I put away C's newborn clothes and he slept 2.5 hour stretches for the second night in a row! I want to say that it's bittersweet, but right now I am just excited that he is growing so well and I am not totally exhausted!
My in laws are here visiting. I am so glad I can go into my room for half an hour every three hours or so to feed the baby. I can only take my MIL in small, small doses.
Are babies just gassy or am I eating something that is upsetting her tummy? Her poops look normal? She really seems to struggle with gas. Gas drops help but I don't know if that's a long term solution.

I'm dreading putting new born clothes away. My last 2 babies wore preemie clothes for a week or two, and I know Owen was in New born clothes for 8 to 10 weeks.

luckypenny Have you tried gripe water? We found that works better for DS. He gets super gassy and won't burp most of the time :/

It very well could be what's in your diet that's causing the gas.

@happywigglecmb we haven't tried gripe water. Maybe I will get some. She doesn't burp very often either, despite me trying.
LaBellaVida how would I go about guessing what bothers her? She seems gassy mo matter what. I'm avoiding spicy foods, spaghetti sauce, broccoli. I do have dairy. But I thought if it was a dairy intolerance it would change her poops? Dear God I hope it's not that because dairy is in everything.

H can go suck a fat one. I get up with B at 5:30 feed him about to give us both showers and DD1 barges in the bathroom for a chocolate sand which at 6:45. Just get the bread down and DS2 is upstairs yelling down the vent. Go upstairs get him dressed and downstairs give them both chocolate sandwiched H finally makes an appearance. Feed Beau while helping DD get dressed. H sits on the couch playing on his phone. Finally get B and I in and out of the shower throw on some sweats hair still dripping get a screaming Beau dressed and the other two screaming and fighting H disappeared. Apparently that was the best time to run and shower. I go in the bathroom to grab the comb and say "great time to take a shower with all 3 kids screaming" and I get a "why do you always do that?" Gee maybe because you need me to be a bitch to you once in a while. Now while I finish getting ready he's going to complain that it's taking so long and we should have left a long time ago. Today will be a fantastic day right?

My pup has this really annoying habit about laying her head on our feet while she chews her toys. Well she just accidentally bit my big toe and fuck it hurt!
luckypenny Some babies are just gassy. It could be your diet, but I wouldn't do anything drastic. Pay attention and you'll see bf-ing moms and formula moms facing the same issues. If anything I'd keep a log of what you're eating and how baby reacts.

I think it's normal. But we have a gassy one too. Usually at bed time. They are big and loud! But with every poop he also has gas.
My little guy is one month old today. Time needs to slow down!
We seem to be having a lot of gassiness here too. He cries and grunts a lot. We have to burp him or he lays around grunting and fussing. When he farts they are pretty forceful for a baby. We use gas drops and gripe water, both help but we still have issues. I wonder about something in my diet causing the problem but his poop is totally normal looking so I am not sure that is it.
I seriously barely left my bed for 3 days. I get up to get food, drink, use bathroom. I get up to cook when my husband comes home. We did go to BJ's the other night. But during the day with just me and jude, we chill in bed.

luckypenny I'd keep a log of what you eat and see if you see a difference. Dairy could be the culprit, but I wouldn't change anything yet. If you are eating a lot of dairy, maybe cut it back a little? I'd suggest seeing a LC. They'd be able to help you narrow what it could be. It very well could be nothing too.

Idk why I ever doubted needing a double stroller. I had to take Liam to his 2 week appt, and Owen had to have his ears checked. My H couldn't help me this morning, so I was on my own. I managed to get out the door and to the Dr. OK. After that, geeze. ..I was sweating holding Liam and running around with Owen. I think we'll go next weekend to get my stroller. I've been holding out getting it thinking I could survive without one.
Anyway, Liam is 9 lbs, 5 oz! 21.5 inches long! He's getting too big! his belly button hasn't been healing correctly. It's developed a smell even so the Dr had to use silver nitrate on the inside of it to seal it. Now we've gotta to keep it clean, and watch for puss. It looks horrible!
I did not expect my postpartum workouts to consist of violently trying to vomit. I knew about the stitches and the bleeding and the pooping and the sore nipples, but not about the nausea. Probably just as well.
luckypenny Are you hearing your baby swallow air while nursing? Mine does and he has lots of gas, not sure how to fix that other than maybe when my milk regulates there won't be such a spray for the little guy. I'm off to google ideas on this :-) Eta, sounds like my problem is overactive let down, if you have it you can try nursing upright or even unlatching baby and letting the let down spray in a washcloth Hope that helps!
Our bilirubin count is down so no more heel sticks! Woo hoo! Ds had a blow out on the way to our appointment from the blood lab. Dh was saying it was the worst diaper ever but I just cleaned him up and remarked in how it looked like transitional stool, that's the difference between Dads and moms ;-)

DH is still not home. No call or text. He knows I want to go to roller derby tonight and I'd still have to nurse DD and get dressed. Also, DS would be starting him bedtime routine in 30 minutes, which is when I'd have to leave. He better get home soon...
Did anyone get put on driving restriction after giving birth? I swear the doctor did not say this but maybe I zoned out, dh said the doctor said 6 weeks due to my hemorrhaging post partum. I mean I'm more than happy to be chauffered around but how did I miss that?

Are you in roller derby or just going to watch? I love roller skating so I was just curious, I'm too much of a wimp to do derby but before having ds1 I was at the roller rink multiple times a week if possible. I actually was looking into a mommy and me roller skating class even though my son could barely walk well yet. I want to take him when I'm able to do fun stuff like that again!
