@frecklesandbrains we have a strict policy against looking up our own information on the medical record. Glad everyone is passing the test today. I still have two weeks till I am tortured!
microworm at target this week they have a spend $150 in the baby section get a $25 gift card as well as a buy 2 boxes of diapers get a $10 gift card (I got pampers bc that's what I like best). So if you buy 6 boxes of pampers at $24.99 each (plus something small like wipes to push you over the $150) you get $55 in gift cards back. Plus I had coupons for $3 off each for four boxes of pampers swaddles and $2 off each for 2 boxes of pampers baby dry. Plus I had $.25 off the single pack of wipes. So basically the total before coupons is $150 minus $16.25 (coupons)so you pay around $134 and then get $55 on gift cards. You also can get an extra 5% off with gift cards.
So it's a pretty good deal if you shop at target and don't mind gift cards. I believe pampers, lives and huggies will all trigger the $10 gift cards.
I love the target brand diapers, but not until size 3. They are a bit bulky before then. My girls both had bad reactions to anything Huggies, Costco brand and other cheap store brands but always did great in Up & Up and Luvs and pampers. Sorry that was long.
woodengirl07 from my experience you won't need many newborns and size 1's. Babies grow so quickly out of those sizes. My girls spent a few months in 2's and then probably a year in 3's. (My girls have been average sized at birth, but then remain pretty small). I think I bought (1) newborn (1) size 1 (2) size 2 and (2) size 3. I'm sure there will be spans that I still have to fill in with more of each size, but I didn't want to over buy a size.

Thanks, that's sorta what I was thinking, probably not needing so many of the itty bitty ones.
woodengirl07 every baby is different, so it's kind of hard to say. If you see a good sale, definitely stock up on size 2 and 3 because you know they'll eventually be in those for a while. Some babies are never in NB diapers. However, DS was is newborn diapers until he was 3 months old. I was not prepared for that because everyone said that they aren't in those for long. Even having that experience, I'm still not buying more than 1 box of NB diapers ahead of time. You can always get more if you need them.
Passed the glucose test! Yay. I do have to add prescription iron to my pills though. I hope there aren't any side effects.
Start taking stool softeners with the iron if you aren't already! Iron can make you pretty constipated.
Thank you! The rx says that it has a stool softener combined with it. I wonder if that'll be enough. Time will tell--I definitely don't need more constipation in my life.
I went to visit my friend who has six month old twins. She unloaded a bunch of baby stuff on me- swing, exersaucer, two bouncy seats, playmat, bathtub, rock n play, and a bunch of clothes. It was like Christmas morning!
My dad arrived this morning now the whole family is here. Congrats on all the great glucose results. I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi this afternoon. It was a great decision and I'm getting a chair massage while I wait for my nails to dry. I secretly thought my mom and sister were going to throw me a surprise shower while they were here. I'm pretty certain it's not happening and I'm deep down kind of bummed. They are spoiling ds while they are here which is more important and appreciated (Friday confessional, sorry).
This has been a busy morning preparing for my DS' huge birthday party tomorrow morning! Shopping, cleaning, cooking, picking things up. I'm taking a short break to look at TCS but am about to be back at it. Now to go pick up the dog poop in the backyard since we're having an Easter egg hunt out there. Thankfully my Mom is making breakfast casseroles for the party right now! We are giving DS his big present today (train table) and I am SO EXCITED to see his reaction. Maybe he won't react at all, but I know he will love it over the years!
Dd1 (3) just walked into the baby's nursery and "momma, it's so beautiful!" Then she opened up one of the dresser drawers and said, in the sweetest little voice, "look at all these sweet clothes for my baaaaaby!"
Sometimes I think she's more excited than I am. Ha.
This just made my day. Oh my goodness! She melted my heart.
3 hr test wasn't fun... But it wasn't a nightmare either. They had a bed in the back for me even though I was feeling alright. It was nice just to be able to lie down while I read my book. The parts I was really worried about, light-headedness and hunger, didn't end up being much of a problem. Question... Why can't they just use the little blood sugar monitors that can read your sugar from a drop of blood? Why four entire vials? I understood with the 1 hr because they were testing my thyroid, iron, etc at the same time. My inner arms look terrible.
I'm seriously sore from all the prep and running around today! I told my DH we were going to do a simple party for DS and this has turned into quite the ordeal. Also, the party is pajamas and breakfast, so it starts at 9:30. I'm kind of glad that we will get it over with even though it means we had to get our whole house and all the food prepped and everything ready today. We're having a donut tower, donut skewers, fruit, yogurt parfait bar, mini pancake stacks, sausage casserole, bacon casserole, Starbucks coffee, chocolate milk, OJ, etc. We're also having an easter egg hunt in our backyard (with a sticker station for kids to decorate their easter buckets-Target dollar spot for the win!) Sometimes I act stressed by stuff like this, but in all honesty, I love it and it's fun for me! I love hosting, party prep, etc. Had to apologize to my DH for the money spent, especially since we're doing a family birthday dinner or Monday, but oh well. It'll be worth it!

GOmamab15, Super easy-I'm basically going to stack a bunch of sprinkle donuts in the morning, put some car candles and a "2" candle on top, and call it a cake! Granted, my Mom is also making him a construction scene cake for our family dinner on Monday, but I'm more excited about the tower o' donuts.
