singingsea what an awful dream. I'm glad he's kicking a lot today. Sooo did your DS eat the oatmeal?
cbrandt1 aside from the new crib for DS1, we haven't bought anything either. I'll probably pick things up here and there as I see them but we really don't need much since we're having another boy. It makes sense for you to wait until after your a/s though. If it's a girl you can buy all the things!
DH and I went on our secret lover anniversary date yesterday. We saw Deadpool (so awesome!) and had an early dinner. My mom watched DS and fed him lunch and dinner. I love when she does that, no clean up for me and we can just throw him in the bath and get ready for bedtime when we get hm. Ooh and I booked the photographer for our newborn photos! Last time I waited too long and the one I wanted was booked. I'm undecided if I'll do a maternity shoot. I didn't last time, but I think it might be cool to get pics of us as a family of 3 one last time.
serendipity731, I plan on doing the same thing as far as photos. We aren't doing 1yr photos for DS, we will just do family pics of the 3 of us in August-ish and cover the maternity ones too. Then of course newborns, if I can convince DH...

I think we may do this too. Not maternity photos but family ones. For DS, I booked 3 different photographers (1 for newborn, 1 for maternity and 1 for one-year). I may look into a package this time around. Less work
I posted in the anatomy thread but can't help but post here as well. We are team pink!!! I'm super excited!! However the scan did show possible fluid around the heart. So I'm trying not to freak out. We have another ultrasound in 5 weeks. I am really praying it resolves on its own by then.
Ok so can I tell you about my crazy MIL and SIL? So BIL's wife is due in July and her shower is next month. SIL (H's sister) is apparently butt hurt that the friends that are throwing other SIL's shower didn't involve her in any planning or whatever. MIL tells me the other day that they're thinking about having their own mini shower (which would just be MIL, the SILs, and me #killmenow) so that SIL can feel more involved. I told MIL to tell SIL it's not that serious and to grow up. And so help me if this shit is pulled when it comes time for the planning of my shower...
Seriously?? Eye roll hard core. I don't grasp why it is a big deal at all she wasn't involved in planning. I feel like she should just be happy other SIL has good friends that wanted to throw her a shower and to be happy she didn't have to worry about the details.
And the kicker was when MIL said we could have a get together and buy stuff off the registry that BIL and SIL hadn't received yet. Um no. I bought their stroller/car seat travel system. Do not need to then shell out more money to complete their registry. I love them and I'm gonna love my nephew but just no.
That deserves strong wording... Fuck no. The travel system is a big present to begin with. Why the hell would you go buy them more just to give them something at an unnecessary mini-shower just because first SIL is being a pain in the ass.

Hi all. Between IKEA and the dog, I walked a ton yesterday and am paying for it today. We have tickets to Mumford & Sons tonight so I need to find some energy somewhere!
I think I have to give into maternity clothes this week, my regular stuff that was still working is no longer looking or feeling quite right, haha. I found my big box of maternity clothes in the basement, wedged under the ping pong table (nice one, DH). I need him to haul it upstairs for me so I can be amused/horrified at just how much maternity fashion has changed in the last 4 years. Hopefully most of it is still workable.

-snip-
Ugh I know how you feel. I have zero mojo today and I'm pretty sure its from doing such a long walk yesterday. Hope you find some energy for tonight! Enjoy the show!

Hopefully my repeating the phrase "that's a terrible idea" shut the idea down because I know BIL's wife will not be thrilled if they actually try to pull this shit.
I can't get my awesome gif to post. It was great, I promise
Apparently I'm going through a "pregnancy purge"...yesterday I sold our mamaroo and I'm currently waiting to meet a lady who is buying my Britax travel system!! 2 more strollers to sell and I'm halfway to buying my double stroller!!!! I want to have a yard sale but DH said no so I'll sell all the stuff on CL o guess!

Well I guess I've officially "popped". This post brought to you by the second stranger in as many days to ask me straight out if I'm pregnant. Oh, how I love awkward interactions, ha.
I'm debating a double...my LO will be 3 when this one is born. And then it's winter which means basically no walking around here. So by the time my LO is 3.5 I'm not sure if a double is still worth it. I'm thinking maybe I'll just wear the baby and use the stroller for my LO when needed.
pippacricket I will be the same way when I get my first mosquito bite and we are in NY. My husband thinks I'm dramatic as well when I talk about it and run when I see a mosquito around me. Haha

It's technically an extendable single. It can be a single, double, or sit n stand. It doesn't come out until late June so I'm not going to be buying it until it's been out at least a month for review and what not.
It's pretty expensive, but we HATED our Britax and we plan on having two more kiddos so if it's half as good as it seems, it should be worth the cost in the long run.
Back from NYC. We had a good time, but it was exhausting! I need to get caught up on everything that happened here.
On a sad news, one of my coworker that I'm friendly with lost he nephew (12) and SIL in the earthquake in Ecuador. It's so sad. Her BIL and niece survived.

cassey910 congrats on the little girl! Positive thoughts your way that everything clears up.
pippacricket oh JFC, that's ridiculous. If she wanted to be involved she should've offered in the beginning. Sometimes too many planners is a PITA though. She needs to get over herself. And +1 for fuck no to a completion gift. Especially since you got the travel system.
merryrissmas ooh have fun tonight! I saw them a few years ago and they were awesome!
singingsea are you serious?! You guys just got it fixed! Hopefully you can get it working soon.
cbowl I'm trying to decide about a double stroller too. I'm thinking I'll do the same at first, wear baby and use single stroller. The double stroller I'm eyeing is either the city mini side by side, Britax , or the Joovy. Lucie's list has a good comparison of them. Have you considered a sit n stand? Your DS should be old enough by the time you need one.
I never did 1yr photos for DS, is that bad? My only concern with maternity photos is that I'll feel fat and gross and I'll hate how I look in them.
No. We're in New England. I'm just over dramatic according to my husband.
I just remembered... when this whole Zika thing became big news, FIL called to say that he had been calling around our area (he lives 1,000 miles away) to find someone who would come spray our property for mosquitos. Furthermore, he planned to come to visit to make sure it was done well. We live over a mile above sea level and don't get mosquitos. Also, it was February. God bless him for caring about me that much, though.
