Has anyone ever heard of drinking raspberry leaf tea to help with improve the health of your uterus? Apparently its great for cramps and stuff, but also helps prepare your uterus for child birth?
I've heard we're not supposed to drink it because it can cause contractions, especially in first tri. A lot of people drink at the end to bring on labour.
My doctor told me to stay away from all herbal stuff to be on the safe side.
I am back at work today. We will see how much actual work I am able to get done...
How was the drive yesterday?
I hope you have an easy day!
The drive was very scary, passing semi's is the worst, but it did help me realize that I need to take a back road from that highway to the next one I have to be on and avoid the spot of my accident all together for awhile. I think that driving is just going to be very frightening for awhile.
ginabini I'm going to run it by my OB but plan on drinking it starting around 34 weeks. I've heard it really helps condition your uterus which is supposed to help have more proactive contractions (which is then supposed to shorten labor).
sarcaztic10 hugs, the first couple weeks after a major accident are very nerve-wracking. I was in a bad one in HS and for years afterwards I would tense up anytime I had to drive in a far lane right up against a guard rail. Good idea taking a different route!
katelou Exactly! It was the one thing I kept telling myself, it might suck for a couple months but if we can pay down our bills it will be worth it! I might lose my sanity by the end but at least financially we'll be all good
rungirlrun I think that's a bit much for an OB to just throw out there especially with no positive test. Like other people said there's plenty of reasons for a late period, stress being one!
I'm just sitting out at the rummage sale enjoying the wonderful weather while the kids play. I bought a stroller/bike for DD and she is loving it.

Glad you got behind the wheel again. I hope it gets easier each time you drive.

cavewmn, comicSans, glaze - thanks for your feedback. I'm super annoyed at her OB. I think it's unprofessional to just assume and throw out the word miscarriage to someone. Yes, it could have been a CP but it could also have been one of 20 other things. TTC can already be an emotional tough journal for many that added stress doesn't help. I'm mad for her.

Yes! I drank this tea before my ivf cycle tp promote good uterine circulation and plan to buy more so I can start drinking it in 3rd try. I read lots a great reviews on the tea from pregnant ladies.
So wanted to get your thoughts on a TTC comment my friend got. She called me the other day to vent about not being pregnant yet. She's on month 6 and knows it's not that long and isn't calling an RE but like many woman is getting frustrated. She temps and everything so she knows what she's doing.
Anyway, her cycles have been like clockwork - 28 days for months. Last month, her period was late. As expected, she got excited and took a couple of pregnancy tests over that week until she got her period at 35 days. Tests were negative. She had her annual exam scheduled then anyway so she brought it up with her OB. He immediately said well you probably had a miscarriage. Just hearing that word brought about a lot of emotions for her and she just doesn't know what to think of everything. She and her H are continuing to try and she knows that it will probably just take a little bit more time so she's not freaking out. I think her OB's comment surprised her and made her emotional.
I thought that was a bit much for him to assume a miscarriage based on 1 late period (no testing was done). Or is that really what may have happened? Thoughts? I know many of you are more knowledgable than me in GKU.
Wow I would have freaked the fuck out on her ob. My cycles were 25 days like clock work ever since going off BCP 6 yrs ago and I had an irregular cycle of 40 days last April. My OB wasn't concerned at all and said you can be regular for a decade and still end up with an irregular cycle at some point. She prob just had an irregular cycle for whatever reason...her ob is an insensitive ass.

I'm glad you were able to drive at least. Take your time going to the highway. Hugs!

She needs to find a new OB. Someone who just throws the miscarriage word around isn't someone I would trust with my body. There are many reasons your period can be late. You're regular until you're not.
It could just be she was stressed, her cycle decided to throw her for a loop, she ovulated late, and many other reasons besides a CP.
This.
She is temping, so I'm wondering if it was her follicular phase or her luteal phase that was longer. If her follicular phase was longer (pre-ovulation), it's really nothing to scoff at--totally normal to have a varying cycle in that respect, especially a variance of only 7 days. If her luteal phase was longer, then that changes things, but even then, it isn't totally abnormal to have a slightly varying LP. Cycles can change at any time. Given that she had no positive tests, I wouldn't venture out to say she had a MC or CP, just a longer cycle. I'd definitely recommend for her to sign up for a Fertility Friend account (available on the web or in app format) if she isn't using it yet.
Can I have a belated throat punch Thursday on a Friday for my principal. I passed her in the hall and she went "geez - smile!" And I went "heh heh I'm just really sore and tired" aka I feel like crap and the kids are shit heads she goes "well you have a long ways to go yet! You should still have a bounce in your step!"

Ewww def TP worthy! I get so freaking mad when people tell me to smile!

Yep definitely TP worthy! I hate when people make comments like that. My grandparents asked me how I'm feeling when I was over a couple days ago, and after saying I feel huge/uncomfortable and my backs hurts my grandma responded with the same thing as your principal. The only reason I didn't say anything snarky back is because she's a sweet old woman and also never experienced pregnancy (my mom and her siblings were all adopted), so I can't expect her to understand. Anyone else though gets the look of death!
rungirlrun - I'm really side eyeing that OB for saying that so casually with absolutely nothing to back that up. If she didn't turn a + HPT or have blood work done than that makes no sense.
sarcaztic10 - Hugs lady! I'm proud of you for getting back in a car so soon. Hope it gets easier soon.

DH ripped up a good chunk of our patio yesterday (we're redoing it). It's sad that it actually looks better ripped up than it did with the old patio! I can't believe we haven't done this sooner.

My mom has said a few things like this and since I'm adopted and she's never been pregnant I try not to be to complainy around her and ignore her comments like...you should feel lucky you have migraines or hip pain or whatever bc you're pregnant! She had a hysterectomy at 38 and told me abdominal surgery isn't that bad so I shouldn't expect a c section to be such a difficult recovery. I got annoyed bc if I do get a c section I do not need her comparing my recovery with her hysterectomy.
So I'm sorry you guys are dealing with annoying crumby comments. My mother does that shit too, but I can't contradict her so I'm stuck. I mean the woman was diagnosed with cancer right after having me so she had a newborn and chemo/radiation. Basically, she wins, and I have to shut my mouth and internally seethe when baby topics come up.

Send help guys. Had an epic naptime poop disaster! I may never set foot in DS's room again or use our washing machine. I need alcohol.
But speaking of alcohol, I had a dream last night that I was at a party. Because I'm pregnant, I had to be a little careful, but I was allowed to have 1 beer and 1 pot brownie?! No need to be lame bc we are pregnant.
