badw0lf I'm debating having samoas as a second breakfast.
The Easter bunny was a hit this morning and DD1 had a blast finding the eggs. DD2 just found one and then was so amused by it that she didn't look for anymore lol. We are making a peekaboo cake today for easter meal tomorrow. It's my first attempt at this so wish me luck. I hope it turns out right.
Here's what it's supposed to turn out like. But I'm going to make it easter colors with some food dye. I'm adding green icing with easter themed sprinkles too!
Going along with kartish post yesterday about grandparents taking over Easter-
My sister got her, myself and my other sister tickets to Garth Brooks next Saturday. DH is going to be working until 9 or so, and I asked my mom to babysit and put B to bed. She will only do it at her house and is refusing to put her to bed at my house (we live 5 min from each other), even though she's done it before. I am NOT having my daughter wake up at their house Easter morning. I will light my ticket on fire before that happens.
ETA: She also told me she has eggs to hide, and a basket for her in the morning. Uh no.

dreemkin let us know how the cake turns out! Sounds super cute! taberbtb yay for Garth Brooks but wtf to your mom. Talk about taking advantage of the situation! Hope you find alternative childcare. Or your H can scoop up your sleeping child after work and tuck her back in at home.

Going to Ikea Saturday. Sounds like a terrible idea, but DS can pull all the stuffed animals out of the display boxes under H's supervision while I track down the couple things we need. Win for everyone.
Going mainly for the cheap fabric storage cubed to put under the desk in our living room to store toys and block one of the access routes to the blinds. Nothing would thrill my child more than full access to the blinds.

Chandler: Yeah, and I get my ya-ya's from Ikea. You have to put them together yourself, but they cost a little less.
Just watched this Friends episode from season 1. I didn't realize Ikea was that old...
Lamb cake making went well but it will be decorated tomorrow. Then I'll share a pic. My bunny peekaboo cake might be another story. Not sure it's gonna turn out. Will post a pic of that too. Egg dying was fun!
It's day 1 of the morning wean. I didn't hear any screaming or crying so that's good. DH just responded to my text to say that she did really well! Yay!
Dd1 is off to grandmas this weekend so we will be able to get a few things done around the house. It was super cute when I asked her if she wanted to go she said she wanted LO to come too. Hopefully next time if the weaning goes well!
Also DH got a tomahawk steak for dinner! Soooo good. Google it if you've never seen it.
I think my bracket is already busted. Wtf Michigan State.
You and 98% of the brackets. Apparently 22% of the espn brackets had them winning the title. Ha!
That game was ridiculous, I was rooting for msu but they looked awful. I am excited UT lost although playing uni in the 2nd round is not going to be a walk in the park either.
DS took more steps last night, this time on purpose! Maybe he was too excited about it, cause he stayed up to party 2.5h after bedtime. He wasn't angry unless he was in his crib. So weird.
I'm done with Easter. DH just told me he took a Sunday shift from a coworker that he thought was tomorrow, but no, it's Easter Sunday. So no egg hunt on Easter actually for V. And DH will miss Easter service.
His mom got all defensive when he told her about the egg hunt and how V wouldn't be participating Saturday, so I've got her mad at me now. We can't do a egg hunt Easter afternoon because we'll be going to my mom's. I know he won't remember it and may not even want to find eggs, but it's still something I wanted to do with him this year. So I think we'll do Easter this Sunday instead? I'll have to go pick some things up on my way home from work, but I think it's a good plan. Then that way he can participate Saturday with MIL too.

My family is always about celebrating holidays whenever it works. We've celebrated Christmas 3 weeks late before. Do it whenever it works!

Sorry that things didn't go as planned! It sounds like something I would accidentally do
Russian Easter isn't until May 1 this year, which half my family celebrates. It is nice to break it up a little. I think we might make the trip to my grandparents this year. We haven't visited since A was 4 months old (they have traveled here to see her).
Here's the bunny peekaboo cake. Didn't turn out well. The ears got lost along the way somehow. I'll try it again for a different occasion though because I think I know what I did wrong. Also I think it's better to use a darker color on the shape inside. DD1 loves yellow though and picked it for the bunny.

kartish sorry YH will miss Easter service, since you can't really hold that at an alternate time. But the egg hunt & basket & such can definitely be done at a more convenient time!
