I'm shocked by all this gas station food. Especially taco pizza (huh?) from a gas station. Maybe I'm picturing it all wrong because in my head it's a sketchy little shop attached to a small gas station. However, it might be more like Wawa (sweetpies) which is all over NJ and I also think in PA and VA. But, the only thing I'd eat from there is a sub or a breakfast sandwich.

No, it's totally your typical gas station/ convenience store. I don't get it either. This is nicer than the one in the town where I grew up.

Obviously; sheetz wawa and rutters were never entered in to this equation.

I have never heard of Sheetz or Rutters...maybe I'm missing out?
Love my free family childcare. It let me go back to work just part time. And they offered before I was even pregnant and absolutely refuse to take money. It's 1 day at each grandparents house and the 3rd day alternates between them and my sister. And they do listen to our rules/schedule etc. and we have great relationships with all of them so maybe that makes a difference? We do bigger gifts for Christmas etc. and do occasionally bring over gift cards or flowers to "make up" for them not taking our money. IDK, it works for us but I know it wouldn't for everyone!
I have a great relationship with my parents and I am much happier paying for child care. My child has no semblance of a routine with my mom. She is constantly on the road with because she has custody of my nephew who has Down syndrome and he has tons of appointments. She feeds her junk every day and often tells me she can't keep her last minute so I have to take off work way more than I like. I can't complain, because she keeps her for free and won't take any money. I just can't stand when someone looks at me and says "oh, you've got it so great with your mom watching her everyday"...

Agreed. Part of the reason I SAH is because daycare would take my entire check practically. MIL offered to watch DS when I got pregnant, but DH wanted none of that. Free doesn't always mean it's easy or worth it!

Long Island sucks in so many ways. Pizza is not one of them. Sorry/ not sorry, pizza outside of the metro NYC area blows. Chicago makes an okay pizza. Fact. Lol.

I feel bad for people that are obsessed with losing their baby weight immediately after getting home from the hospital. Give your body a break; it just did something amazing. I didn't step on a single scale until my 6 week check.

I didn't care at all with Henry. This time, I'm ready to lose it and get fit immediately. It's been 2.5 years of not having the body I want and not having the energy that comes with being healthy. I am just ready to have my body back already.

I honestly wish I would have been more motivated to get the weight off immediately. My OB warned me that the longer it stayed on the harder it would be to come off. Now here I am 20 months later and still 30 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight. I wish I had gotten it over with then. But I understand completely what you're saying.

skylark002 and afmama22 I am talking more about people on my FB newsfeed posting how much weight they lost a week after they gave birth. I am surprised they can jump into it that fast. I was barely surviving. I get the feeling of wanting your body back though and I am going to try harder this time. Even though I got to prepregnancy weight, I still could stand to be about 30 lbs lighter than that.

I would like to +1 this for bagels. NYC metro area bagels are delicious. Bagels anywhere else are just bready, doughy things. I'll eat them (and even enjoy them), but I wouldn't call them a bagel!

This makes me laugh so much. I'll have to admit, Casey's is a pretty decent/trustworthy gas station. Some look sketchy, but the new ones are pretty nice.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. There's people like me who lost all of the weight in a month and 9 months postpartum gained 15 back and can't get it off:/ I swear the more I work out the more I gain. Want to cry.
Chicago and NY both have amazing pizza! The west coast, however, is a pizza desert.
Lies! I have eaten much delicious pizza in CA and never had anything as good when we lived on the east coast (VA).
That cause it was Virginia. The mineral content in the water in the metro NYC area is different and makes for a pretty unique pizza crust. It really spoils you for pizza anywhere else.

Yeah, VA pizza and bagels stink. When I lived in DC, I kept trying different places thinking "Surely pizza 4 hours from 'home' can't all be that bad....it was." My brother lives in NOVA and the amount of pizza he eats when he drives up is comical. He gets his fill for 6 mo or so!
I've never had genuine Chicago style (only Pizzeria Uno), but I want to try it. It looks so good!

So that explains why my weird aunt practically lives at one of the pizza places in our hometown when she visits from California. I think she even somehow had one of their pizzas shipped to her once.
I was once on a plane from NYC to SF and this guy's carry on was a cooler full of pizza...and a cheese steak. I guess he took his food seriously.
