You are some sick people! Who eats carrot cake when you can have something as uh-MAZING as red velvet
Noooo... the red dye people put in red velvet freaks me out. I know that real red velvet is supposed to be created by a chemical reaction, but every red velvet recipe I've seen has a ton of red food coloring in it. Every time I think of red food coloring I think of "natural red 4", which is made from bugs. Then I can't think of anything else.
IVF+ICSI March 2016 (6R/5M/5F - 3 embryos on ice) 4/7/16: first ever BFP! EDD: 12/17/16 DS Arrived via C-Section 12/19/16! FET #1 June 2019 - 1 embryo didn't survive thaw & the one that did didn't stick around. BFN FET #2 September 2019 - last embryo didn't survive thaw.

kaydee0402 , Lucy , - okay ladies how about you make both and I will be the taste tester and let you know which one is best. We can all come to a compromise. In the end you still want your specific cake, everyone has cake and well so did I and two cakes which I love.

How far along are you? 6 wks 6 dys
What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) Blueberry
Symptoms? Subsided this week, but some nausea every now and then
Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? This morning! I saw the heartbeat nice and strong at 148! What a relief. There was also something else going on in there. The nurse mentioned it could either be a bleed or a cyst. She said she'd let me know what the dr says. But at least I'm prepared in case of spotting.
Rants/Raves? Tomorrow I turn 7 wks. Once I pass my loss milestone of 9 wks, I will breathe much easier...and be even more excited!
GTKY: Right now I'd say the strawberry shortcake from Cheesecake factory. Strawberries, ice cream, whip cream, and biscuit...what's not to love? I once made it at home too.

Carrot cake is the best cake.
I feel like I can taste red food coloring and it makes it taste chemically and bad to me. Hence DH gets all my red skittles, red starburst, and red jelly beans.

I know, the closer the appt the more time drags! Is it at least early in the day?

How far along are you? Seven weeks according to my scan last week. Eight and a half according to LMP. So we'll see...
What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) Not sure because of the date uncertainty :-)
Symptoms? My boobs are getting bigger every day. (Last time I went from an FF cup to a J cup.) Nausea is mild, but food aversions are strong. I can't drink tap water, or still water at all. But mostly, exhaustion, which is fun with an outside baby who fights sleep and naps.
Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? Not till May 17th. At least I'll have another scan then.
Rants/Raves? Pregnancy is already so much harder with an outside baby as well.
GTKY:What is your favorite dessert? Well, I'm not supposed to have much that's sweet whilst I'm pregnant, so naturally, everything that's already been mentioned, even the scotcharoos and snickerdoodles I've never heard of.
But not red velvet cake. It's not common over here but I had some once. The cream cheese icing was tasty. The cake tasted of slightly sweetened air. As far as I could tell there was no flavouring at all, not even vanilla. It was the most pointless cake I've ever eaten.
I like the weekly check-in for now, so no need to wait until your ticker change to play, just jump on in.
How far along are you? 6 weeks today!
What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) Pea
Symptoms? Some nausea and exhaustion.
Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? Had our first one yesterday! Doctor has put a ban on nursing due to my cramping, and I haven't nursed DS since Tuesday night. And my cramping is magically gone. We have a dating ultrasound on May 12, which I can't wait for
Rants/Raves? Feeling pukey and I'm already tired of getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but such is life.
GTKY:What is your favorite dessert? RED VELVET CAKE. Give me all the red dye. Actually, if you have quality red velvet cake made without the red dye, it's smooth and delicious and amazing. We had it at our wedding and it was so good. Also, anything made with salted caramel is my jam right now.

How far along are you? 6w today!
What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) I think a sesame seed?
Symptoms? horrendously sore and sensitive boobs, some waves of nausea, indigestion all afternoon, and peeing like a racehorse. I'm also getting what I think is RLP occasionally, which sounds normal since it's my 2nd.
Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? May 19th - SO FAR AWAY
Rants/Raves? NBR, but my DH is being a major asshat this week. He keeps throwing this pity party for himself that we don't have the spare funds (or space?!) to pursue buying an old sports car and rebuilding it. We've had this conversation a 10000000x times before - he's pretty underpaid for his field (accounting), but so far seems unmotivated to change that or ask for the raise he has been promised for 2 years and still hasn't received one additional cent. I keep telling him he either needs to be fine with where we are now financially (not great, but not terrible either) or make changes to get where he wants us to be. I'm well-paid for my field (education) and my salary is higher than his, which given our respective job fields, shouldn't be the case. Either way, STOP COMPLAINING OR DO SOMETHING. /endrant.
GTKY:What is your favorite dessert? I am a HUGE fan of chocolate covered pretzels, but in reality if you give me dessert I will eat it. NOM NOM NOM
Post by requiressnacks on Apr 28, 2016 11:49:00 GMT -5
fikafairy67, I totally agree with your position on your H's job situation/sports car. Accounting is a really sought after field, so I'm sure he could find something better. No raise in 2 years? I'd be getting the hell out of there.
How far along are you? 7 weeks, according to my math.
What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) Berlingot candy, an old-fashioned French hard candy popular during the reign of Louis XIV. Or a playing die or blueberry.
Symptoms? Oh, just tired all of the time. Bloated. No puking yet, but nothing sounds good to eat except total crap like fast food, so I'm trying to keep that in check. Our local Chick-fil-A and Taco Cabana are seeing me a lot more often.
Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? TOMORROW!!! First appointment, should be getting an ultrasound. I'm also meeting my new doctor, as the doctor I LOVED is leaving the practice. The new doctor has rave reviews, so I'm hopeful.
Rants/Raves? Nothing really. Just so ready for the weekend. It's the only time I feel okay because I nap constantly.
GTKY: What is your favorite dessert? Chocolate chip cookies, all the way. Or even better, the dessert they do where they bake the cookie in a skillet and top it with ice cream and whipped cream. Total heaven.
I'll participate in this next week, but I'm just here to say that carrot cake is THE BEST and red velvet is a load of BS. I mean, talk about a misuse of cream cheese frosting. Why make chocolate cake if you're only going to put a little bit of chocolate in it? And then why would you sully it with chemically red food coloring?

Yeah I think with the knowledge that #2 is on the way, he finally woke up and realized that no matter how much he likes his boss and the environment there, when the company literally cannot give out raises, it's a sinking ship and only a matter of time.
He's actually working on his resume tonight! Completely unprompted!

Yeah, no more nursing thanks to cramping. But we did 13 months, so yaaay! And he's not taking it well at all, lol. He only comfort nurses once or twice a night as a comfort thing and he was so pissed last night. Oh well!

Stay strong...13 months is great! Are you having your DH go to him at night? Or just letting him cry?
eristin, if I had it my way, we would just let him cry it out since nothing's wrong, he just wants to nurse and he usually falls back to sleep after 20 minutes. However, my DH (God love him), can't stand listening to DS cry. He only lets him cry for five minutes and then he breaks and gets him. He's a major softie, which is so bad since we're in the toddler tantrum phase and my philosophy is to ignore the tantrum!
Last night he threw a tantrum because I wouldn't let him play in the toilet. Worst mom ever.

But, toilets are so fun!
Well hopefully your DS will still learn that the boobs are gone! We inadvertently started night weaning last night, woke up feeling like the worst mom ever... We'll see how this goes.

Hi guys! Back from vacation and ready to check in! How far along are you? 6 weeks What is your baby the size of? (Fruit, veggie, etc.) blueberry Symptoms? So much rlp and a ton of nausea. Like way worse than usual. Hoping it isn't a sign that anything is wrong. PAL brain is really getting to me since I've had cramping and lower back pain the last few days (no blood though). Upcoming Doctor's Appointments? Two weeks from today Rants/Raves? I'm super sick! Travel plus sick husband plus allergies plus nausea means I have no appetite and am just laying here in bed. Not how I wanted to spend the last day of my vacation but at least our nanny is here to entertain my son and take him on a play date. GTKY:What is your favorite dessert? Red velvet is up there but my all time favorite is Mille feuille.

legalbeagle sorry about your cramps and back pain. That would play havoc on my emotions too. I had to look up your favorite dessert since I wasn't sure what it was, but I've had that and it is good!
