I'm jealous of everyone's long sleep stretches. My little guy will be 5 weeks on saturday and he only goes 1.5 hours during nignt so we feed several times. I'm so tired!!! It's insane. We have no real bed time or routine yet. He is a very noisy sleeper so I'm awake most of the the time trying to figure out if he needs me or not. I hope this gets better.

My MIL is coming over at 9:30 tomorrow morning to "observe our routine" since she'll be watching LO two days a week when I go back to work. Right now our routine is wake up, eat, change diaper, then maybe tummy time for a few minutes, then back in the PnP to go back to sleep. There's not much to observe. Also, MIL likes to talk. A lot. About her self. And her rental properties. And she just bought a new property, so I'm sure I'll get to hear all about it at great length... Just what I want to do in the morning instead of enjoying quiet Mommy-Baby time!

I'd been getting up with DS at 1.5-2 hour intervals because I figured the meeps and squeaks and grunts were precursors to hunger. The last two nights I've let her fuss a little and I'm realizing she's just kind of noisy (not hungry). She's actually pretty regular at nursing every three hours if I wait for concrete nursing cues.

I feel like shit because of this fucking cold/virus, and my kids are naughty as hell. I'm so glad this day is DONE! At least the baby doesn't talk back to me.
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!
Crap I have a uti, I totally should have stayed in the hospital another day since ds is currently doing photo therapy and I had to send dh to get me a prescription and it was a 2 hour wait. Even though it would have cost me $250, I would totally pay that not to have the crappy day I've been having.

I'm glad the day is over but we have one more groundhog day, since like bill Murray I'm stuck doing the same hospital run tomorrow morning but hopefully my outcome is different and they can stop testing for jaundice...walking through that gigantic hospital almost killed me, I was in so much pain...ironically ds was born on groundhogs day and I joked about having to repeat that day over and over again like in the movie...and although I love my son I had a horrible day after I woke up (had him near midnight) , I lost 1.5 liters of blood and the solution for that was less than comfortable!

I survived.
Next challenge: tomorrow's Dr. Appt. I'll be tackling it alone with both kids bright and early at 9 am! Which means I need to leave by 820 am. I still don't have my double stroller, so I guess I'll wear Liam, and rangle Owen.
Our nursing sessions seem to be getting shorter. In the beginning it was like 40 minutes. Then we have been sitting at 30 minutes for about 2.5 weeks. Yesterday and today he's done after about 20 minutes. Something is just different. He fusses to be fed, latches on feeds for 10 minutes then just hangs out still latched but really uninterested unless I try and take him off. Probably just mom brain worrying too much
I'm pretty sure that's a good thing, baby is getting more efficient, do you hear him sucking and swallowing? If not you can try breast compressions, I just tried it last night and it seemed to help my sleepy baby stay on track and draw out milk versus just hanging out suckling.

Yes the first 20 minutes he's sucking and swallowing really good. The next 10 minutes he's pretty lazy. By breast compression do you just mean like hand expressing while he's feeding to help the milk out?

I can relate to that too, S has his third weight check tomorrow. I'm so nervous for that too.

This. LO is soooo noisy. But when I pick him up he is actually startled as I figured he is fussing in his sleep. Granted his diaper is wet and he'll eat, but he really wasn't awake.
I have been letting him fuss a little, as he quiets back down...just woke up and LO gave us 4 hours, I was up as he was fussing at 3 hour mark but he settled back down.
