I have three different carriers. For DD I used a Moby wrap for the newborn tiny stage. Then I switched to a ssc because it was easier and the stretchy wrap just wasn't as secure. I also have as woven wrap which is great for all sizes, but does come with a learning curve.

Great idea!

I had a B'jorn with DD. I did not love it. She was really tiny and I felt like she sort of got lost in it. I also bought it specifically because I wanted the option of her facing out. I did that once, it killed my back, and never again. So this time around facing out isn't on my list of demands.

I want something more wrap/K'tan for the early phase so she can squish in there. I also think for around the house that will be much easier than a full carrier and with a toddler at home I think I'll need to wear this one more than I did with DD. Honestly the K'tan seems easier than the wrap which is why I'm leaning that way. And in my mind this will be a short term solution because I'll only use it when she's really tiny. I want something cool as well because we walk everywhere and I don't want both of us completely hot sweaty messes (mainly her).

I am normally a bit more decisive but since I didn't like the B'jorn I want to make sure to get this choice right. I am checking for a baby wearing group. You'd think there would be tons in NY but they are all in Brooklyn with the hipsters....uch that's so far away!

We used the Infantino Flip when DS was super little. It worked fine until he was 15 pounds or so, then it got a little heavy and uncomfortable. It was only $20 (same price as the infant insert for the Ergo) and seemed like a good investment to test the waters. Since he liked the carrier, we bought an Ergo Sport and have used it since. The last time we used it was hiking at Yosemite last summer (DS was 3.5) and he was getting too heavy and long for it, but it worked really well all the way through! For this LO, I'll probably use the Ergo from the beginning with the rolled up blanket instead of the infant insert. I still have to research on youtube how that part really works. I kept the INfantino just in case I don't like the rolled blanket approach.

With DS I used the ergo from early on, I just rolled up a swaddle blanket and put it under his bum. He is an August baby so I didn't want to buy the infant insert, I though he would be too hot. DS is almost 20 months now and is still happy in the ergo. It has been a life saver while traveling solo!

ETA I would like to get a solly baby wrap (similar to a moby) this one around because I think it will be easier around the house and DS still uses the ergo occasionally.

I didn't wear DD1 much, but it was a necessity for baby 2. I loved the ring sling I had for when she was teeny. I would wear her around the house, shopping, family events it was great. When she got a little older I really liked the Ergo. This time I'm going to try the K'tan as well.

I watched quite a few YouTube videos that helped me really learn how to use the ring sling.

I would also add, that I'm not an expert, but I think the carriers that baby would forward face in are not recommended. The babies legs dangle and it is not good for their hips.

I just got my k'tan yesterday and it was exponentially easier to put on than the Moby, which I gave up on with DS because it was too complicated. We'll see how it goes with putting an actual baby in there, but the stuffed bear I had in there yesterday was happy! It seemed tight, but I'm thinking I'll lose some weight and I've heard that they can get kind of stretched out, so I guess this is a good thing that it's tight now. txmommy14 from the other thread- I got it in black because I'm boring!

With DS I used the Beco Gemini and I liked it pretty well. I'm going to get another structured carrier this time though (either Ergo or Tula) because I want something with a little wider base for baby.

nymama917 I am in the same place as you but I had the original ergo with DS. I didn't like it when he was super small because it seemed too big and bulky. I wish I got the 360 cause he would have loved to face out. I never looked into another carrier because I felt like I spent so much on the ergo I have to use it and like it. It wasn't bad when DS got bigger though.

I was thinking about the k'tan for when this one is tiny because it looks much easier than the moby.

A coworker also gave me a bjorn so I will have that to try out too.

I think I need to get some sort of carrier. I would like to use it grocery shopping and especially when we go to Disney in February. I read the Ergo 360 is supposed to seat the babies correctly in the forward facing position. Maybe I'll look at the K'tan also.

With DD, we used the K'tan at the beginning because she was so tiny. I couldn't figure out the Moby wrap last time. but, I was gifted one again so we will try to use it since I got rid of my K'tan.

We have an Ergo that I used up until DD was 2.5 with no issues. We did forward and back wearing with really no issues. Though for hiking we have a Kelty backpack that she loved and we used when she was close to one and up until three. DD is on the small side (3.5 and 31 pounds).

I am hoping to try a Gemini or purchase another K'tan as this kid will be small as well I want options. We also would use the Ergo with a swaddle blanket on the bottom.

Before I knew I was having twins I was dead set on getting a Tula. However, I have instead gotten the TwinGo that can be worn tandem or I can wear one baby and DH can wear the other with the extra straps. It's still ergonomic for their legs, which is important to me.

Other than that, I registered for a K'Tan for the tiny days. I MIGHT be able to get them both in there at the very, very beginning. But the K'Tan will be mostly for wearing one baby while tending to the other with my free arms.

I currently have three carriers on my registry... a K'tan, an Infantino Mei Tai, and a Tula. My SIL also gave me two ring slings already. Overkill? Perhaps, but I definitely see myself being a carrying type of mom. These are more important to me than a stroller. And like bighair12, we'll be getting a big carrier backpack too (Kelty, Osprey, or Deuter - I'll have to compare models) but we'll wait until baby has head control before purchasing that and then try out the different models in the store. I have my annual REI rebate set aside specifically for that purchase, however.

I do have to say I wish I knew about Tulas before I bought my ergo. I've only heard great things about them!

With DS I had a Baby Bjorn. I didn't wear him much because it hurt my back. I plan to wear #2 a lot more so I am planning on getting a Lillebaby and a K'tan. I'm glad to hear there are people here who liked the K'tan. I also thought I about getting a ring sling but I think I'm covered with the SSC and wrap.

My friend who had twins could fit both babies in a Moby together until they were about 3 months old!

With DS I used a Moby through the newborn stage then an Ergo. I had a ring sling and Osana wrap that I never really got the hang of so I sold the ring sling and am now regretting it. I now have a Beco Toddler that I use for DS and want to buy a Beco Gemini Cool for 2.0.

I had a b'jorn and ergo last time. Did NOT like the b'jorn and already got rid of it. I did like the ergo, but I didnt feel like it was a necessity to wear him all the time, so I didn't take advantage of it as much as I should have. I'm planning to wear this baby all of the time! I bought a Boba at one point, but after watching YouTube videos, I was still a bit overwhelmed, even though I hear it's easy. I ended up returning it! I got a K'tan this time after seeing lots of friends wear them and I am actually really excited about it. I got it in gray. I would also like to try a ring sling, but don't want to shell out the money unless I'm sure I will like it.

I see nothing wrong with multiple carriers with different functions. DD1 loves being worn and if it weren't for my pregnancy symptoms, I'd still be wearing her. That's one reason I invested in my woven. I am sure DD2 will be worn a lot. We're even thinking of just skipping the double stroller and wearing her with DD1 in the stroller. I figure if we need something for both kids, we won't need it til DD2 is bigger and we'll get a wagon.

I am excited to have my wrap from the get go this time. So many more carries I can try!

athn64 I am not getting a double stroller and plan on wearing #2 instead. Plus we hardly use the stroller. DS prefers walking or his Radio Flyer trike.

DD definitely prefers walking right now. But when we're going along busy streets, she needs contained, so we're using it more than we used to. I need to get that kid a leash.

We have an Ergo that we used with DS and DH and I both loved it. I got a K'Tan for this time and figure that I can use that and DH can use the Ergo so we won't need to worry about adjusting it all the time. I'm also planning to keep one carrier in each car, so we'll each always have one. I can't tell you how many times we forgot to bring the Ergo when we were out with DS!

I was intimidated by the Moby, but I tried it at a BWI meeting and loved it. Not sure why I was afraid, I've always enjoyed stuff like origami and fancy napkin folding. So, that for the early days. A lilebaby for older days and DH, who got tangled in the wrap and ended up sort of like a cat stuck in a sweatshirt sleeve.

It's a lot of fabirc at first glance. There's an immediate WTF did I get myself into thought. But it works really nicely.

This is our plan too.  DS still likes the stroller at 4.25 so we'll plan on using the carrier as needed when DS wants to ride.  We're also probably going to get the skateboard attachment for DS, but need to take him to BBB to test it out and see if he likes it first.  It seems like something he'd love, but who knows....I have a feeling he'll be a bit possessive of "his stroller".  We aren't getting a wagon though as a lot of places around us don't allow them (Theme parks, zoos, etc.) and they're much harder to pull and maneuver than a stroller.

I recently joined a FB group for baby wearing in my city. Apparently all the claims that forward facing and Bjorn carriers are bad for hips is undocumented.

I have a stretchy wrap, ergo, ring sling, Mei tai, and woven wrap. I have used them all and wouldn't give any up. They have all been useful for different occasions and at different ages. I'm hoping to get a short wrap when this baby is older because I love a simple ruck carry.

I loved my moby for the first few months. DD did too. It was so snuggly. Having a summer baby makes be a bit concerned bc it will be hot - but I'm going to give it a go.
We also have the becco Gemini. DD loved being able to forward face and that was one of my few options back then. DH also liked carrying her on his back.

I haven't read everything yet. I borrowed my sister's Moby which I liked for the really little phase. I may borrow my friend's Boba wrap this time, although maybe not since it'll be hot here in the summer. I'm planning to get a linen ring sling for this baby. We used the ergo for DD which was okay. But around 6-9 months I bought a kinderpack which I LOVE! I also really like Tulas, but went with the kp because of the koolnit which is more comfortable for summer here. I also have a woven wrap that I still need to break in.

For hiking we use a Thule (sapling I think)

Also I'm totally skipping the double stroller. I can count the number of times I've used our umbrella stroller. I do use my jogging stroller when I jog (which is not enough). I don't know what I'll do when there are 2. I feel like I don't use it enough to justify buying a double

I wish we could skip the double stroller and just baby wear!! Sadly there are times/places where wearing won't work as well so we have to invest in a double stroller as well.

regal, What kind of ring sling do you have? I really want one and really want to carry this baby more, but I don't know if I want to shell out $80-100.
