I was pretty confident that I am 5+1 today, but based on today's ultrasound it might be more like 4+6.
The doctor had a hard time finding a sac because he was expecting a larger one, but he did find it after a few nerve wracking minutes (probably seconds but it felt like forever). At first he even thought it might be ectopic, but I was experiencing no pain when he was pressing on my ovaries to get a good look (my left ovary likes to hide behind my uterus).
This was a cancelled IUI cycle for those who don't know my story. I had not been temping because of the IUI and when we cancelled it due to over response (4 mature follicles plus two at 14mm) and didn't use a trigger I was left scrambling to try to determine the O date.
I originally got dotted cross hairs for CD18 but if I discarded one of my two low weekend temps then I got solid cross hairs on CD15 so that is what I was going off of because it lines up better with CM and what I think were O pains. So if it was CD18 then I'm not so worried about today's ultrasound... That would also put my BFP at 11DPO instead of 14DPO.
My doctor said that there is an 80% chance that everything is fine and that I O'd later than we thought. He had me do another beta this morning while I was there and if it has continued doubling like it should it should be at or above 1,600. I should have the results this afternoon.
I'll go back on the 24th for another scan to make sure everything looks okay. I'm hoping to see a heartbeat then, but it might still be too early.
My mind just keeps going in loops between "everything is fine, you just O'd later than you thought" and "prepare yourself for another loss"
I was going to post a picture but I can't figure out how to not make it huge AND put it behind a spoiler for those who are grossed out by ultrasound pictures. It looks like a darker grey dot on a sea of lighter grey. Nothing too exciting.
***Beta Update***
RE's office called earlier than expected with my betas and they came back at 1919! They were at 405 on Monday so by my math they needed to be at least at 1600 to be on track. That was a doubling rate of 44.77 hours according to the fancy online calculator I found.
I'm really, really relieved and while there are still many milestones I need to cross before I get a take home baby it is a relief to know that for now everything is okay.
