I know thus was discussed previously, but I need some advice regarding work travel...
Background: travel is never really required as part of my job, it is more of a "nice to do" type of deal. I also work on a team of people who really like to travel and are eager to do so.
Ok, so I am getting pressured into traveling for work (there are at least 5 other people from my team going). I have traveled a lot in the past and I used to really enjoy getting out of the office and attending off site meetings and conferences in person. However, now that LO is here is have NO desire to travel and to be away from her. I struggle leaving her at daycare all day as is and the thought of being gone for even 1 night is really stressing me out. She is EBF and will only take her bottle from 1 of her teachers at daycare. If I am gone for an extended period it will be hell for DH, especially during MOTN feedings. I literally cannot imagine trying to give her a bottle in the MOTN. DH still doesnt know her cues very well and shows no interest in learning them.
Beyond all that I think it just really boils down to the fact that I don't want to be seperated from her. Maybe it is a touch of PPA or maybe I am just being a crazy lady, but I need a tactful way to say no to traveling (at least until LO is fully weaned, then MAYBE I will be able to handle 1 or 2 nights away at a time).
Have any of you dealt with this or have any advice on how to say no? Any managers out there with advice? What would you think if your employee said no to traveling for these reasons?
