My H is off running through the mud for hours on end (and considers it fun ha) and he really wants to go to the local airshow. I think I am going to tell him I want a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on his way home and then suggest he and DD go to the airshow. Sounds win win to me. I have no clue if we are doing anything at all for mother's day.
Oh and currently my child is picking up her dropped cheerios from the floor like a dog...
aggiebug A day off while your H and DD take in the air show sounds like a great idea to me! As does the breakfast sandwich Hope that works out for you.
Morning all! We are headed to the beach today with my parents and aunt and her 3 teens. They all love DS so it's basically like having 3 free babysitters for the day. Afterwards we'll watch the Kentucky Derby and all go out to dinner at a seafood place.
Speaking of the Derby, my sister and her H flew out to KY last night and will be in attendance today. My BIL's sister's ILs live there and are into horse racing, have VIP tickets, etc. The Derby is on my bucket list so I am jealous!
LizInFL Oh the beach sounds fun! Enjoy the free babysitters too
I have already sent H a text saying I want a sandwich so it should happen
H and I went to the Derby for our first anniversary. It was a blast. We definitely didn't have as good of seats as they have but still fun. Derby day was insane. Insane. We actually went to the Oaks on Friday as well and I think we enjoyed it even more. More room, not as hot, easier to see the races and the Oaks Lily is definitely more my style of drink than the julep hopefully I can watch today but tonight is my turn to baby sit for a group co-op type thing so I am not sure if I will get to watch it live.
aggiebug L often acts like a dog. For a while, she woofed all the time and carried her toys in her mouth. It's cute, but weird.
We woke up this morning and almost immediately got a text from our agent that we got the house! No waiting, no competition. Easy as pie. It must have beesn meant to be. The owners are in the same situation as us, but the husband drives north to south instead of south to north like dh. They also have a toddler and are expecting #2! Crazy. I'm hoping they'll let us come see it again today to show my parents.
Woke up with a ton of snot in my throat and face. Hoping it's allergies and not a cold... DH is off giving the SAT so DD and I are going to chill at my mom's and have breakfast over there.
I'm snuggling with my nephew while my sister naps this morning. Other than refusing the boob, he is a super relaxed baby. We might go shopping later but otherwise just plan to hang out today. We are going to get pedicures tomorrow for Mothers Day.
@aggieb the Oaks sounds fun, too! That's good to know. The people they're going with do multiple days of activities, but my BIL is a resident so his time off is limited--they couldn't fly out til last night. I will have to tell them for next year.

Yeah we got tickets with the purchase of derby tickets so I presume the same goes for them, but when you are a resident you take what you can get!
Hi ladies! DS just went down for his nap so I think I may do a similar thing.
When he wakes up we're going to a crawfish boil at the house of some big deal dude from H's work. H wants to be "out" about my pregnancy today so that'll definitely be nice when deciding what to wear! It makes me a little nervous though since I've been kinda seeing my NT scan this Thursday as the benchmark for when to start being open about all this. Just really hoping everything will look good at the scan.

I'm jealous of a may beach day LizInFL! Perks of FL living
Went to Body Pump and then mh made bfast. Heading to a derby party after naptime so I need to get moving and shower. I hate my new haircut so need to figure out how to make it look normalish.
Tomor we are going to the baseball game - we already had tickets and the weather seems decent, so it should be fun, I hope. It's fairly ironic for me to want to go bc I actively resent the team most of the time bc mh is such a fan. He said he'd get himself a new hat for mothers day bc I hate his current one. Ha. (He already told me I'm getting new yoga pants since my regular house ones are apparently past their prime..)
ClassyMrsA Congrats on the acceptance of your house offer! I agree it must be meant to be! buckyb Enjoy your snuggles!! dashook Have fun at the party! I was the same and don't want to be "out" until our NT scan at least and that's exactly what we waited for but I don't think there's a right or wrong time, and I'm optimistic your BT scan will be just fine!
I just grabbed some lunch from Whole Foods salad bar and am shoving my face. H is at our house with his cousin tiling one of the bathrooms woo hoo! I also made my first trip to destination maternity earlier. I really wish I knew what I was doing. I found the pea in a pod brand and since I have one pair of hand me down pants from them so I knew they'd fit etc. Well after I check out with my few pairs of (what I think is expensive for temporary) pants I see there's a whole other side, apparently the "motherhood" line. I wish I'd known this, my gut tells me I could've saved some money.
Question for either FTM or STMs who were pregnant at Mother's Day... Did you/do you plan to celebrate Mothers Day even though baby was not/is not in your arms yet? I hinted to H about it and he was like "but you're not really a mother yet"... He says he was joking, and maybe he was sometimes I can't tell, but it made me feel like crap (which he knows, apologized, etc) but I'm wondering if maybe women don't celebrate until their first Mother's Day with an outside baby.
tgrimes1980 We don't have a Ross (I'd never even heard of it but just googled). And our TJ Maxx and Marshalls don't carry maternity. For that matter, our Kohls and Target have less than one rack each also. No Gap, Loft, or Old Navy maternity either. I found one consignment store and because it's high end resale on the pants were ~$80 practically the same as new.

Buy Buy baby has a maternity clothes section, which is where I got a bunch of clothes last time. I don't think there is one too close to you though.
Wtf? Why can't they just give you the shot already?
Well initially they had to wait to get the final lab report to rule out any infection, which takes a few days. And now its the weekend. Because it's my hip joint it needs to be done under ultrasound. I literally had a room full of people in there the last time. And I guess those people don't work weekends?
This should be an on-call situation! I mean, come on people, danib has been in the hospital too long!!

That sucks so bad danib! Is that what got you able to be sent home last time too? Can they get you set up with out patient orthopedics to watch the joint to help keep you from going back again soon? This has been such a hard past few months for you and I'm really hoping that it only gets better from here.
kleigh, H wasn't supposed to do anything but he did and I ugly cried HARD. I'm still a mom and so are you already and I think both our journeys deserve all the celebration we can get.
kleigh I remember H taking me out for brunch when I was preggo, but I think I made a thing about it and I was also like 34 weeks along. My mom and sisters gave me cards because they "got" it.
We are still moms right now because we are still doing a lot of work to keep this kid alive and healthy. And same for dads. They are doing extra work to make sure you are rested, healthy and taken care of. So yes, I think you (we) deserve that recognition!

I hope you got your breakfast sandwich aggiebug! And I hope everyone enjoyed/is still enjoying their Saturday's. Those derby parties sound like a great time.
I just got home from work and I'm dead on my feet. Hoping this beautiful Olive Garden salad revives me because I have to go do mobility evaluations at the state nursing home in a couple of hours. I hate these days, that place is so incredibly sad. At least I leave with a great sense of appreciation.

kleigh, I got a necklace that said Mom on it for Mother's Day when I was pregnant with my son, and I'm pretty sure we also went out to eat, but we did that more often than not anyway, so it wasn't really for the holiday. To be honest, we don't really celebrate in general, though (at least, not for adult occasions), so that's really as much as we ever do.
For maternity clothes, I've gotten most of mine online from Kohls; I keep what will work and return the stuff I don't like. If you wait for a 30% code, it's not overly pricey.
danib That sucks!! I'm so sorry you're stuck there.
kleigh We did celebrate mother's day when I was pregnant with L. DH got me a card and a maternity top that says "mommy to be." Also, I got most of my clothes either on sale online, at consignment, or from hand me downs. Craigslist also often has a bunch of people selling mass quantities of maternity clothes.
I think for the Mother's Day when I was pregnant with DS, I received cards from my mom and MIL and DH had flowers sent. But we were also the kind of people who would get eachother Mother's and Father's Day cards from our dog, so there's that
danib I'm so sorry you're still there; hospitals over the weekend are the absolute worst.
As for maternity clothes, I got a lot at Loft (via online) when I was pregnant with DS, and I recently ordered some things when they did 40% off. 2 or 3 tops, a pair of capris, and 2 pairs of shorts for around $150. So not dirt cheap but less expensive than A Pea In the Pod. They have some nice options that would work for the office, too. I also like Gap for basics. Also online but shipping is free of you spend $50; their black skinny pants are my all-time favorite piece of maternity clothing.
Beach was great and DS is conked out in the backseat. Weather was so perfect, I don't think anyone wanted to leave. We are stopping for Icee's (my inner 8 y.o. is thrilled)
How cool hangry!! PTs always seem to be the coolest people when I get to meet them. Every 2-3 months at this particular nursing home an Md, PT, OT, aid, and RN have go around and evaluate possible new mobility issues that would increase their at risk census and as a result possibly increase their need for more employees. It's for both patient safety and employee as well since many of them are 1 person assist to start anyway and that poor aid would rather bust her butt than ask for help when it gets busy. I'm the only one who doesn't get paid for it somehow though lol, it's started off with me happening to be there with my H and they asked if I could take a quick ABI. I followed them around the rest of the night and now go back every other month.
Edit: PT not PR...not that PR people aren't cool, I just don't know any!!

I went into my first maternity store today! I wanted a maternity bathing suit since the only kind I currently own is bikinis. Don't feel comfortable wearing those right now. I was successful and found one I liked! The store had a 7 month foam bump to try on to see how stuff would fit later! My friend and I had so much fun with that, it was hilarious!
