Thanks everyone! It was a scary morning- I basically wasn't dilating past 1cm and sometimes when I had a contraction, there were decels on the monitor. As we were about to test how she did on pitocin, her heart rate just dropped and suddenly people were running in the room and flipping me over and then ripping wires off of me saying we were going straight to the OR (for reference, I was hooked up to an IV, pulse monitor, epidural, the baby monitor, a portable EKG, and an oxygen mask so it was a lot of cords!)
Between her heart dropping and being born was less than 20 minutes. It was honestly the scariest moment in my entire life. Also, because this was my luck, the right side of my body didn't really take to the pain meds so I felt a lot of pain on half of my body. H didn't see her come out but was let in just after she was pulled out.
Juliet Rose weighed 5lbs3oz (at 40w6d!) and is 18.5 inches long. I'll post a photo on the locked board.
Wow! What a strong momma! Juliet is in good hands with such a capable, level-headed mom in the midst of a scary entrance to the world. Hope you both are doing well and big congratulations to you.

I'm recovering really well. I have to stop myself sometimes because I feel good enough to do more than I should.
The thing that is getting me is just how close to the brink she was. Her heart rate dropped to 40. It makes me sick to my stomach to think about and I know it's mostly hormones but my God. I could have lost her and I'm so fucking thankful I didn't. I wish I could get it out of my head.
Sending love, katespade! As scary as it was for you, I'm so glad we live in a time where you and your baby are both safe. And don't let yourself push too hard! You deserve a few weeks of sitting around recovering. =)
