We are also in house project hell. We got ds' room painted, but we are having s difficult time with the carpet company . Ug. We did pick paint for the baby's room. Regardless of the carpet situation, I am making dh paint next weekend!
I hate how one friend keeps trying to make BCF out like it is such an easy thing to do/deal with. I want to throat punch her.
ooo I hate people like that! Obviously it goes without saying that it could be much worse and you're glad your son doesn't have a life-threatening birth defect, but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to be upset about dealing with BCF. I'm sure it's scary, painful, uncomfortable, expensive, and a lot of work to deal with all the casting, specialists, x Rays, and everything that goes with it. You are allowed to complain all you want!
Team you all the way! Some people don't realize they aren't helping you by diminishing your feelings about BIG DEAL things.
Add me to the freaking out about home stuff club. I've been feeling so stressed about moving stuff around to prepare for baby, even though we are on track. I want to have everything at home done by June 1st so then I can focus on packing up and moving out of my classroom.

Just got home from an Easter party/egg hunt with 40 toddlers. It was so cute, and DS had a ton of fun. I'm excited for a couple more Easter hunts this weekend.
Random: an acquaintance of mine was expecting a baby girl in April. Her baby came a few weeks early, and that baby ended up being a boy. Although he was early, he seems to be doing well which is the most important thing, but what a surprise! A lot of last minute changes had to be made!

I have a fear of this! My stupid evidence is that my sister who is awesome at guessing the sex thought girl. So the ultrasound shot of a very clear penis exists but I'm all, "but Amanda really thought..."
Did they just do an ultrasound to determine the sex?
I think the videos people do showing reactions to family members when they find out stuff like that is hilarious! There was one where the couple kept it a secret that they were having twins and people were hilarious!

cabbagecabbage, melody330, Yeah definitely crazy. I wonder how often it happens. One benefit of being team green! I guess ultrasounds are never 100% accurate - I'm assuming she just found out at the A/S based on when she announced she was having a girl. And yeah, those videos are hilarious. I don't know how the mom kept that lie up for so long in the video you posted!
rungirlrun I can't imagine planning for one gender and the baby coming out the opposite! I think I would have a panic attack, just because I'm such a type A planner. I feel pretty safe that ours is a boy, it was VERY obvious before she even got to that part of the A/S, little guy wanted to show off haha

mcktymck, I know - I can't imagine that shock! I know there are many worse things that can happen, but I would definitely be having some negative feelings initially if that happened to me. I'm team green, but my H is convinced this baby is a girl - so much that he talks about our daughter. It annoys me because there is a 50% chance this baby will have a penis so I don't want to get too invested in our "daughter." I'd rather just think of him/her as simply a baby.
Glad your son wasn't too shy and showed you his goods!

I have an irrational fear of this. With ds, it was so obvious. Granted this baby girl looked different, but if I have to have another u/s, I will ask! Haha

With DD her father told me "I'm glad we are having a girl because I don't really like our boy name anymore." Cue me being irrationally afraid for the next 4 months that she would come out a nameless boy.
I keep having dreams that these girls come out as obviously not my biological children, that the IVF clinic mixed up the embryos. And then people commenting on any and all pics of them that I obviously am some harlot and H should leave me for cheating on him. So that's fun.
