Are any of your LOs paci addicts like mine? V has always only been allowed the paci at nap and bedtime but lately has been whining for her "nani" all day long. When she gets to have it it's like she's getting a fix. Daycare claims they only let her have it for a bit after naptime and then trade her something fun for it.
I think I'm going to get rid of it before it gets worse. Any strategies that have worked for you guys to lose the paci? Cold turkey? Lose it at naps first and then bedtime later? I read about cutting the tip online but I don't like the idea of doing that.

We have a paci addict here. He loves it and would use it all day if we let him. We are trying to keep it only for sleeping. He calls it a "B" and now we don't call it by name anymore. No advice, just commiseration.

designaddiction we are nerds and call it "that which cannot be named" circa Harry potter. It is ridiculously annoying how hooked she is on it but I would probably let her have it until she is old enough to negotiate with if it weren't for #2 coming in October. I'd probably have to let her have it until a few months after that and then she will be 2.5.

vavavictoria, I've taken to calling it a cork. I get why you want to stop. I am going to wait until 2 I think, but start limiting it now, at least that is what I say I will do, let's see if I hold to it.

@kait20122014 how old was J when you were able to explain things? V is pretty verbal but I still don't know if she would really get it. I tell her to put her paci in the crib and say bye bye every morning and she gets that though. I think I sometimes underestimate the level to which she can comprehend things bc of her age.
