There were bedtime tears....but I was expecting worse. She threw the dog out of the bed in anger because he had her binky. Hahaha planned backfired but at least I will always have it as a memory right?! Maybe she will come around to it in a few days. We aren't cry it out people because she always had a stronger will than us but we let her cry for like 10 minutes and then I laid with her for 5 and she was asleep. She's not one to sleep through the night most nights so I'm dreading how this goes.
Sorry the first night didn't go too well. Stay strong and she'll get it within a few days! Good luck!
AFM, I have a car seat but not a car, so, there's that. Well, I have a 2 door coupe and I'm starting to feel crazy for thinking it'll work for a while.
It's a big pain in the butt, but it definitely can work to put an infant car seat in a 2 door coupe. MH drove a 2 door Ford Focus until DS was around 9 months when we switched him to a convertible seat.
packerfan4life my ob's wife ended up going into labor the same day as me so I had someone else deliver ds. I was pretty disappointed to be caught of guard like that when I was expecting him to be there all along. I didn't have any complications so it wasn't that big of a deal in the long run and now the ob who actually delivered ds will deliver this baby too. I think if I were you I'd switch now to give you time to meet the new ob.
nymama917 I hope the rest of the night went okay. To be expected that she would be sad/mad, but like every transition I hope it only takes a few nights at most. I still think that was such a clever idea.
I've had a week to sleep in as much as I want and I've woken up before 6 everyday. I guess early bird catches the worm, but come on body, sleep is nice.

packerfan4life... It'll work out!! If it's an established professional, I'm sure they competently handle your situation.
I think it's probably more common than you think for a provider someone's not seen before to deliver someone's baby. I know at my practice there's a bunch of midwives, so if you actually got to see the ONE that's there at the time you go into labor - it's a crapshoot.
@gomamba15 - as long as DD was in her infant bucket seat - my two door coup was perfectly fine. When we went to the rear-facing convertible (about 8 months) - then I bought something with 4 doors.
nymama917 - for the first night, I'd call that a success!
Thanks for the photo advice everyone!!! I need to buy some new dark jeans and suck it up.

packerfan4life I know a lot of people who got all their prenatal care at a different place from the hospital where they delivered. I think it's common to want the prenatal care close/convenient but then want or need access to a larger facility for delivery (for better pediatrician coverage and NICU services, especially, which I'm 100% in favor of). You can definitely switch last-minute. Just go into that one visit with a) all of your prenatal records including labs and ultrasound reports, and b) a list of all the questions you have.
Oh, I don't have a car seat yet either. Or a place for baby to sleep. Or any other supplies other than some clothes. It will all come together!

Thanks. You guys are all making me feel better! I figured it would be just like getting an on call doc since even at the practice I'm at now I haven't met anyone other than my ob. And I've had a luckily uncomplicated pregnancy so far, otherwise I would have switched earlier.
GOmamab15 what sort of cars are you looking at? I'm sure a coup can fit an infant seat but that sounds really annoying.
@frecklesnbrain stuff wise is easy to get last minute! As long as you have an idea of what you want you can knock out the essentials in a day. That's definitely the thing I'm the least stressed about!
So I'm really irritated at my physicians patient portal. They post test results and so on and you can send messages with questions, which is convenient and all. However, right at the top right now is a message informing me that my BMI is too high. I'm over the recommended BMI for my height and I should consult my physician about healthy diet and exercise. I mean, seriously? First of all, pregnant. Secondly, even if I wasn't, if my doctor is concerned about my weight she can bring that up with me in person at the appointment, not in some auto-generated message after the fact. BMI is, in my opinion, a faulty want to gauge a person's appropriate weight anyway. It is hard enough to feel great about your body when you are pregnant, particularly in 3rd tri. The last thing I needed today was some website telling me I'm fat, even when I know not to take it seriously.
Hey all, I've been MIA this week. It was my mom's last week here before she moved to Puerto Rico! Just wanted to say hi!!! We had our last shower yesterday & my husbands friends threw him a diaper party last night. This kid is going to be able to take diapers to college the way they set us up! I'll AW in the shower thread later today.

Haha continuing my saga...you all seem interested but if I'm annoying please tell me to shut up
We had 1 wake-up and she didn't mention the binky at all. She was barely awake and I jumped and ran to her and she laid right back down. She woke up at 7am (little early for her) and was yelling she wanted her binky. She hit me, kicked me (she does this when frustrated and we are working on it but it's only with me) and I talked to her and then we turned on Mickey and all was well. She fell asleep in the stroller today so we didn't have any nap time meltdowns.
Just catching up from the weekend! I had a great time at my retreat but am exhausted (I cannot sleep in beds that aren't my own very well!) It was beautiful and nice to get some time away. I can't believe there are only 6 weeks until my due date...I feel like there are so many things I should be doing!
Yesterday my husband was preparing for the sermon today so I tried to stay out and about so DD wouldn't keep interrupting him. My mom ended up telling me to have a fun day and get something special for DD that she wanted to pay for it which was so sweet. We went to toys r us and she picked a $5 doc mcstuffins microphone and some candy. Got off cheap there I also got her a couple pairs of shorts and a couple t-shirts at target since she is low. It was a fun day. We played in the play area at the mall and I got her a backpack that is small for her to use but also rolls for the hospital with some fun special things to do when the baby comes I'm excited for her to see it all.
soultrane that sounds like a fun day! I have been wanting to take DD there. She is obsessed with stuffed animals. Maybe a good bday gift idea.
I've been lazily productive today. I reviewed all the maternity leave paperwork I'll need to submit, insurance paperwork I'll need, deductible info, insurance breast pump info, and finalized my list of things that we still need to buy before this little guy arrives. All of that was accomplished from the comfort of my recliner!
birdhut, the Build-a-Bear experience is super cute and the staff does a great job of making it memorable. We almost bought a new pair of pajamas for his bear yesterday, but he wasn't interested so we talked about going back for his birthday this year and letting him build a new friend!

That sounds like a lot of fun and I don't blame you if he was satisfied with just looking! That's a good thing to instill. I have to tell DD all the time that she can't get something every time we go to a store and it's ok to just look or like things.
I'm exhausted today. I can't really comprehend that I'm going to keep getting bigger and be like this for another 2 months.
I had to get bigger pants today because I just couldn't anymore with my size 10s. I also got 2 dresses from Target. Most of their dresses are pretty unflattering on me but I'm sick of waist bands so it'll have to work.
There was a girl in Target who was like 5 minutes pregnant and barely showing and complaining about how she's "so not tiny anymore" Ha. Amateurs. I was like that too once. So tiny and naive.
