hammysmommy jumping in to ask if he could go to a doctors appointment with you? Maybe hearing the doctor would help.
I think that's a good idea. And maybe specifically ask the doc about foods? It should be more you have a specific list if foods to avoid (honey, nuts, etc) rather than getting permission for each specific thing. Or if he likes books can you get him a newer baby book?
hammysmommy my DH honestly thought LO would be eating purees until he was 2. Even mil was like "he's going to pick that chicken up and eat it?" Maybe he's forgotten how dsd transitioned to finger foods?
OMG the thought of spoonfeeding a two year old purees makes me laugh and laugh. I cannot imagine that working out well.
As an aside, despite that I love my Mom, I rarely go to her for advice on when babies should do x milestone because a) so much has changed in the past 30yrs, and b) our parents don't remember exactly so I swear they just make up dates/times that seem right in their mind.

bluedot, I wouldn't get too hung up on proper cyst popping protocol, just make sure your hands and the area are clean, and clean the area well afterward. Good luck! Now I want to pop something.
So, possibly dumb question, but how small is everyone cutting up LO's finger foods now? LO loves everything I give her but I struggle with knowing how big I can make the pieces and I think I'm probably cutting things up too small.

I'm more inclined to cut things in strips. He takes bites, and it's easier for him to pick up/hold. My mom cuts things up soooooo small for him. I'm not sure I could pick them up!

I'm lazy, FTR, so not very small. I focus my energy on round items (blueberries, grape tomatoes, etc) that could pose a choking hazard and tough things to chew like meats or harder veggies. Softer and/or well cooked fruits/veggies I just throw on there whole/in slices. Shredded meats, or ground meat (like meatballs) I just do whole chunks, and bread/waffles/etc I do strips. Crumbly things, like a muffin, I just tear in half. She's good about chewing/taking bites and spitting out bites bigger than she likes. I put smaller chunks to keep the waste/amounts thrown to dog lower moreso than fears about choking.

This. I find myself cutting things up super small but I think she's ready for bigger. She's also a chipmunk eater and tends to stuff her cheeks with everything on her plate so I lean towards smaller bites because of this.
jammersc I only do small pieces for things like meat or even chicken that require a bit more chewing. Everything else, I usually give to her in chunks. Some things, like muffins (I give her the mini ones) I will just give to her whole. She's pretty good about taking bites and if she puts too much in her mouth, she'll spit it out.
laur did you need anything specific from World Market... Is this store not all over by you? I still owe you a very belated thank you...! Should I go pick out fun foreign candies??
There are none in NY. The closest one is NJ and that involves tolls.
I became addicted to it when my sister was at George Washington. I love everything, but they never ever offer free shipping/returns.
AND ETA- you don't owe me anything. I've got a big 'ol slice of karma headed my way.
tec124 I have a chipmunk eater too. I can't put more than a few bites on her tray or she will stuff everything in her mouth without chewing or swallowing. But then she also wont eat more than a few bites. Can't win with these babies.
RSVP update. NMG must have got on some people (probably told them I was balling my eyes out over not knowing...) people actually responded! And it happened with in 5 minutes of eachother so they are def in kahoots but yay for being able to get an idea of how many people to prepare food for!
tessymessy and I had a lovely 2 1/2 hour lunch at Wegs! She had a sensible, balanced lunch and I had turkey chili, sushi and a chocolate chip cookie LOL. We had a chat/therapy session and you should all be jealous because we are the best ; ) we decided we must have the #nanasweater make the F14 rounds. Who wants it first?
