Sorry danib. That's the worst when you can't get back to sleep.
I'm so happy it's Friday. Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow. We were thinking about starting demo on our bathroom tomorrow but the tile that we picked for flooring is out of stock and they don't know when it'll be back in. Now we have to start over on tile. It sucks, I was so happy to have something picked out.
danib, so sorry you had a rough night. Enjoy that afternoon nap!
I'm so excited for this work week to be over. Tomorrow morning I'm meeting up with a bunch of mamas from my Jan.'15 BMB and all our LOs and I can't wait!
Other than that TCF is loading reeeeally slowly for me this morning so I may be around only sporadically but I'll definitely come back and check in with you ladies. Hope everyone has a great day!
danib I'm sorry...I've spent a lot of MOTN hours awake the last few weeks. It's the worst...and yes, juuuuust as you get back to sleep, older kiddo inevitably wakes up.
DH and DS left for their trip to my ILs this morning. I'm really thankful I do not have to go, but it was tough saying bye to DS (DH, I'm used to!) He was blowing kisses and signing "I love you" out the car window as they drove away, and I was decided misty-eyed!
I've had a very leisurely morning so far but need to get up and shower, I have some errands to run. My dog is depressed that she's stuck here with me. Apparently I am a disappointment to her.
I have met a whole bunch of my Jan14 ladies. Just over 50 altogether, at various GTGs. We are doing our second annual huge get-together in late June. I am staying in a house in the Poconos with 5 other Jan14 families, and next door to 6 other families. Last year there were over 80 of us at the event. That includes spouses and kids, of course, but it was in the neighborhood of 30-35 J14ers. This year, even more are anticipated!

Holy crap, that sounds awesome! We have nowhere near that many but still, it always amazes me the kind of bonds that can be forged through the internet.
peanutmuse That is so cool that you meet up with all the families from your BMB. Enjoy your meet up dashook.
Slow work day today. I'm going to go shopping over lunch for summer clothes for DS. It is going to warm up next week and the kid only has a few pair of shorts.

At my cousin's bridal shower last summer, the favors were a small box of macaroons. They looked amazing! Well at the end of the shower, I was in the bathroom chatting with my other cousin and ended up opening up to her about our IF struggles so we were in there a long time. By the time we got out, half the place was cleared out, including the gift I won and my favors. My mom grabbed them for me since she didn't know where I was. Well I got my gift but my sister ate my damn macaroons! I'm still bitter and craving them to this day but have no idea where to find them!

Yessss vinolove!!! Thank you! Those are beautiful and I bet taste amazing.
goldenlove3 I've never had them before our trip this past February. Knew what they were, but never happened to be in a place that sold them. So. Good. Your sister has no idea how lucky she is that you didn't disown her.

Enjoy getting your H back home danib! I hope that nap is perfect and refreshing. Please take a few extra minutes for me, I'm struggling and have no time for a nap. Boo.

I can't even bring myself to read the link. Kids need to understand that actions have consequences. If I threw a cookie at my son everytime he was doing something that could harm himself or others we'd have bigger problems.
I am happy to send macaroons to anyone who needs them! Lol. We have a French bakery in town that makes delicious macaroons except the flavor varies daily/weekly. In fact all their stuff is absolutely divine.
danib Sorry for the MOTN waking, this has been my main consistent symptom. I wake like 5 times a night to pee and by the last time I'm too awake to fall back asleep (like2:30-3am) so I just lie in bed until my alarm goes off at 6. Absolutely dreadful. Hopefully you get some rest today!!

That sounds amazing kleigh!!!! I'm not sure what I would do if I had a bakery like that so close by!
I also read your post wrong at first starbuck27 and thought you literally threw cookies at your son when he misbehaved. The image in my head was great, but I couldn't understand why you were wasting cookies like that! FWIW I despise any and all articles like that. I didn't get timeouts as a kid bc my mom counting to two was enough to make me stop in my tracks, but my brother and sister? They had designated spots with indentations of their hineys on them they were there so often.
danib, so sorry for the lack of sleep! That is the worst.
So happy it's Friday. Although it's suppose to snow/rain here all weekend and I just really want some sunshine! Come on, it's the end of April!
I also decided to start back up with my graduate classes, my class starts Monday. I am 3 away from my degree, and they are mostly online and only 8 weeks long, so it's not that big of a time commitment per class but I am just so unmotivated. I really just want to get it done. I haven't taken a course in a year, because life. But that pause really killed my momentum. Plus, I'm wondering more and more about how long I'll want to stay at my current company so I really need to take advantage of the tuition benefits while I'm here. Hopefully I'll get right back into the swing of things and it won't feel like torture.

My parents spanked. After my round I would shout "that didn't hurt!!!" And then when they looked at me, furious, I fucking ran for my life.
But I always said it again next time. Because I'm not smart.
ETA: Ran for my life is way too strong. I just didn't want more spanks.
. I remember I was spanked ONE time and that was enough. It didn't even hurt, my dad barely made contact on my rear end but the idea that I upset my mom and dad enough that they both decided I needed to be spanked was the really upsetting thing. They cried as much as I did. I was so conscientious of how it affected both of us (me and them) that my life after that was constantly evaluating my decisions and consequences and I like to think it put me/kept me on the straight and narrow. Also my Nonnie (great grandma) had a belt that hung by the front door when you first came in. I never saw her use it but just knowing it was there was enough to keep all 15 of us grandkids on check.
I went home at lunch and filled my water bottle up, because the water at work is gross. I also filled a travel mug with virgin Caesar. No shame.
danib, are you out east? I don't remember why I think that, but I do.
I've had a GTG down in Georgia with some 2010 ladies (and it was a huge deal because I live in Canada), but have yet to meet up with anyone from my July 2014 group. The one time I hate living in Canada is when GTG planning happens.

Uo? I prefer macaroons over macarons. Well my first choice are Chocolat chip and I have a bag of Tate's bake shop cookies right now that I'm demolishing...

I'm not a fan of either macaroons or macarons. I'll eat them, but why when I can have basically any other dessert. I'll take all the other cookies, cupcakes, brownies, pies, cheesecake, and ice cream before either one.
I drove DH to work and ended up spending the day north at my dad's house. He made us breakfast which was awesome. L and I had lunch out (do not recommend eating out alone with a wild 18 month old, but we lived) and then went to an indoor play place. She looooved it! Now she's passed out on me while I chill in my dad's front living room. Got an hour before we go pick up DH and go to happy hour with his math team. Busy busy. Tomorrow we house hunt again...

I found the article particularly unconvincing.
Wait. She doesn't mention anything about throwing cookies at children in the article. That was a strange comment...?

My H and I got macaroons when we were in Paris because that's what you are supposed to do right? We don't speak French, only please and thank you. So I was pointing at the ones I wanted (purely based on color). Apparently they make savory macaroons because all of the ones I picked were terrible! I'm pretty sure the orange one was salmon flavored because it had dill on it!

vinolove, your avatar makes me want wine so bad. So bad.
I kind of hate you right now.
Kidding.
FFFC? Once I hit second tri, I am taking a huge gulp of wine. Just one. Ok, maaaaybe two. Just because this has been a rough, rough first tri. I know that's not for everyone, and I understand the reasons why, but I am in the camp of an occasional sip or two or three isn't going to do harm.

I didn't even realize that macarons and macaroons were different when I used macaroon in my post. Apparently macaron and French macaroon are the same thing though. I was talking about those lol
