnets and a bag for his bath toys. All for his Easter basket. Now I just need to get him some treats, I'm thinking lil' crunchies and yogurt melts, he's never had either.
Also, yesterday was the day from Hell. We had to go to a children's hospital 2 hours away to get allergy testing for DS. Then H wanted to look at a car 30 mins away from the hospital that took us 1.5 hours to get to b/c of stupid Philly traffic. Then is took us almost 4 hours to buy this freaking car. We went in knowing exactly which car we wanted and were prepared to pay cash for it and it still took forever. DS is probably miserable today because we didn't get home until after midnight, I'm almost glad I'm at work and he's home with H.

I am annoyed today. My daughter would not go to sleep last evening potentially because my husband was hammering away in the bathroom upstairs while i was trying to get her to lay down. But he was installing trim for the window that he has been working on for 6 months so i didn't tell him to stop. I eventually gave up getting my daughter to sleep until after he was done. Then i brought her back upstairs and she wants everything in her bed with her books a cup of water etc. So she gets upset about this when i tell her she has to put these things next to the bed. My husband hears the crying and comes up and after 15 minutes he has her sleeping. He then tells me he thinks i dont do the things she needs because i want him to do it. Yes dear i enjoy spending an hour of my evening failing at something all so you will have to help with our daughter?!?
Just venting. I hope she goes to bed easier tonight.
katelou I'm glad the contractions are staying away! That sounds super stressful though about everything else, I'm sorry to hear Hopefully the PT helps and the inflammation goes away fast!
jewelsofthenile sorry to hear about the bedtime difficulty. I swear my kids behave worse for me then DH. My DS whines almost every morning when I'm trying to get him ready for school but when DH gets him ready not a single peep. Ugh!
I'm cranky and tired today so not much fun going on here. I think I need some ice cream.
katelou so glad you haven't had any contractions recently! I hope your PT helps with the pain you're in.
We went shopping last night to return some girl outfits we had and bought so many adorable 6 month outfits. I'm just hoping this little man isn't as much of a peanut as he currently is (he was in the 50th percentile at our AS) so that the outfits fit in the winter and springtime haha

I told H and DS last night that they were both going to have to start pitching in more with the pet feeding and cleaning duties. H was not happy about helping DS with the rat care and cleaning of their cage but it's really pretty simple daily care. H already does the cat litter but that's basically it. I just know that as time goes on I will be needing more help around the house and with the cats and rats than I currently get. H and DS grumbled about it but we all agreed to get these pets and now it's time for all of us to care for them.
I have been so tired lately I barely want to eat dinner at night just so I can get to bed that much sooner!

glaze yes she gives me the hardest time with most things. Diaper changes with grandma result in a lot less running around naked. She lays nicely and has her diaper changed.
@katielou I'm glad your contractions have stopped hopefully not return until July.
jewelsofthenile my DD is definitely better for anyone who is not me. I've been told it's because I'm the person she feels most comfortable and safe with, so she let's me have it. I'd like someone else to be her "person." lol.
My dad has been gone for 18 years. I have actually had our oldest cat Pinky longer than I had my dad. I am pregnant with our rainbow baby and last baby who he will never get to meet.
But also today is the day we reveal the sex to DH's Parents, sister, and grandmother. They set the day up and well I didn't realize what day it was.
Took a nap and I sort of want another one already. Made some really awesome pulled pork.

From my experience with my DS, the anatomy scan means very little in terms of how big the baby will be at birth and then the first several months. DS was measuring a week ahead at the A/S, and the midwives said he would be probably around 7.5 lbs at birth but closer to 8-8.5 if he went past his due date. Well he was born at 41 weeks and weighed 6 lb 12 oz (was super long and super skinny so had he been normal length, he would have weighed even less). And also, just as an fyi, I found most baby clothing sizes are more along the line of expiration dates. Average sized babies can wear 6 month clothing until they are 6 months old - then they move to 9 month stuff. If you want to shop now, don't worry though. Regardless of the weather, babies will always wear onsies and footed pajamas. Just keep receipts in case you can still return!
Yep I'll agree with all of the comments above that my DS is the worst to me. He rarely hits my husband and never anyone else - he hits and kicks me on a daily basis. Lovely. And regarding bedtime, it was established when my son was only a few weeks old that H would do bedtime. I'd nurse, but then H was in charge, and that's still how it is today. I SAH while H works so it's extra bonding time, and I do nap time so when sleep became difficult, I thought it was only fair for us both to suffer once a day :-)

Good to know! My best friend's baby was in 3 month clothing until she hit 6 months but I've also heard of baby's growing out of them quicker so I guess you never know. The clothing we got was all long pants, long-sleeved onesies, and hoodies, so they'll work basically from October-May in the Pacific NW which gives baby plenty of time to wear them
We got an explorer, H had a 2 door wrangler which was a pain with only 1 car seat but would be impossible with 2. I love the explorer so now we just have to sell the jeep.
Baby clothing is so hard to predict, DS is in the 60th percentile for weight and 70th for height, he's 9.5 months and still firmly in 9 month clothing. The 9 month pj pants he has on right now are falling off him.
