kleigh I just read your other question about Mother's Day: my H and I had the exact same conversation. I asked if he was planning anything for me? Because I didn't want to have expectations and then the day comes and he does nothing. He said the same thing to me that you are not a mother yet. I know I don't have an outside baby but I am taking care of this child and doing everything in my power to keep it healthy! The convo upset me too... Idk if he's going to acknowledge it tomorrow or not.

Hi ladies! I'm finally able to check in today. I'm exhausted! I've been on my feet ask day doing laundry, gardening and baking. The good thing is that my reveal cake is done and I think it turned out pretty good!! I'll share pictures tomorrow.
We're celebrating Mother's day with both our families so not doing something specifically for me but I feel like it's my day too. I'm not expecting gifts or anything but H did ask what I wanted. Last Mother's day was very hard for me to deal with. In fact, I didn't get out of bed all day and skipped the family events. I feel like after years, I can finally be part of this day and I'm gonna enjoy it.

Let's see that cake goldenlove3! I want to pretend I'm getting a slice. Enjoy your entire day tomorrow. You too cookswithwine9. We are all moms right now and working very hard to everyday at it. Gifts or no gifts I hope the day is special for everybody.
danib, the amount of time you have spent in the hospital for this just baffles me. I don't mean to be morbid here, but I almost died, literally -- lost half of my blood in a matter of minutes and was on the cusp of cardiac failure in emergency surgery, spent some time in ICU, but was released on day 5, lol. The thought of being in the hospital that long TWICE makes me want to stab myself in the eye. That sucks so bad for you.
Is it a small hospital, that they don't have people who can do relatively simple procedures like that on weekends? I have had hip injections twice, both via ultrasound, and they were both done in an office setting and I was out within an hour. What are they injecting and where in your hip exactly does it go, like which part of your hip? I think I missed that part. I totally get waiting to make sure it's not infected, but I am not understanding why it's taking so long after getting those results back.
Side note, any possible chance that whatever is going on is exacerbated by pregnancy? Pregnancy is weird like that.
cookswithwine9 and goldenlove3 Yeah I don't even care for a gift, we're the type of couple that if we want something throughout the year (not very common) we'll just get it for ourselves. But more the acknowledgement, maybe make breakfast (something I do every other day of the week). And to goldenlove3 's point, for the past 3 years we have gone out of town on Mother's Day so that I didn't have to face it. My mom and sisters totally understood and we played it off to his mom. We'd still get then cards and a small gift but give it to them the day before/after. So I think it's more just being grateful and celebrating (both of us) that we've made it this far.
danib ugh sorry it's another weekend in the hospital. Fwiw the hip joint can be incredibly difficult to find and yeah hitting the femoral artery or the nerves right there would be easy to do and very very bad. It doesn't really matter though because it seems like someone should be available to do the procedure. I am really sorry that sucks.
I got breakfast in bed and some new servingware from DS and DH! Now just lounging in bed enjoying the quiet while they are out getting Starbucks to bring back. It's a good day so far
Tonight we're having dinner at my ILs' house. Between now and then there will be a pedicure, a nap, and a family walk. Like I said, a good day!

danib - that much time in the hospital is really crappy. Hospitals are not healing places to be for long periods and I'm sorry you're stuck there.
Today has been a good day. Slept in, ate cinnamon rolls with DH and DS, and now headed outside to enjoy the sunshine. Going over to see my mom and grandma later. Have a lovely Mother's Day mamas and mamas to be!
Happy Mother's Day, everyone! Hope you all have a lovely, relaxing day.
I was able to sleep late this morning and then opened cards and presents from DH and DS. DS made me a tile trivet at preschool and was so proud of it:) We are on our way to do a couple errands now and later today my parents are coming over to grill out. We have been so busy and or out-of-town the last several weekends, it's nice having one where we can just relax and catch up a bit.
Happy Mother's day! I hope everyone is celebrating if this is your first or 5th! Treat yourself if your hs don't think it's right to celebrate, you are working hard to care for your lo.
We went to the zoo this morning & DD is napping so I'll try to sneak one in, too.
calindi Didn't you say you had pink eye but it turned out to be something else? This shit came back for the 4th time now so I'll be calling an ophthalmologist tomorrow.
Yes, it was episcleritis. Steroid drops finally got rid of it but nothing else helped at all.
Hope you can get an answer soon! That shit suckssss
Too many activities today. We were about to walk to get groceries for tacos, but I had to turn around bc I was too tired and kind of nauseous. Maybe the huge turkey sandwich at 3pm was a bit aggressive..
*snip* I really don't know what's so special about mine lol, I know my mom has had it done the same way you described, quick in and out clinic, in her shoulder. Mine has to go right into the joint at my groin area.
That's where mine goes, too, right into the joint at the groin area. I have a labral tear and they were checking to see if steroids would help with the pain. (Spoiler alert: it did not. I need surgery after I'm done having babies and have someone who can watch kids for 6-8 weeks while I recover.) I will say that I had an arthrogram and MRI prior to the injections, and they messed up pretty bad, even with the ultrasound. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of the bruise. It was so painful for weeks. So I can understand wanting to do it right. They did a long needle up my leg from my upper thigh, and must have hit something wrong. I do not bruise easily, so I knew something was funky.
ETA: I guess I didn't save any bruise pics. Darn it. But it was probably about 6" x 4" for a tiny injection site. Big needle, yes, but the hole is still small. Crazy.
Ouch peanutmuse ! They just go directly from my groin area using a "spinal". The whole thing is only a few inches long though. We're looking to treat my issue with a low dose of steroid during my pregnancy and then re-evaluate after I have the baby. I do find the steroids make a huge difference for me, but mine is fluid and inflammation (no injury). It's so weird how different the "same" procedure can be.
Well, one of the ways that they tell if it's a labral tear that is causing the pain is by using the steroids. Generally speaking, if the steroids work, surgery isn't immediately necessary because something else might be causing the pain. If they don't work, only surgery is going to fix it. So it wasn't completely a surprise, since I had already been diagnosed with the tear from the MRI.
Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies! Hope all had nice days.
The weather was super crummy here, but we had a great day. Surprised our families with the news of a little girl. It was so much fun, I am usually not one to go all out, but I am glad we made this special for them and have the memories. We got them a each a balloon with confetti in it and made a card for my mom and MIL that read "I can't wait to meet you, pop the balloon and you'll find out who". They we're floored that we had found out in the first place since we had been telling them not until June. But their reactions when they popped the balloons and found pink confetti was priceless. They would have been thrilled with either, but I think they were both secretly hopping for a girl. So they both pretty much lost their minds.
My MRI was totally clean (good thing, but not giving any helpful info). How difficult will it be for you to get the surgwey? That's a long recovery time with a baby... peanutmuse
I probably will start to discuss it in a year or two. My mom is retiring in November, so theoretically she will be able to help me. I also have terrible painful varicose veins that I want to have fixed. I'm debating which one to do first...

(In case it's not extremely obvious, these are long term problems that I have been patiently waiting to fix when I am done having babies. The hip instability that comes with pregnancy -- and the fact that I have a physical job, teaching dance -- would make another tear more likely. And the varicose veins, it's just silly to do that when they'll just come back during pregnancy!)
