Happy St. Patty's Day ladies! What does everyone have going on today? May the luck of the Irish be with you!
I'm dropping of DS at the sitters house and then driving up to meet some friends to go to a SPD parade. DH goes every year with his buddies and the last 3 years I've been stuck in a training at work. This year I finally don't have a training, so I took off work planning to have some fun and drink a little. DH tells me Wednesday that he has a conference to go to today and well obviously the drinking part isn't in the cards for me today. Not how I envisioned this day, but at least I'm not at work and there will be yummy food!
Not much here today just laundry. Hopefully I will get to the park with DD and get a nap in. It's basically me and DD all day H will be home briefly to eat dinner then off again. Yay for solo bath and bedtime $sarcasm$. H and I haven't had an evening home together in almost 2 weeks tonight is the last night of obligations and then it's a 3 day weekend yay.
My teeth are throbbing though. This is seriously ridiculous. If I had not just had a dental check up with xrays I think I would be seriously concerned something was wrong. I went and bought some oragel this morning to put in the few places where the pain is really bad and that has helped tremendously. Also got my hands on some Tylenol so going to try to keep that on board.
I was in so much pain last night that it was actually making me nauseated. Such a terrible feeling. And I couldn't eat at all.
I feel like such a big baby but this hurts!! And this is coming from the girl who let her dentist drill a hole in a tooth that was going to get a root canal to drain the infection UNMEDICATED!! Not numbed at all when she drilled into my tooth and poked the little wires into it to clean it out. I have a very high threshold for pain and this just suuuucks
I'm working from home today so that means I'll be watching TV with my doggy and checking emails. Hopefully it's a quiet day. My boss called me last night at 7 and left a message to call back and that he has good news. I was like WTF dude, boundaries. If it's not earth shattering, call me during normal business hours. He drives me crazy sometimes. We were at my parents for dinner and it was after 9 before I even saw my phone so I didn't call him back until this morning. He didn't answer...

That was nice of him to at least say it was good news. If that hadn't been said I would probably be sitting around worried about what I had done wrong.

Yea at least I knew it wasn't urgent. But at my job, you usually don't get a call from your manager at 7pm unless there's some major issue going on. It was just weird. I finally talked to him and it was about our bonuses (which I figured). Definitely awesome news but didn't warrant a 7pm phone call.
aggiebug I'm sorry you're on your own right now and haven't had a night with YH nuggetrn Ughhh that sucks! I am a big baby when it comes to teeth pain. danib I hope physio goes well today!!
We're at work today, they do a parade right outside me/MH office so we'll meet up at lunch to go watch that. I considered cooking up corned beef and cabbage because it's my favorite meal ever, but we are living with ILs right now (during renos) and they absolutely will not eat a bite. Then I'd have to fight for refrigerator space for the next couple days while me and MH slowly eat it all. I WILL have my meal today though come hell or high water.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm going over to my parents for dinner tonight: Corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes. I'm obviously not drinking so I have to come up with an excuse for that... I'm becoming a professional fake drinker these days. Tomorrow I am going to a painting and drinking class. I filled mini wine bottles w white grape juice and a splash of water to lighten the color. Literally looks identical to Chardonnay!
Actually of very direct Irish decent - my Dad was born in Dublin, and my Mom's Dad is from Cork and most of his family still live there. We don't really celebrate St Patrick's Day at all. It was never a big deal in Ireland until drunken American tourists made it profitable. My Dad's Mom loves it though for some reason. I may make an Irish soda bread from the family recipe sometime this week.
I got my second beta drawn yesterday! For you non-infertility or -loss folks, that's the blood draw to see how the pregnancy is developing. My level yesterday was 274 at 15 dpo, up from 102 at 13 dpo, which is a 32 hour doubling time! Which is GREAT! Super excited about that! They did make me wait 90 minutes just to get my blood drawn though.

Mmm I can't wait for corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight! I'm not Irish at all but H is mostly Irish and has a very Irish last name. Plus it's my birthday so I enjoy St. Patrick's Day!
calindi awesome doubling time!! Also my maternal grandmother is from Dublin as well. My mom has always been super into St. Patrick's Day and would dye all out food green to celebrate. It was incredibly disgusting.
nuggetrn I'm so sorry you're dealing with that, totally sucks! I hope it goes away soon but at least in the meantime sounds like you've cone up with a good plan to manage it. tjanca22, omg what a cutie!! Remind me how old he is? goldenlove3 happy birthday!!!!!
I'm glad we're doing randoms on this board. This new bean is all I can think about the past few days and it's nice to have you ladies to chat with!
I'm really proud of how well I've been eating. Part of it is out of guilt because I was so, so healthy when I got pregnant with DS and sort of let it go while pregnant, and never really got back to the previous level. So I feel like I owe it to this one to have better self-control over the next 8 months since it's like s/he is starting out at a slight disadvantage.

Haha. My dad's family is from Ireland as well. My mom dyed our food green for St. Patrick's too. I don't ever remember thinking it was disgusting though.

Yay for being healthy!!
I need to get on that bandwagon but I am having a rough time not having control over the kitchen and grocery shopping and all of that. I really thought I would be in a much better place weight/health wise and now I am pregnant and I am just not there. I am really hoping that once we get into the house I'll get better.
Just heard from my OB. Betas yesterday were 195 (good) and progesterone 12.1 (fine but not awesome). They're going to put me back on suppositories. I'm glad I checked! I'll have another draw tomorrow to confirm betas are rising appropriately. T&P's please!
dashook - FX for nice betas tomorrow, and welcome to the suppository club! The first batch they gave me were the red capsule generics, and it always leaked red so I couldn't tell if it was food coloring or blood. I made them switch it to the pale yellow generics. What idiot ever thought that was a good idea???

9.5 months!
@goldenlove happy birthday!! Eat lots of cake and have some fun today!

Is anyone else not having many symptoms? My boobs are sore, I get an occasional cramping and that pretty much it. I'm going to bed at my normal time but with the time change I guess that's an hour earlier... I just want some reassurance that everything is going ok in there!

OMG, I know!! I took them the first 12 weeks with DS too and they were pinkish, which freaked me out constantly.

Remind me, how many weeks are you again?
For a lot of women, the real symptoms don't kick in until 6 weeks. I had hardly any noticeable symptoms with DS aside from what you described until 6-7 weeks. And even then, they were moderate (nausea that sometimes was awful but never led to vomiting, sore boobs throughout, sometimes dizziness, and exhaustion). Some days I felt totally normal and that would freak me out so I'd start pushing on my boobs trying to see if they were still sore.
Don't forget that every woman is different, and every pregnancy too (even in the same woman)! For example, I'm only 4 weeks today but I've been having lots of nausea since Monday and the exhaustion is real. My boobs aren't really sore at all (although I'm also still breastfeeding so that isn't really a reliable one for me).
