I have orientation with our new midwives office tonight. I'm so nervous about it! I feel like I'm so far along to be changing doctors but I really don't have a choice with our move. It doesn't help that I was up all night very uncomfortable with what felt like contrax and then they were coming every 3 min. I think it was anxiety because I eventually fell asleep. This baby is sitting so low it's killing me! I wanted to get up and stand on my head to move it up a bit lol. My midwife gave me a script for a support belt...anyone have one? Wondering if it's really gonna help?!
I am so cranky today. I'm still sick and feel like I'm getting worse. My throat hurts so badly when I cough and so does my chest. I wanted to give it a few days before I call the doctor because my DD is sick too and it seemed like just a cold virus from her. I feel like I can't call the doctor for me until I call for her but at the same time she doesn't seem as bad. She has a mucusy cough but it doesn't really appear to be hurting her. We do have a well visit on Friday and that would mark a week of her being sick so I guess that timing works out. Her doctor is so hands off I hate to go in until it's been at least a week because they always just say wait it out (after checking the obvious ear infection).
On the bright side, I did stop and get a fruit smoothie made with juice (no milk products) and it's helping my throat. It feels so much better to swallow something ice cold.
broadwaymama, I hope your appt goes well! nymama917, so sorry about you being sick! A smoothie sounds delicious and I might just have to make one later too....
My foot is killing me from my fall a week ago. I'm hoping it starts to get better because I hate taking Tylonel so much and not being able to walk much. I slept with a sneaker on last night for the support because it was hurting so badly, ha!
Today is our first "normal" day where my family is all gone and we're just back to our regular routine. We have a sonogram tomorrow and are going to bring DS for the first time!
nymama917 call your doc for you, you're pregnant! Don't feel mom guilt! Or do & do it for the baby! I coughed twice yesterday when water went down wrong and it hurt so bad, I can't imagine what having an actual cough would be like! I hope both of you feel better very soon!

nymama917, if you're daughter isn't in pain or complaining, you're fine in waiting. My pediatrician always said coughs are the WORST on day 4, and if it's not getting better by day 5 or 6, then you need to look at getting a Rx. Also, FWIW, my DD always turns into a snotty mess during allergy season, so maybe it's just that? But totally call for yourself!!! You don't want this to settle into your lungs and turn into an infection!
AFM, I'm so mad at myself. DH and I booked a little get away to take DD to Philadelphia for a couple days. Aquarium, Please Touch Museum... her last hurrah as an only child. BUT, i screwed up my work schedule and we need to push it back a week. Not a big deal, but I feel like an ass for making DH run around to change reservations.
I got 3-4 hours of sleep & woke up with asthma. I hate that I'm so resentful of DH getting all the sleep. But screw him & his snoring. He doesn't even work today!
Sorry you're so sick nymama917 . Don't feel guilty for calling the doc! You have to do what you have to do to get to feeling better.
I have a growth scan today. I'm excited to see the babies again and see how much they've grown. Plus I get to leave work 1.5 hours early...nice!
They've been moving around like crazy and stretching me in all sorts of odd ways. DH refers to it as "X-Files shit" going on in there. He cracks me up!
nymama917 sounds like you have what I had. I allowed myself to be miserable for too long then eventually needed antibiotics anyway. Call your doc and get yourself better. Not fair to be pregnant, sick and have to take care of a toddler. It took 3 full days of antibiotics for me to start feeling better but I feel like a million bucks now. Hope you get better soon.
pbandj714 happy scan day! Enjoy seeing your little babes. txmommy14 sorry your foot hurts. Sounds like you need a break after all the family was there.
My family left yesterday. I cried because I realized I wouldn't see them till after baby is born. I hate that they live far away and that ds only sees them a handful of times a year. He just adores my parents and my sister and he keeps asking why they had to go home I'm officially feeling better and I feel like a new woman. My house is clean, I'm being productive with work and I can be a good mama again. Ds' best bud at school potty trained over spring break and now ds is all about the toilet. I guess it's our turn! Happy hump day!
Thanks everyone for the reassurance! I called a doctor that I had a well visit with this past summer and they were booked until tomorrow afternoon. I went on Zoc Doc and got myself an apt. this afternoon. I was so skeptical of Zoc, but last pregnancy my OB told me to use it for something so I figured if a doctor was recommending it then it was okay. It's really really convenient. Anyway, I'm sure they are going to say I'm fine but I sound terrible and at least I'll have peace of mind. And DD will be seeing the doctor anyway first thing Friday so I guess I don't feel too bad

I'm at a dress rehearsal for one of my high school shows, and one of the girls just got all upset because she couldn't find her spanx, and she "needs" them. So sad...I didn't even know what spanx/shape wear was in high school or even really college! And she DOESNT need anything!!!
Woot! I just scored the TwinGo carrier on lightening deals from Amazon and saved $43! I had been bummed that it wasn't completion-discount eligible, but now I saved 20%, so ha!
My coworker just said I'm so big it looks like the baby's going to come out right now, then had the audacity to ask if I wanted to go to lunch with her. No, it's taking all my will power to not throw my chair at you I'm not going to make small talk over lunch!!!!! Some people.
GOmamab15, Your coworker's comment was rude. Who would want to go to lunch after that?
broadwaymama, I have a support belt that I wore 8 hours a day for 3 weeks straight and it helped a lot. I haven't needed it much in the last week.
Flair Underwood, I hope you guys have fun in Philly (even though you have to push it back a tad). I can't wait to do those fun things with this LO. I actually work next door to the Aquarium, hence my waterfront profile pic.
Flair Underwood, that sounds like such a fun idea having a trip with DD before she becomes a big sister!!
GOmamab15, so sorry!! Sometimes I feel resentful about how easily and well DH sleeps, too.
mladerri, I usually cry when my family leaves too, I hate that they live so far!! Yesterday when we dropped my Mom and sister off at the airport, we got home and DS said, "Nana went to Target!" I guess that's where people go when they leave, haha!!
pbandj714, Just looked up that carrier, looks amazing! Can you use it during the first few months or do you have to wait until they get a little older?

bgkc4, I guess at 2 yeas old,, he has caught on that I love to go to Target. Oh well, there could be worse things he is telling people I love. It's true, we usually do go to Target when we go to the store, or a Target box arrives on our doorstep, ha!!!!

I won't be able to tandem carry until they have full head/neck control, but we should be able to each front-carry one with a rolled up towel under them when they're tiny, just like any other SSC. I'm excited!
bighair12 wow! You def deserve it! Ds and I were sick for a combined 3+ weeks so I haven't been exercising at all. I think we're heading to the gym today for the first time in a month. Maybe I'll celebrate with ice cream haha
DD is 3.5 years old and has never attempted to climb out of her crib. I'm starting to feel like we need to pull the plug and at least take the front rail off. We already bought a second crib, so there isn't a rush - but I'm terrified to make the transition in the midst of a newborn haze.
We decided we are going to go for it on Friday. I'm scared, but at least we have 9-10 weeks to get her accustomed to the freedom before dd2 comes.
Doc checked for strep and it was negative. Lungs sounded clear (he listened for a while) so no pneumonia/bronchitis. Those were his big concerns that he would want to immediately treat. He said that he thinks it's just a virus and being pregnant he'd want me to be sick for longer before he considered an antibiotic which makes sense. So wait and see it is. He said to really take it easy and rest since I can't take anything else. If it's not getting better over the weekend then I need to go back and see him because at that point he would consider an antibiotic. I'm happy with the diagnosis. I feel good the pain in my chest isn't anything major and he said it was a good call for me to go in because I sound terrible. At least I can relax a little bit and hopefully that helps me feel better
shan - toddler bed transition wasn't so bad for us. Hoping the same for you. We needed to move DD out because we didn't have room for a second crib. She's 2.5 loved her crib and never tried to get out. She's adjusted well and for the most part stays in and just calls for us especially if it's dark (we share a room that is divided so she can't see us). If it's light she usually gets up and comes to my side of the bed.

Ooh, bgkc4, where should we grab lunch after the aquarium? Last time we went (pre-DD) we grabbed pizza at Pizzeria Stella, but I wonder if there's anything good close to the waterfront.
