Thought it might be nice to have a place where people can ask for/get recommendations for good brands/products.
And mostly I wonder if any of the STMs can recommend their favorite nursing bras. Especially those with larger sizes (34G+)/good support. I know size will change when milk comes in but I want a few bras/sizes ordered ahead of time and I'll return the ones that don't fit. I am the type of person who feels super uncomfortable being braless unless I'm sleeping so I want some on hand

I can't vouch quite for your size, but I'm bigger busted and I'm a fan of bravado nursing bras, I have 2 body silk ones, one the "yoga" and the other the regular one.

Glad to hear you like these. I've noticed that they're really well-reviewed but I've been wondering if they're worth the $$. They have nice-looking nursing tanks too.

I have a dream nursing tank too, I like you can order more size specific for them. I'm not in love with how it looks, but they fit well, even when pregnant and surprisingly have a bit of support.
ETA: all mine I got on a sale, either from bravado or a distributor. If you sign up for their emails they send you a 10% off code, but my best deal was a sale from a retail distributer near me.
Bravado were my favorite. But I can't wear anything with an underwire when nursing so I stick to the ones that give me a giant uni boob. They're super comfortable and have really held up well.
packerfan4life, I have a great rec for this-Motherhood Maternity Jessica Simpson seamless bra. I seriously wore it out so much during the year after DS was born, that I can't reuse it. I also wear a bra to bed usually. I hated Target nursing bras because the underwire was just too painful. This one was supportive but also had no underwire:
I had two nursing tanks from Target last time and didn't love them, but I guess I just didn't wear them much because I always felt a need to wear a bra also, and then I would just wear a regular tank over that.

Echo the love for Bravado, though I can only speak for a more average size. But seriously they are fairly comfortable, and the nursing (and pumping)-ease part works.
I had some from bravado, Medela, and target last time and didn't love any of them. I found it easy enough to pull over a regular bra for nursing. I also avoided underwires while nursing but was a g or h cup last time and need some major support. I went down to a d cup afterwards and am currently overflowing a dd cup now. I bought a Hanes comfort fit wire free bra and the support is okay but the bottom rolls over which drives me crazy. I do like having some padding for modesty as my nipples got ginormous when nursing. So I don't know where I'll end up this time but am interested in ideas!!
We used Pampers swaddlers last time and had tons of leaking when DS was sleeping and would turn slightly to one side. Like the diaper would not even be wet and it would just all come out. Not sure what the deal was or if it had to do with the position of his penis because I started pointing it down when putting on a new diaper and it helped.
Boy moms, what do you recommend? Thinking about Huggies this time. For sizes above NB we have been using Huggies or Costco Kirkland brand, whatever is on sale. But they don't make NB size.

microworm, we used Pampers swaddlers with DS too. I liked them, and will probably try them for DD too. Once he started peeing more, we switched to Huggies and had way fewer leaks. We also like their overnights.
We used Pampers swaddlers (Amazon subscription - best option ever!!) when DS was a little guy and never had an issue with leaking, but then switched to Target brand when he was a little older to save some money. Whenever he did leak, sizing up solved the issue for us even if he wasn't within the weight range of the bigger size yet.
Diapers are definitely kid-dependent which is why I don't recommend stocking up on too many of the same brand beforehand. Of course you can always exchange them later if they don't work, but finding the right brand and size is important.
And pointing the penis down absolutely helps to prevent leaking. It took us a while to realize that, and then to remember to do it, but after we got sprayed while changing him it became a little easier to remember!
As a FTM having a boy, I'm cracking up that in a few months, I'm going to be thinking about things like the ideal penis direction for preventing leaks. Parenthood is so romantic!

Don't buy the hype about peepee teepees. They are useless. Aim down, grab an extra blanket or burp cloth and keep your mouth closed. The end.

We mostly used pampers swaddlers when DS was a baby and had no leaks. We've also used target brand a few times and those were good too. We were gifted some huggies and we stopped using them before they were all gone because they leaked so much. Every baby is different though.
Penis direction is very important for boys and its NBD to always point it down. We have some issues with that now though as a toddler because DS has an erection almost every morning. It still weirds me out.

We used pampers swaddlers and then pampers cruisers the whole time and loved them and never had an issue. DS was very average size. This time I have some pampers, huggies, and Luvs to try since I got them all on sale. I tried the Walmart brand on vacation once and he target brand after hearing good reviews but didn't like the feel of them as they seemed rougher than the others. We also had little wipes we put over him during a change to prevent the firehose spray. . DH learned that in the hospital!
ETA: 1- Amazon Prime is totally the way to go with diapers - we did subscribe and save and they were delivered monthly at a great price.
2- These are the wipes we had to cover him while we changed him. DH loved them, I just went fast and always kept it covered with the diaper (no air time).

We've had a few unfortunate incidents where the penis was left outside the diaper... Oops! Let's just say there was pee everywhere

We have always used pampers. Swaddled to for newborn-2 and then cruisers or baby dry for size 3 and up.
As a newborn DS peed through a lot but after his circumcision healed it seemed a lot less.
Coincidentally the past 2 nights he has peed through (baby dry) but we have never had a problem since newborn.
I'd say just try some different ones and see what you like and what works for your baby. I wouldn't invest a ton in a certain brand just in case you don't like them or your baby has a sensitivity to them.

As far as diapers go I think it really just depends on the baby. So don't stock up on too many of one brand. I really wanted to use honest diapers but they leaked like crazy for us even five minutes after we changed him. We used pampers swaddlers till size 3 then switched to Kirkland diapers. DS has always been a heavy pee-er overnight so we used pampers overnight diapers up until about 18 months.
Huggies leaked for us also. I do love pampers the most, but couldn't justify the price when Target brand was working just fine. I do plan on using Pampers during the newborn stage though. They are definitely softer. I still use Pampers sensitive wipes though. They are a great price and I like them the best!

I'm kind of surprised that unexpected pee fountains happen often enough that pretty much every mom of a boy that I know mentioned it to me after I told them I was having a boy. At least I'm prepared! Burp cloths, closed mouth. If I forget that advice, I'm sure it will only be once.
I came in here to say that not all boys pee a lot during diaper changes and that DS has only peed on me maybe 2 times in his life. But then he pooped in the bathtub again yesterday, so I think I'll keep my comments about bodily functions to myself.

I think I remember reading somewhere that it's the difference in temperature during the diaper change that tends to prompt a little pee. Diaper comes off, things get a little chillier, and the pee just happens sometimes. My best advice is to ALWAYS have the new diaper ready to go before you take the old one off, just in case! And try to use the old diaper to catch the pee instead of the new one - I can't tell you how many times I panicked and grabbed the new one as a shield. Such a waste!
