starbuck27, FX everything goes smoothly, if this is it.
Just woke up from a 2-hour nap--thanks, DS! This afternoon we are going to play outside a bit to enjoy the beautiful weather, and maybe head to Ikea after that to look for a wardrobe and some furniture for DS's big boy room...and meatballs, obv.
I'm just trying to adult today. Went to the bank, dry cleaners, tailor, and lowes today. Stopped for lunch and got a Cobb salad with chicken even though I really wanted everything that was deep fried.
This afternoon I hope to get my window box flowers planted and the garage cleaned up a bit. Not exciting in the slightest, but it's finally nice enough to get stuff done outside.

Also, I'm a bit stuck. My sister is graduating next weekend and we're taking her boyfriend and his family out to dinner with us. He's graduating too and since they've been together we've gotten him Christmas and birthday gifts. I'm assuming since we'll be with him all day it would be nice to get him a present. I'm sure most kids what money, but that feels inappropriate. Are cuff links a good graduation gift for boy? Do people even wear those anymore? I honestly have no clue. And since we leave Friday morning I should probably get it like yesterday.

I started cleaning out the closet in our spare room. I want the guest bedroom to be converted to the nursery (we never have guests). But in order to do that I have to clean out the spare room's closet for all the stuff from the guest bedroom to fit in it. It's the random closet we have been shoving stuff into for 4 years! Wish me luck!
Hey everyone! I've been kinda Mia this week and now I'm sitting here desperate to be on tcf as we are visiting the in laws. Theyare less interested in giving out their wifi password, so I am sitting here on an old ass BlackBerry with the slowest service ever (we are in the US, I have a normal Canadian iphone, but an old US BlackBerry to keep a US number). Anyway, just annoyed. And sorry if I don't respond because it takes like half a day to get back online on this phone.
sophiegrace re: graduation gifts, I'd probably take the easy route and just get him a gift card -Target or some place like that (I'm assuming he'll be outfitting an apartment or something) -a store he likes for clothes to build a work wardrobe (maybe your sister would have an idea) -a restaurant in whatever city he'll be in? Depending on how well you know him/how much you care to do, you could also do an item for his new place (nice barware, something for the kitchen, etc). I don't think cash/check is a bad idea but I know what you mean, it can feel impersonal or something.
tgrimes1980 Hope M sleeps well in her bed tonight!
cookswithwine9 I also have been in closet-cleaning mode lately; we have used the closets in DS's playroom/new bedroom for random storage. Yearbooks, my old American Girl doll, holiday decorations...basically the most random assortment of stuff and I have no clue what to do with it all, so I will probably move it to the guest closet? haha. Musical closets, basically. Good luck!
Afm: I taught swimming this AM, had to get DH a burn permit, and am now watching Three and a Baby!?! I would swear the squeaky giraffe in this 1987 movie is the same as the Sophie that is popular now! Lol

Great ideas LizInFL! I'll have to talk to her and get a better idea what his plans are after graduation. It's a conversation I haven't yet had because I can tell she's having a rough time stepping into the real world. I can't blame her...
sophiegrace That rainbow is beautiful thank you for sharing!! About the grad gift, here's a few more ideas:
- tie - padfolio to use for interviewing - messenger laptop bag - nice pen (MH loves these but he's a bit of a from ;-) ) - money clip with his initials - magazine subscription to something in his field
Good luck!!! I do not enjoy shopping for guys, except one brother of mine lol.

Ohhh!!!! In that case I LOVE that movie tgrimes1980! Haven't seen it in years, better change that soon.
Awesome suggestions kleigh, thank you so much. H actually offered to take over since I said I would run to target over lunch this week to get cards for the two of them. I feel like that's the biggest win/win I've ever heard. He got two ties, a beginners cookbook for men, and a nice messenger bag. There was something else, but I forget. He did amazing I think and went way overboard so now I need to grab something else for my sister, but that'll be easy.

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days ladies. Lots of stupid drama at work with a coworker meaning extra meetings/phone calls with my boss. It looks like it's all going to work out but it was a really shit end to the week.
In happier news, DH and I were prom chaperones for his high school tonight, which I was honestly not really looking forward to but ended up being a blast.
starbuck27 Congrats on becoming an aunt! Glad everything went well!
shedreamsincolor DH is a high school teacher and our 3rd date was chaperoning prom for his school. It was surprisingly interesting. We were going to do it this year, but none of our family members were available to watch L.
peanutmuse Names are super hard this time. DH wants to have our lists done by the time we have our anatomy scan which is like 4 weeks away. We have a handful we like, but I don't think I love anything yet. Picking L's name was pretty easy and we had the boy name picked out too. But we no longer like the other names we were considering for a girl or the boy name. Sigh.
Anxiety is coming back here and there. I still have a week and a day before my next appointment. I keep thinking I feel flutters and then nothing for a while which I know is normal, but it makes me anxious. I'll feel better after my appointment and then I'm scheduling our AS for between 18 and 19 weeks so it won't be too much waiting in between appointments. And then I should be feeling movement regularly and strongly (I hope...).
We are posting our announcement video today. That always adds some anxiety, too. But I'm excited to finally share our news.

peanutmuse and sophiegrace. Names are definitely harder this time. I think we're going to be team green so that makes it a little more challenging for obvious reason. Middle names are easy for us as we have so many family members with good names for that. So we have that pretty nailed down for either sex. But first names are so hard. Our girls name from last time was Charlotte but just not feeling it this time as I don't think it goes well with DS's name. And we used our top boys name. Soooooo yeah. Stuck on both.
DS just went down for a nap. I'm waiting for H to start cleaning out our garage. I tackled a lot of packing yesterday and feel pretty good today. My house is a dirty mess but I want to focus on getting most things packed and in the garage before I get into it. T-minus 12 days and counting!

Ha, well I think we figured it out. Took even less time than our son's name. I'm not sure if we'll be sharing or not, but I will say (for now) that a nickname will be Ivy.
