I am having my mom call my cable company to get my bill lowered for me. If I called, I would probably be talked into adding a newer, more expensive package.

This is the reason MH talks to the mechanic. I agree to everything.

OMG, I've had my mom do this a few times. She's so good at it. One time she called me back and was like "Well, I got you bill lowered to its original amount and I got you 12 mo of DVR for free."

Moms are the best! When I was younger I would be like "man I can't wait until I am an adult/mom and can do that stuff on my own"
yeah... that's never gonna happen lol.
puffandstuff - I am not allowed to do an oil change by myself because I would come back with a brand new car or something lol

So true! I used to say, "I can't wait to grow up and have mom hands." It seemed like my mom could always grab a hot plate, kill a giant bug, etc. and not even flinch. Nope....I still have wuss hands.

I feel the same way about mom arms!!! all moms I know have super strong, toned arms. I never got those!
Fffc: Up until 3 years ago - like 3 days before my wedding - my mom made all my appointments for me.
But after I got married I got my own doctors here and had to make appointments myself. DNW to travel to my hometown 3 hours away for a 10 minute appointment.
FFFC2: I still haven't called around to get a dentist though. So it's been almost 3 years since I've been to the dentist.

Do you have dental insurance? If so, get your butt to the dentist. Honestly though, dental check ups are so important. Want me to call for you?
My doula would take home the placenta and make it into pills as part of her services. I have a jar labelled Placenta Pills in my fridge. And I even took some of them following A's birth.

Lol. I hate calling people but I guess I have to suck it up. I just got benefits, including dental, through my work when I went back in July. So really I have no excuse anymore.

Think of it this way, you're setting a good example for DD and DS! Most of us hate the dentist, but now they at least won't be able to say "But you never go mom."

Do you think it helped in anyway?
it's hard to say if it really did help, or was just all in my head. But I did feel really good in the weeks following birth.

GO! Your physical health can be tied to your dental health. It's really important to have regular cleanings. And what weeklyplanner said about it being a good model for your children.
I have nail polish on my toes since probably Oct. But I haven't gone barefoot since then and probably won't for another month.
Second confession: DS threw up at 11:30 pm last Thurs. My sister and family still came Fri and we still had DS's party on Sat. DS seemed his normal self on Fri. My sister knew as I called her in a panic after he threw up.
Third confession: I call my sister with medical concerns about my kids before their doctors. My sister was a peds nurse before they moved to where they are now. Plus, she has four kids of her own and her husband is a pharmacist. A lot of the time, she talks me off the ledge as I tend to freak out about everything.
