Do you have the Sprout Network? DS loved almost every show on that channel. That and Sesame Street HBO on demand.
Is the Sprout Network just a normal channel?? Tell me more! If it is I will check my cable listings. I don't have HBO but I think I can steal my parents' login to watch online...
It's just a regular channel, but I don't think every cable provider carries it. Mine is around Nick Jr., Disney Jr., etc.

It's an MSNBC channel... we have basic TV and watch it on NBC (channel 13 for you and me) on Saturday mornings.
I've been so terrified that Netflix will get rid of pooh and tinkerbell that I bought used copies of the DVDs. It's also nice for when the internet goes down.
Totally off topic and also stupid - do you feed your toddler lunch meat? Is it ok to do that? Maybe I'm thrown off because you're not supposed to eat it while pregnant.

I have. I didn't know it might be a problem. She eats turkey pepperoni and summer sausage too.
My friend with a DD about 7 months older than DS wants me to do mommy and me gymnastics with them. I told her I'd do a trial class and see but ugh it's tonight and I don't really want to. I spend all day with the kid. I'm not trying to book up nights just me and him too. Why do I always say yes to things?!

I always have second thoughts too. I think it's safe. At least by this age, but I try to do it sparingly because idk how much sodium is going on in there. He's not a big fan of turkey lunch meat.

Is it too late to cancel?
Well I gave myself an out because he's been sick so I said I'd have to see how he's feeling, but if I cancel tonight she'll ask about next week. I need to grow a pair and either just say no, or suck it up and do it. We'd probably have a good time, it's just the thought of getting ready, trying to fit dinner in, etc. My ideal scene would be if H would take him and I could have a night to myself each week. But his work schedule varies anyways. Ahh that sounds heavenly though lol

Totally okay. The concern with pregnancy is listeria resulting in miscarriage/stillbirth and some doctors will tell you this concern is pointless as recent listeria outbreaks have been in produce which no one tells pregnant women to avoid. It has been a staple protein of our LO's diet since she started on solids!

I do, but I only buy him Applegate Farms. Same with hot dogs. I figure he's got his whole life to eat crap, so I try to control it for now. I often give him cut up ham or turkey with cheese and some fruit for lunch. Super easy. I buy this brand only for him. DH and I prefer chemicals and our deli meat to come freshly sliced from the deli counter. The prepackaged stuff makes me want to hurl, but DS eats it.

What time is it at? I say go! I know for me, SAH offers little socializing. I'd probably look forward to it each week. Plus, you could just do an easy dinner on that night and the socialization will be good for him.

Yes, that's our exact lunch lately- turkey, cheese, fruit. It's so easy I should have thought of it a long time ago!

Yeah, pretty sure it's fine. We don't do it a whole lot. I think nitrates are the bad part so we just limit how often we do it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You're probably right. It's at 5:45. I'm weird about social stuff, I get anxious. It sounds fun when I first agree to it, and it's usually fine once I'm there. But in the middle (psyching myself to actually go), I dread it.
I've been doing better about trying harder with people and doing more things. And this girl is so nice and fun. But she's very outgoing and talkative and it makes me retreat back into my shell. Plus I feel a little exhausted after being around her lol

If it makes you feel better, prepackaged is generally safer. It has the exact same ingredients and additives as the deli counter meat except it hasn't been continuously handled by employees using difficult to sanitize equipment.

I say, she's probably the exact person you need right now! I've learned us shy people have to work at/practice socializing by forcing ourselves to talk. She sounds like the best person to practice with.

I'm super anti social and we just started toddler gymnastics- it's great and the focus is so much on toddler wrangling that it's not too much awkward social stuff. I say go and switch off with your h. It doesn't always have to be the same parent who does it. Best of all worlds because I bet F would love it. J cries when it's time to leave.

That's a good point. But I feel like I can't get a word in edgewise even if I wanted to! But after not having routine social interaction this past year and a half (and being quiet natured anyways), I literally feel shell-shocked being around such a bubbly person. And you're right, I probably do need to be around that to snap myself out of whatever's going on.
Thanks mrsnorris! I'm glad to hear you guys like it too. This girl and her DD did it last week and she kept talking about how much she loved it. But her DD is older and already used to being around lots of kids (plus seems to just have an outgoing personality in general), so I was still a little wary on DS's reaction.

Miss you around here!!
Last week was our first session and it clearly pushed her out of her comfort zone at first (she's always at home with me) but she loved it by the end and I think it's good for her. I miss being here! It makes me sad things are so slow:(
