I don't want to work. I just want to shop for my kids' Easter basket stuff today. Not sure when I'm going to sneak out to shop as every minute this week is booked and I don't feel like Amazon-ing everything this time... #fwp
Work is slow. Again. And I got called out for being on my iPad too much, so there goes that option. I could be doing so much stuff at home right now. I'm taking a personal day next week to scrapbook with my mom and it can't come soon enough.
Tomorrow is Ns first swim lesson...mommy and me. I'm the fattest I've ever been and I'm really dreading being in the water in front of others. I thought I'd drop weight being off work and it's not happening at all.
My older daughter left a necklace in my car and in moving it I dropped it in between the seat and console and it got stuck and then my car seat wouldn't move because of it. I gave DS pirates booty popcorn as a snack while I was nursing DD and he wiped his greasy little hands all over the couch. My fault. Also if my dogs don't STFU and keep barking when they are outside I may kill them.
I'm adding another one: toddler meltdowns. Pretty much any time we have to say no or stop DS from doing something he turns into a floppy noodle and collapses to the ground crying. So. Much. Fun.

The worst! DD will cry just because we said no. I try to redirect, and use positive words instead of just saying no all the time. (like at the playground, we talk about what is an up (ladder/stairs) and what is a down (slide). If she tries to go up the slide I tell her that is a down, and go find an up, etc.)

This happens at our house too. Now I just let him go and give him zero attention when he does it. He starts trying to peek to see if im looking, and when he realizes im not, he gets up and goes back to playing nicely.

Can I quit my job? I'm now getting a "written warning" because I have too much free time and am not doing enough to try and fill it. WTF?!? I complete everything within my job description efficiently (apparently too efficiently) and do my job well to the point that every project manager I work with basically sings my praises, but because I find myself with way too much idle time and I'm not being "proactive" to fill it, I get in trouble. Fuck this. I got screwed when I came back from maternity leave and getting sent to this position.
Pretty sure from here on out, every time I finish my work I'm going to go to my boss and ask her what exactly she wants me to be doing next.

Is the boss you're going to ask what to do next the one who wrote you up? If so that shit is going to backfire on her hahaha.
Yep. Her write up included things for me to "focus" on when I find myself with down time. One of these things is basically a part of someone else's job but only done once a year. Since that person is always swamped, I get to "help" with it. And "help" that person work on some of their other billing that they're always behind on.
One of her "suggestions" was to see if there is more I can do to assist my PMs. I'm going to see if one will let me work at the job site occasionally just to get her off my back (and me out of the office).
jnnfrrose6, that's so obnoxious. I have been in that position a few times - bored out of my mind, but my superior was so busy that I felt bad asking them to create work for me to do. Hopefully you can find someone that you can actually help out!

What the heck? So did your supervisor know you had free time and not give you things to do? Or how did they know you had idle time? This seems so stupid to me, and I don't get how they can say you did something wrong.

It's a novel. Sorry! TL/DR version is I'm getting closer and closer to it not being worth it for me to work.
She knew I had idle time because she's seen me on my iPad or online at my desk. We're in cubicles with our backs to the opening so anyone walking past you can see in at what you're doing without you knowing. We've talked about it a couple of times and she's basically said she wants me to find more things to do on my own. It's mostly frustrating because it really boils down to the fact that either others are overburdened with their work load and it's not dispersed amongst us well OR others just suck at the job and don't do it as well as I do and therefore are always busy. I have to assume it's not actually the latter because the work isn't that difficult.
When I came back from leave, they told me they wanted me to go back to accounting because one of the girls had a really heavy workload and they needed another body back there to help spread the workload. I went because my alternative was not working and a few months later the person they told me I was going to be helping lighten her workload got promoted into the manager position of the department and I got her entire workload. That they originally told me they needed me back there for to help. It's partially gotten lighter because 2 of the biggest projects I was doing the accounting on have finished, but also because I've found more efficient ways to do the job. It just sucks all around.
Supposedly there's potential for me to get out from there when our executive assistant retires (hopefully this year), but there was also the not so subtle threat in today's email/warning that she wouldn't be able to give me a positive recommendation if a "new position opened up" if I didn't show more effort and self motivation. Screw you lady. My boss before maternity leave still loves me and would take me back in a second if he could get rid of the chick they left in from my leave (brought in by the president, my old boss really doesn't like her).
I'm sorry for the novel ladies. Today just sucked at work. DH was supposed to get in touch with the guy for the local job and by the end of the day I was just hoping he had and there was an offer big enough that I could just quit. Or that he hadn't and the SC job was going to be the front runner and I'd have an end point because of that. Unfortunately he wasn't able to catch up with the guy today. Hopefully tomorrow.

I work from home Monday's so as soon as he zonks out for the nap I go crazy to get my hours in. I have so many deadlines coming up I can't decide what to prioritize but today instead of working on any legit work I spent 98% of my time dealing w employees mad at each other bc one sent another a 15 paragraph condescending and obnoxious email-15 paragraphs!!! The big boss calls me and says can you please deal w it bc I can't and in fact I'm in my car 200 yds from the office but going to drive somewhere else so I don't have to deal with it....faaaantastic
Oh and the dog ran off and came back stinky with a giant bone that I think is a deer bone but good lord dog can you please try to be the lapdog you're supposed to be and not drag animal carcasses to the doorstep?!
