I don't want to work today. At all. H and I (and LO of course) are heading down to NYC for the weekend as soon as we get out today and it just can't get here quickly enough.
Happy Friday! littlelion Leave for work early or TCF a little more from home... Tough call dashook We're also heading out of town today after work and I know it's going to make today go by soooo slowly. Safe travels!
I was at my "peak" fertility on my OPK this morning so I started my day off with some sexy time. Fx something sticks! We're headed to my parents' this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Every year we go have dinner at the same place we did our rehearsal dinner, and this year I'm surprising DH with staying the night at the hotel we got married at. I'm super excited! Hopefully today goes by quickly so I can get my weekend started.
Good morning ladies. Up and at em again. Dh took the day off to stay home and help. Right now I'm sitting here with a cranky lo watching Sesame Street while he's at the store.

Just a got back from 15 month appointment. Everything was good, but hoping the shots don't make him too sore/grumpy. He fell asleep on the way home and I got him to his crib, but he usually would've eaten lunch by now. Our schedule is all screwed up. Mh should get done work early today, so I think we are going to meet at ikea and get some ideas for our new place.

Hoping for some opinions.... Our new place has a pretty big living room and a small dining room. We are planning to make the dining room a play room and just put the kitchen table at one end of the living room and splitting that space. In my mind having a completely baby proofed and gated in room where he can play while I do dishes and get other stuff done will be huge (plus it will greatly reduce the amount of toys around our living room since right now that's his main/only play space) but do you think I'll regret not having as much adult space and having eating area and living room combined?

I like that idea. But then again my house is basically all baby play areas.
So, DH is leaving for Mexico on Sunday. He wants to ensure he gets to see his dad alive. They don't think he'll get his operation later this month since he's so weak. He'll be gone at least 5-6 weeks. I'll miss him so bad. Leo is gonna miss his daddy more.
Sorry to hear about your FIL littlelion. That's a long time to be gone. My LO would be sad too reginaphalange, I think it sounds like your plan would be something that is positive in that it helps you get stuff done. If it turns out that you later miss the "grownup" space you could always reconfigure once LO is older and you don't need to rely on babyproofing as much.

littlelion ha yes, us too. I'm hoping this would make every other room a little less filled with baby stuff! So sorry about your FIL. I'm glad YH will get to see him, but that will be a long time for you and L! Will he have the ability to facetime? nemomof2 thanks! dashook good point! Hopefully we will only be there a year (or 2) to save up more to buy, but we can always switch it anytime if it's not working out.
littlelion that's tough. I'm sorry. You got this though! Will this impact YH's citizenship stuff?
reginaphalange3 I think that sounds like a good idea! I have a whole room in my house devoted to just kid stuff. It does help contain it (though nothing will ever TOTALLY keep all the toys in one space). When you move in a few years, it's probably perfect timing to change up the way you will have your space. Eventually you get adult areas back (in like 14 years).
reginaphalange3 No facetime. I'll be lucky to talk to him. His town has spotty coverage. He'd have to travel to the city. kcrus basically, once he leaves he can't come back until he finalizes his visa paperwork which starts later this month. Hence, the longer duration.

I'm sorry mama. That's hard. My H was gone for six weeks when I had my third baby (from the time he was two weeks to eight weeks old). The baby didn't notice but I sure did. We will be here sending you lots of creepy internet hugs and support!
nemomof2 ugh, hope AF gets its shit together soon! BabyStandish I laughed SO hard at that. So true! reginaphalange3 how's B faring after his shots? I like your idea! And if you find it's not working, you can always rearrange! littlelion so many hugs to you, mama! We're here if you need us. kcrus how's your ds feeling today? ourcrazynavylife how's your house hunt going?
Lo woke up in a great mood after his morning nap and was AWESOME while dh and I got things ready. He followed us around the house and was content to entertain himself. It helps that he loves the vacuum, broom and other cleaning supplies. Lol
The realtor was very positive about our house and flipped over lo's nursery. There's not a ton on the market here though, so we might delay listing it because we don't want to end up homeless. The timing of having to sell then buy is a little scary.
